Los Angeles Added as Final Season 10 Audition City

Exclusive UPDATE: So….I’m hearing that Idol producers ALWAYS had the Los Angeles auditions on the books in case they felt they needed more auditions.

Los Angeles was the fall back, and this week, Ken and Nigel decided they needed it.

I bet Nigel decided they needed it. Heh.

THIS JUST IN from AmericanIdol.com:

In celebration of the series’ momentous 10th anniversary and in an effort to give tens of thousands of hopefuls the opportunity to audition, American Idol will host auditions in Los Angeles beginning Wednesday, Sept. 22.

The 10th season of American Idol premieres January 2011 on FOX.

“This summer we have had an exceptional turnout – both in the number of people auditioning and the level of their talent, ” said Idol executive producer Ken Warwick. “Los Angeles has always delivered great talent, and so we feel it only fitting that we end our 10th season audition tour here in our home city.”

Check out this link for more information. Idol has already held auditions in San Francisco, Nashville, Milwaukee, New Orleans and East Rutherford.

If FOX ever puts together a judges’ panel, the judges round of auditions are set to begin sometime this fall.
