Update: TMZ is reporting:

UPDATE 11:26 PM ET: The suspect, William Balfour, has been taken into custody. Hudson’s newphew, 7-year-old Julian King is still missing, according to the FOX station in Chicago. Balfour is refusing to cooperate with cops or supply info.

From FOX 25 10 O’Clock News–a very succinct two minute report that sums up the time line of today’s murder of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother:

Neighbors heard gunshots at 8 or 9 am. Jennifer’s sister Julia found their mother dead on the livingroom floor around 3 pm. When the police searched the house, they found Jennifer’s brother Jason upstairs. Jennifer’s 7 year old nephew, Julian, was missing. Authorities believe that William Balfour, who may or may not be Julia’s husband, took off with Julian in Jason’s stolen white Suburban. Balfour’s got a long rap sheet. There’s an amber alert for Julian. Jennifer was due to land in Chicago within the hour…

    I feel for this family so much. I’m glad Jennifer has a sister because it would be worse if she had no one left of her immediate family. There is always a small blessing that you have to try and find in situations like this.

    I am very concerned for the safety of this child since he was not found with the suspect in question. I will be praying that there will be at least one happy ending to this horrible situation.

    I log in here and this tragic story greeted me. I’m shocked and so very sorry for Jennifer and the family. I hope the boy is found soon and safe.

    This is such a tragedy. I hope that the little boy is okay, and that Jennifer has had at least some private time to try and absorb this terrible news.

    And what’s up with the neighbors who heard gun shots, but didn’t report it?

    They admit to hearing gunshots at 8 or 9 AM and no one called the police? An ambulance could have been called and perhaps saved these people. Her sister didn’t find them to 3 PM. How awful for her sister to walk in the house and find what she did. So sad for Jennifer and her family.

    From the above captioned story:

    Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. Public records show one of Balfour’s addresses as the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were shot.

    The Cook County medical examiner’s office said autopsies for Donerson and Jason Hudson were pending.

    Balfour’s mother, Michelle, said her son had been married to Hudson’s sister, Julia, for several years, but they were separated. She also said Donerson had ordered him to move out of the family’s home last winter.

    Julian still hasn’t been found. They said this morning that Jennifer had been on vacation in Florida when she was notified. They showed a clip from her recent GMA appearance when she talked about what a beautiful time she was having in her life right now. My heart is breaking for her.

    I hope and pray that little boy is all right and returned as soon as possible.

    Very sad and shocking news. This must be so devastating for Jennifer. I pray that she will be strong enough to get through this very dark episode of her life.

    I spent some time last night looking at Julia’s MySpace and I’m sorry to say this guy Balfour looks like bad, bad news. Now, of course, we don’t know if he is the killer, but if so, that only compounds the tragedy for Julia. This is a horrible thing for any family to go through, but being in the public eye intensifies it, I think.

    You know, all the money, fame, and success in the world doesn’t change a thing when it comes to something like this.

    So true…right now Jennifer probably doesn’t care about everything that happened before yesterday in terms of her success. They are tiny symbols compared to her family who she lost…

    This is probably the saddest day ever for any Idol.
