Lil Rounds Interview Part 2

LOL. No comments at all. MJ’s has no love for Lil. Well, I will say that I hope Lil’s tour revenue allows her the opportunity to get her family a new house.

  • lovecert

The only interesting bit was I get to see the other contestants talk about Lil. I literally had to mute it when Jillian baited her with the Simon rebuttal.

  • ettacandy

Spence, nicely said. I too wish Lil well, and that she invests that tour revenue wisely.

The judges set Lil up for a fall when they over-praised her and then they had to tear her down in the end. It wasn’t her fault that happened. I think her talent is mediocre and she cannot hold a candle to Jennifer Hudson or Fantasia, nor to Latisha, Vonzelle, or Melinda. Again, that’s not her fault, though she is over-confident and doesn’t yet have a realistic grasp of her strengths and weaknesses. If she knew that she was singing flat and toneless, she could work on improving that.

I give her credit for making it this far, and for standing up for herself when the judges gave her incomprehensible and contradictory feedback. Though in the end it sounded a bit like denial. But denial is understandable given the way the judges pimped her for several weeks.

I think Lil did very well to make it to 7th place and can be proud of her final place. Ace is such a sweet guy with these contestants. I like to watch these vids just to watch him.

  • oceana

    Ace is a sweetie!

  • CC

I wish Jillian would shut up and stop interrupting Ace all the time. Actually, I wish they would just get rid of her altogether…she makes watching almost unbearable.

  • TwigLA

Good for Lil having made it as far as she could. The girl just didn’t have a strong enough sense of who she is and was too easily swayed by contradictory input from the judges. Much blame to AI for their ‘casting’ people without any consideration to who those people really are.

I wish her well and I’m happy she’ll be home for her baby’s birthday … and get to continue on in the tour.

  • Grammie Kari

Although I wasn’t impressed with Lil’s vocals, I will give her credit for proving that a woman with three young children can also be perceived as sexy.

I wish her well, and hope she finds a nice home for her family.

  • SharB

It’s interesting that her vocals didn’t come across the tv as “live.” I kept wondering why they kept saying how strong and good her voice was, but all I kept hearing were “klunkers” and horrid vocals. Too bad TPTB pumped her up so high that she forgot who she was and tried too hard to please them and we, the viewers, didn’t get it. For sure, there have been other R & B divas who were better, but she was still better than some in her out style.

I wish her much luck in the future. She has come a long way to make it as far as she did and that’s something she should take as a positive and overlook the negative.
