The Amazon snippets sound good to me. Can anyone tell is it’s significantly different from the tracks released too early in error?

I haven’t listened to anything on it, but I just have to say that must be the best CD cover from any Idol release.

I couldn’t say because I don’t have the other track listing with me. But, the quality definitely seems better.

This is a really classy album, well done Melinda!

OK, I listened to the Amazon snippets and, well, this seems quite fantastic. The only reason she didn’t win Idol in her season, I think, is that her look is a little odd and her sound is not considered “current.” But good music is good music, IMO, and she sounds fabulous in those snippets. I’ll probably have to pick this one up.

And I didn’t even watch S6 of AI, so I have never been invested in Melinda – this is just a fabulous album, plain and simple.

I love Melinda, she’s one of the best singers I’ve heard in a long time. I just really like her, and the direction she has chosen, while maybe not the most lucrative, it will probably put her in a position to have longevity.

Who has the best album cover, Kristy Lee Cook or Melinda Doolittle??

A bit of a rip off of Dylan’s ‘Freewheelin,’ but still qualifies as the best album cover by any Idol grad ever. Don’t understand why Mellinda’s feet weren’t included in the shot but that is just the photographer in me.

Classy indeed. And if you want class, distance yourself as possible far from the AI post production team.

Done! I only listened to the single, but I love her and decided just to go for it.

If you want to hear the single in its entirety, it was NPR’s “Song of the Day” yesterday. You can listen to it and read a nice little blurb about Mindy here. Her photo’s on the front page of NPR’s website at the moment. So happy for her.

I ordered this from MJ’s link. Can’t wait to get it – I really love what I’ve heard so far.

Me too flicker. And I watched Season 6 and actively hoped that Melinda would get voted off every week.

Ok, didn’t watch AI during season 6, I’m only a season 7 girl, but Melinda is amazing! Her voice is gorgeous and from what I heard on ITunes I really like her sound. It’s definitely a ’60′s motown vibe and she pulls it off. I wonder if it will be modern enough to get radio play, I guess we’ll have to wait and see. She doesn’t have the edginess that some of these throwback singers have, but she certainly has the voice!

By the way, I love her cover. I am a huge Bob Dylan fan, and even though this album doesn’t even have a hint of Dylan influence I think it’s pretty cool that her cover references “Free Wheelin” which is one of my favs of his.

She has such an amazing voice, I love it a lot.
Crossing my fingers that the album will be available here soon. I want this one.

Love reading all these positive comments!!!! Melinda’s album is amazing, myself and the rest of her fans (melindasbackups.com) have been very anxiously waiting for this day for two years!!! It is OUTSTANDING, and the version released yesterday is cleaner and more finished than the “mistake” Amazon let out, so go ahead and get yourself another copy!!! Woohoo Melinda!

Melinda is fantastic. Her album is pretty good. IDK if it is marketable or not, but as someone said, good music is good music. I hope she does well and continue to release albums.

I am beyond excited for Melinda!! She is a keeper–a true classic in the making. Her CD is sophisticated and souful–well above the norm. I just love her and her voice. I hope she does so well!!

I decided to buy it. I was in NYC yesterday and was walking by the Virgin mega store, which I am so sad is closing in April. So for nostalgia about the store, CDs in general, and good vibes from Melinda’s efforts, I went in and purchased it. (For $3 more than Walmart, but what the hell!) I still have to listen to it on good speakers.

At first I didn’t think Melinda’s cd was good, only like 5 songs. Now, I’ve listened to her cd over and over in my car, have to say I enjoy 10 of the songs now.
