Little Mix – “Word Up!” – Single Premiere

No rest for Little Mix.

Little Mix to release the official Sport Relief single

This morning Little Mix visited BBC Radio 1 and premiered their new single “Word Up!” The song was originally released by American soul-influenced funk group Cameo in 1986. The Little Mix version is confirmed as the 2014 Sport Relief single and will be released on iTunes (UK) on March 16, 2014. The girls visited Liberia last week to film some footage for the event.

Sport Relief is a biannual charity event in conjunction with Comedy Relief and the money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.

You might remember One Direction released “One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)” last year to help Comic Relief 2013. Leona Lewis released “Better in Time”/”Footprints in the Sand” for Sport Relief 2008 and JLS released “Proud” to support Sport Relief 2012.

After the BBC Radio 1 visit, Little Mix jumped on a plane and reportedly started their 8 week promo tour. They are on their way to Japan now.
