    Great performances by Lauren!

These were well done I think the whole show is on this friday on CMT at 10pm.

Please let these be her next two singles in no particular order.

Dirt Road Prayer is my absolute favorite.  I think this could be Lauren’s “Jesus Take The Wheel” if they would just release it.

I think they are testing DRP and I’m not One of Them because that is her new opening song on the Sugarland tour. INOOT appeals to a larger audience but DRP has a bigger emotional impact.

She performed DRP at the Easter service so I am sure there having debates.

I heard they taped more songs… perhaps holding it for the show?

  • BonnieDee

I also LOVE INOOT because of the positive message for young girls.  ”I”m not some notch on your Facebook wall.  I’m not some last-chance midnight call.”  Love that.

Don’t know that I’ve ever heard Lauren sound better. There’s something about Tupelo that makes me think summertime, but Dirt Road Prayer wouldn’t make me mad at all for the next single. I think both will eventually be released.

  • Chris

I was just checking my tweets and there was one forwarded from Charlie Daniels calling her lovely and talented following their joint performance at church. So cute bridging generations of country music.

Lauren sounds more polished and pro every time I hear her.  She is one song from blowing up but that song is not on Wildflower imo.

  • BonnieDee

I think Dirt Road Prayer could blow up.  We’ll have to wait and see.  She turns 18 in November and then she can put out a CD with more traditional country topics that doesn’t have to be as “age appropriate.”

I would love to see DRP or Tupelo be very successful but I agree she may need more mature subject matter.

Wildflower was a great teen album pointed to her young fans. Next time I bet we get grown up sass and love songs.

I was not a fan of Lauren during the season or even after that, during the tour.  But I am hearing something different here and I really like her voice in these performances.  She is showing a quiet confidence, like she is actually believing that she can do it rather than just manically acting that way.  And at the risk of sounding too creepy because she is so young, Lauren also looks great. I especially like Tupelo.

I LOVE Lauren. I always believed in her potential while she was on Idol.
He is now showing all of it. Cannot wait for her career to keep growing. She will be a force to be reckon with in the countries scene.
    Wish her all the best.

That Dirt Road Prayer performance is absolutely fantastic. I love Lauren’s phrasing and tone on it, it’s absolutely spot on and there’s no denying how heartfelt it is. She oversang Tupelo a little bit and the interpretation didn’t jell IMO but that was still good. And, Lauren’s become an old pro at making GP work live for what it is. Looking forward to seeing her performances of the other 2 (or 3?) songs from this set eventually.

She should frame that! I know a lot of people see the glass half empty and say oh she needs to sell records like Carrie to be successful but she has had some wonderful experiences. 2 years ago she was just a step above asking “do you want fries with that?” dropping pizzas and now she is on the same stage as Charlie Daniels.

I agree! Her voice sounds so beautiful and effortless. I was in J-Lo mode and had goosies toward the end of the song. I would love to see it be the next single.

Yes. I was honestly surprised at how good it was. Lauren never really caught my interest much during her season, but this song shows a ton of potential. She’s got a lovely tone and her phrasing is perfection. For a 17-year-old, this tender way of handling a song – not overselling, not over emotional – well, it’s damn impressive.

I also was not a fan when she was on Ai-I liked her OK but nothing stood out-I agree that she has become more confidant and I was very impressed with this performance-good for her.

I’m not a fan of Georgia Peaches but wow, this is my 1st time hearing Dirt Road Prayer…very moving song! Lauren has grown alot since Idol, I’m finally seeing the potential. I want to hear more. I want her to have a radio hit.

I don’t understand the fan-created Skylar/Lauren rivalry. Lauren doesn’t need to be a firecracker…Her style and tone seem perfect for the music she makes.

    Keep growing!

Wonderful performances! I love Dirt Road Prayer.  She has grown so much since Idol.  She’s so confident and looking very beautiful too.
