Lee’s stageit show was actually broadcast from the Gibson Showroom. He teased us with a few seconds of Flower Child during the show so I’m glad that he did as he promised and gave us this video. I like this new version of an old song, it’s one of my favorite songs in Slumberland.

I can’t believe Lee recorded Flower Child for us! We’ve been asking for more live performances of his old catalog songs and he finally came thru with this awesome version! Hope we get more, so many of us LOVE his pre-idol music. I know he wants to look forward but there are so many beautiful songs from Slumberland and So I’m Told, I’m hoping for more!

Flower child was one of my pre-idol favorites!   I love this slowed down version!  He sings with such heart and soul!

Not only is he an amazing singer/songwriter/artist; but he is also so good to his fans! He was asked by fans for Flower Child & so he recorded this & sent it out right away. Not many others would do that! I love the tone of the new music so much. This new album can not come out soon enough . . . & now he’s tweeting about how he can’t wait to get out on the road so we can have “a good ole time” lol! 

Aw, I love, love, love Slumberland. Hearing Flower Child was like meeting with an old friend that I hadn’t seen for awhile.

The passion Lee shows with every performance of every song just blows me away. This is such a great song from Slumberland and he does an amazing job with this version…LOVE IT !!!!!!

It is a huge treat for fans to hear one of the songs that we discovered when Lee was on Idol and proceeded to fall in love with his music. I’m looking forward to new stuff too but always nice to go back to some of these gems!

  Late post.  Lee’s song “Flower Child” showcases Lee at his best, IMO. 
Bought several pre-Idol tracks including this one.  It is absolutely
stellar!  Now if there’s a video of Lee singing “Annabelle,” I’m in
heaven.

To me, “Flower Child” represents Lee well and is the direction that he
should go in.  I am not sure how I would describe that type of music —
maybe folk rock with other elements folded in?

I don’t think Lee’s sound is particularly commercial right now.  But
then, most of what I hear on the radio is IMHO crap.  Unless the music
industry is going to let the diversity of American music (all the
different genres and sub-genres) die, it is going to have to figure out
how to market other forms of music in an era of very segmented and
narrow radio play.

If Lee makes music more in line with his pre-Idol music, I may well be interested in buying his CD or multiple tracks from it.

(P.S.)  Watch Lee’s body language and listen to the passionate
inflections in his singing.  THIS is the kind of music that makes Lee
happy, and accordingly, that translates to the audience’s experience of
his music.  When Lee plays the music that he loves, he has no problem
connecting with the audience.

Thanks, Lee, for singing Flower Child for us.  You know how to make your famiLEE happy!  I’m lovin your new music, too.  Can’t wait for you to go on tour…you are just incredible playing live!  oh, and Happyhexer, there is a great video of Lee singing Annabelle in studio, I believe…   Enjoy!

I’m glad that he make the video of Flower Child. Its already be my fav song ever since I heard it for the first time I bought my Slumberland. In fact, all of his music are incredible amazing. Very soulful. He puts his heart in every song he make. Lee is a very talented artist and genuinely a nice person. I believe that his time will come. For me, he is my shining star!!!

Thanks, Haventsleptyet & Mary and Danny!  I don’t consider myself to be a fan of Lee, so I don’t follow him, but as I said, I bought some of his pre-Idol tracks which I absolutely love.  I will take a look at “Annabelle” tonight when I am at a different computer.  (And even though I don’t consider myself a Lee fan, I would definitely check out his new CD if it closer in sound to his pre-Idol stuff than to his post-Idol CD.)

BTW, I do think it is helpful when fans post links to videos of their favorites here at MJs.  Like many people who post at MJs, I have my *special snowflake*, but I am predisposed to like Idols in general.  (Most of the CDs I have bought in the past few years since I got sucked into Idolworld have either been Idol CDs or country music CDs.)

But I digress.  What I meant to say is this: Kris Allen fans posted good video of Kris performing some tracks from his (then) upcoming second CD at The Mint, and the videos got me interested in checking out Kris’ new release.  I liked what I heard, bought the CD, and am a happy customer.  Trust me, I was NOT a Kris Allen fan.  Then!  :-D

The moral of the story is that it pays to be nice to the fans of other Idols because you never know who you might convert.
