I love the interaction with the judges after the elimination. Megan was truly an amateur. That’s what idol is all about. I wish she would of used her voice to her advantage and come out of her shell. Simon was really nice to her anyway after the show. I was surprised about how she didn’t care about the judges comments. Did she forget that the judges put her through?? Wildcard, remember Megan? You wouldn’t have a shot of going on tour if it wasn’t for the judges. It suck because girls like Mischa, Felicia and Jesse would of loved to be in her position. Thanks for the vids MJ.

Megan was Megan and I’m glad she entertained me this season despite her singing.

She’s 22 and her behavior wasn’t as bad as middle aged Sulky Simon’s pathetic hurtful ‘We don’t care about you’. He needs to get off that cloud he’s floating on and stop insulting Americans by pushing bad singing down our throats with his praise. Donkey Gokey brayed his song and Big Rounds had lil sound that I cared about. Grow up Simon. A reminder – you’re NOT GOD and I’m not buying your Gospel According to Simon bit.

Simon was courteous to Megan after the show though (in that Extra clip), so he was over his huff by then.

  • pj

I loved what Simon said to Megan. It made good tee vee and she deserved it. But, I’m done with that.

I heart Alexis. What a classy girl with great pipes. I hope she can translate her experience into a career.

  • nad

did anyone else notice Kara talking to Anoop in the background….I hope she was giving him some good advice so he can bring it next week…

  • Cakenbake

Love Ricky Minor and his analysis. Like Ricky, I was also pleasantly surprised when Allison Iraheta came out with a guitar. I was like ‘You Go Girl’. You are a true rocker-chick.

Then as the night progressed I was again pleasantly surprised when they showed Kris Allen working out his “Ain’t No Sunshine” arrangement on the keyboards I was really impressed.

I like it when contestants surprise me that they are multi-talented right before they are about to perform. It throws the whole competition for a loop, but in a good way.

  • Michelle

Food critic and he loves chocolate. I could hang out w/Scott. We’ll wheedle chefs into making quadruple chocolate cakes together :)

  • CRB

Adam Lambert said in that Extra clip that Megan was ” incredibly intelligent, I don’t know if viewers at home know that but she is a very smart girl “. I think somebody in these parts said that Megan was a stupid girl getting by on her looks.

  • Layla

Just because someone has a good intellect, doesn’t necessarily mean that they posses a sense of situation or good common sense.

Megan’s behaviour was stupid, childish and self-indulgent…as was her brother’s behaviour. She will now get her 15 minutes, her tour and then fade into obscurity.

  • bjesgirl

Megan is so cute and quirky. It’s too bad she can’t sing.

  • ordinarygirl09

Kara was really talking to Anoop a lot. I hope she talked some sense into the big headed fool. he has gotten too cocky for my liking.

anywho, glad megans gone. Gotta love Simon, you can tell he is a sweetheart.

  • Kylene

What? No mention of Gokey’s desire to work on his non-profit for kids?

I swear, he talks, and all I imagine is him thumbing through a “How to Become Miss America” handbook.

Edit: Ok, I just re-read my comment and I guess it’s kinda harsh…bravo to him for working nonprofit for kids and families (it’s my career right now as well, so I can respect him for that ’cause it certainly isn’t something you do for the $$$). It’s just the way he said it that sorta irked me.

  • erennick

Harsh but, Lil Rounds in that “alternative careers” piece- gah! Saying that she would want to be a daycare director or a pediatrician bc she found that these two careers work closest with children. It’s fine (or even great) to want to work with kids, but she just sounds like she is not very bright.

  • Jayd

I was a little surprised by some of the alternative career choices; some of them were amazingly down to earth! Obviously they’ve had to think about it and confront the possibility that they may not make it in the music business.

I don’t know what I thought Adam would say, but I wasn’t expecting “graphic design”. I think under the glam exterior, he’s a very level-headed guy.

  • Paula

Adam Lambert said in that Extra clip that Megan was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ incredibly intelligent, I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know if viewers at home know that but she is a very smart girl à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“. I think somebody in these parts said that Megan was a stupid girl getting by on her looks.

If she’s supposedly very smart, she certainly didn’t use the smarts while on Idol.

  • OldHag

did anyone else notice Kara talking to Anoop in the backgroundà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.I hope she was giving him some good advice so he can bring it next weekà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

I also hope she was apoligizing for her snarky Frat Boy comment.

    Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s 22 and her behavior wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t as bad as middle aged Sulky Simonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s pathetic hurtful à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹We donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t care about youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢.

I agree and this season, more so than in the past ones, the judges seem to be struggling with understanding the difference between constructive criticism and nasty unproductive criticism. Well, at least for those that aren’t on their “I have already made up my mind I want this one to win” list. Those contestants get to hear gentle little reminders to be careful of (you fill in the attribute) laced in over-the-top praise. And maybe that is the rub for me; they are so harsh on some and give such transparent free passes to others.

  • sunchick

You know Megan was out there but I never got the impression that she was dumb. I like her interviews and her comfort in her own skin (pun not intended with the tats LOL)…her singing, not so much. She could never find her groove, performance wise, on the show. It happens.

  • http://myspace.com/susanatfox sumidol

“If sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s supposedly very smart, she certainly didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t use the smarts while on Idol.”

I think that out of all of them she was the most amaturish and I wouldnt say she did not have “smarts” just no frame of reference when it came to this show and all that it entails. She sang in her choir at highschool and that was about it. I think her actions covered up hurt and confusion and I feel bad for her. She really did not handle the critiques well at all, but I wasnt as put off by her as I was by Anoops behavior when he received HIS, that evil mean look he gave Simon was something scary – anyhow – If someone takes her in under their wing they could help mold this girl into something lovely.

  • gingerly

If someone takes her in under their wing they could help mold this girl into something lovely.

Maybe if she’d listen to them. See didn’t seem to care to do that on the show. Maybe she was covering up her inadequacy with her flippant tude, but I honestly don’t think she has a musical bone in her body. Her brother’s shout out in the audience, sort of tells me these children were raised to think they are entitled.

  • brie200

I don’t think smarts has anything to do with it. The girl may be a novice, so I’m not blaming her for sucking on the show in terms of performance. Obviously she doesn’t have anywhere near the stage experience of someone like Adam, so I expect that she had a much bigger learning curve than the others and I’m sure that makes this show that much harder. I’m fine with that. Jason had the same thing last season, though he had at least used a microphone before.

So Megan might likely be very smart. Where I take issue is just because you’re smart, doesn’t mean you act professionally and that’s where I think she’s a bit off. You can argue that Simon and the judges don’t act professionally either, but Simon is just doing what Simon is paid to do. He’s paid to be nasty.

I just think you can be yourself and speak your mind in such a way as to not come off looking like either a) a total loon and b) completely unprofessional and Megan has managed to do both.

That said, because she’s pretty and has a unique voice I expect her to get recording offers. How into this whole thing she really is I have no idea.

  • AnnJo

I’m glad Megan’s gone. I felt sorry for her, but I really felt she was out of her element!

  • AnnJo

Kara was really talking to Anoop a lot. I hope she talked some sense into the big headed fool. he has gotten too cocky for my liking.

I really hope she was apologizing for that stupid frat boy comment!! I mean Cà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢mon- I find it so unfair when they praise Lil even when sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s been having bad performances continuously and Anoop had 2 strong weeks and one OK week. His vocals were great on that song- as Randy and Paula said. Also I think Ryan goaded Anoop into saying that- I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think he would have said anything- if Ryan didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t keep askin hm those leading questions. It kinda looks like their setting him up. I thought Anoopà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s response was Smart and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m glad he stood up for himself because Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard he actually is one of the most hardworking contestants!!

I honestly think Dannyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s performances are repetitive and the only performance of Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s that I really liked was Tracks of My Tears. But Adam has stage presence aplenty, which works in his favor!!

I agree with everything you said about Anoop. I don’t get how people are saying he’s arrogant when all he was doing was standing up for himself after getting screwed by Kara. Ryan was the one egging him on. Geesh.

  • november_rain

Kara’s frat boy comment was really unnecessary, that was a personal attack. It puzzled me that Anoopà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s college boy status has become his handicap. They try to portray him as this douchey frat boy. Seriously, is it so wrong to be in college and to actually have a social life? *asks the graduate student who loves to party*

As for Megan, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s her time to go, her performance in the last couple of weeks have been especially hard to watch. I always feel embarrassed for her when watching her performances. Her whole act during the elimination? I can relate, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a crazy bitch, just like her.

Agreed. Kara should be the one that thinks before she speaks.

I’ve never seen Simon out of his chair before. Is that what he’s really like, and the Simon the Mean Judge is sorta like Terry the Light Tech?

I mean, he was downright human.

  • http://airincaol.com coco

megan should have known her place!!!!!! Simon Rulz…I can nevaH get enough of seeing the “Simon” and the way he wears his hot Daddy jeans,,,,,a man in Daddy jeans is a recipe for a night of tuna casserole and hot lurve. Simon truly is the Wind beneath America’s wings…too bad we have to share him with his Home land. He provides US all with a great service and we should respect that. Idol-hunters are very rare.

did anyone else notice Kara talking to Anoop in the backgroundà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.

Man, you guys are observant. I totally missed that, so went back and watched it. After talking to Megan for about 10 seconds, she talked to him for ages!

She seemed to be giving him loads of advice. Lets hope it works!

  • rockvixen

Megan wanted to go home. She considered top 10 the goal she reached and to think Alexis was sent home before her. It makes me angry that Alexis who is the better singer and seemed to handle being away from her son is gone because of her.
