I don’t think in 2003 the Idols stopped in Las Vegas for Season 2. Here’s a tour itinerary from http://www.livedaily.com/news/4990.html

Kelly and Clay went back out on tour and had a show at the Thomas & Mack in Las Vegas in March 2004, so maybe that’s what you were thinking about.

Anyway, it seems to me that it would be a no-brainer to have a show in Las Vegas every year, but I guess it goes by what other headliners are in town at the time. I remember sitting next to a flight attendant at Kelly/Clay. She said there was so much going on that night in Las Vegas that all of her buddies dispersed and went elsewhere. She explained that airline people are accustomed to buying single tickets on the day of a show if there are no flight delays.

Kelly & Clay only sold 5859, and AI4 sold 6288.

I’m so glad y’all enjoyed my recap. *feels all warm and fuzzy now*

To answer a few questions:

Cookcricket, we were in section 113, which is like the first level of stadium seating. They were decent for viewing, but not as close as you need to make good videos. We had to buy 3 tickets, so we just couldn’t afford to get any closer than that, but we were pretty happy with our seats in general. (Next time Cook comes to my town, I’m going to get CLOSE as I can though… )

Harborchick, the show lasted a little over 3 hours for us. It started at 7 with the warm-up guy coming out to get everyone hyped up with the Pop-Tart character and they had some guys shooting shirts out with a t-shirt gun. But that didn’t take long, so I would definitely try to get there and be in your seat promptly at 7 if you want to see Chikeze (and I recommend that because he’s great). (They also do a montage at the beginning with some of the people who made top 50 and such. It was cool to hear the crowd cheer for people like Josiah, Luke Menard, Jason Yeager and Danny Noriega.) I don’t remember the exact time when we left, but it was between 10:15 and 10:30 when we were leaving the venue to get to our car. So it’s about a 3 hour show, give or take a few minutes, I’m sure. Hope that helps!

Also, sorry about the lack of Chikeze video guys, but YouTube hates me or something. It just won’t process right. *kicks them*

Does anyone know how long the show lasts? I’ve poured through many reviews and am hoping for a time estimate. My tickets say “7 pm.” Does that include a preshow? What time was the last note sung? Thanks to anyone who knows.

Great recap and vids. I came across a video of DC and MJ doing the robot dance you mentioned. MJ does a little robot move at about 0:43 and DC and MJ dance at about 1:31. They only do it for a second or two, but it is cute.

Thanks Hoppy! Great recap, nice details! I’ll be seeing my first AI concert too and I get more and more excited with each recap and each video! I watched your “My hero” and “Billie Jean” vids of DC. I agree with some of the others that have stated they want the other AIs to be fresh, but I know I’ll never get tired of DC! I had viewed some from LV of the other songs he did and unfortunatley have work to do, otherwise I’d watch your others of him as well. Maybe later.

I hope, hope, hope, he’ll be doing this size crowd in the future!!!!

Can I ask what level you were sitting on? You really did a great job with the vids, esp., Hero, by getting both him and the screen in. It looked like the screen wasn’t as clear for Billie Jean, goodness there was a lot of fog!
