Check out first music video from Marcus Collins!

Marcus Collins, X Factor UK season 8 runner up, released music video for his debut single, a cover of White Stripes’ hit “Seven Nation Army”. Watch it below. Single will be released on March 4th and will be followed by album release a week later. Single’s B Side is Break These Chains, which was co-written by Marcus.

It looks like Marcus Collins is signed to RCA Records UK. It’s likely a joint deal between Syco and RCA Records. X Factor winners Little Mix are signed to Syco.

The Mirror reports that Amelia Lily Oliver, 3rd place finisher from last year’s X Factor UK, signed a three-album deal worth £500k with Xenomania. Xenomania is mostly known as songwriting and production team. They are responsible for most of Girls Aloud catalog and worked with Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Cher, Sugababes, Pet Shop Boys, The Saturdays, The Wanted and Rebecca Ferguson. Xenomania founder Brian Higgins co-wrote Cher’s international #1 hit “Believe”.

Umm Marcus sounded good in the song and he looked good in the video. But I absolutely hated the stupid hands in the video it didn’t make sense and it looked dumb. The video would of been better with just him strutting around looking hot and cool. And if you felt like you needed something more then add the girls dancing around NOT their hands groping and messing w/ him.

The arrangement of the song fits Marcus well.  I just don’t understand why his album is being released next month.  Why so soon, and will Simon and Company give him the proper amount of promotion.  I hope this won’t be like the release of Mary Byrne’s album.

    First reaction — who’s he?

Second place finisher on last year’s X Factor UK.

Wow…stupid, cheap, and unimpressive.  This was the second best X-Factor had….no wonder it didn’t live up to its early hype.

This is a carbon copy of Ben L’Oncle Soul’s cover of Seven Nation Army.

I was just coming in to post that Ray.  I like Marcus, but this is such a rip off of Ben L’Oncle Soul it bugs me.  If peeps like the song, please check out Ben’s version.  His album is on Itunes, and I really love it.  I prefer it to the  retro stuff Bruno pumps out.  And some of it is in French. Mmmmmm.

So anyway, good luck Marcus, but please do something original next time.

Hmm. Can’t edit. I was gonna add, I get that this was originally a White Stripes tune, but Ben L’Oncle Soul really flipped it, and it’s that version that Marcus is, um, borrowing/appropriating/stealing.

    I’m with you on that.
Love the original recording by White Stripes, love Ben L’Oncle Soul’s inventive cover.

Can’t say that I exactly appreciate the fact that TPTB not only went with a cover for first single but did not even bothered to rearrange the song in a way that it had not been done before.

I think I’m going to take your advise and check out more from Ben L’Oncle Soul.
    Any recommendations?
