I’m a couple days late on this, but better than never, right? Season 9 American Idol winner, Lee DeWyze debuted a few new songs at LA Live on August 8. The newly-married singer performed “We’ll Be Alright”, “Who Would Have Known” and “Breathing In”.

The new tunes find Lee going back to his folk/pop roots, which is a very good thing.

    I…

Nah. Never mind. Not worth it.

BeBopAnnie, it actually was publicized quite a bit on NBC since they have exclusive Olympics and related coverage. You just needed to be watching local news. I’m pretty sure I saw tweets about it as well. Probably via KISS retweets. I don’t listen to KISS or follow them.

THe songs sound good and it’s nice that Lee is back to his rootsy sound now that he’s away from the confines of his old label. If I recall, when he was on Idol almost everyone said that he had the best recorded voice.

    For wycheb:

    I …
tweet MJ about major Kris Allen news or appearances that I think might be blog worthy since that is who I mainly follow. I know she can’t possibly keep track of every single person from the many shows she covers here.

I’m not a fan of Lee (don’t dislike him either) but when I saw he was at LALive Olympic Village I posted it in the News & Appearances that day.

MJ does a good job with the material she has to work with.

Lee and 19 both tweeted about this performance, and I think the radio station (KIIS) did as well.  And MJ posted about it in the headlines thread the day of the performance. I knew about it beforehand, and I don’t even follow Lee.

But there are so many former Idols in the entertainment industry now that it is almost impossible to know what all of them are up to all of the time. Some things are going to fall through the cracks.

The song Lee wrote for his wedding, “Who Would Have Known,” really touches my heart. So many of his songs tell a story. His wife Jonna tweeted this picture from their wedding last night:

I think the song from Branson was “Little Did I Know”.

That picture could be used for some sort of wedding-oriented ad. They both look so great in it.

I can’t wait till the album is available, I’m assuming it will be available thru iTunes but I’m not sure about a cd? Would be nice to see it at my local Walmart but we will probably have to order it. :( thank you mj for posting these and I love the positive comments. Jonna was saying that his single will be out “soon”! Yay!

Wow! I’ve always loved Lee’s music; but in these songs, Lee’s voice really shines! He is obviously in an extremely happy place in life and it comes thru with his new music. This is definitely “Lee Style” music & I can’t wait for the new album!!! Guess the 8/21 StageIt concert will have to tide me over lol! Great job Lee; you never disappoint :)
