New York native, Lady Gaga, is currently on a world wide tour and unable to visit her old neighborhood in the wake of Hurricane Sandy’s devastation. But she posted a song for those affected called “No Floods” written when she was 16 years old. She also posted a little message on her Facebook.

east coast how are you holding up? How are you New York? Staying strong i hope, thinking of you all the time. Can’t even watch news feed. i wrote this song when i was 16. so weird to hear it now because of hurricane. “NO FLOODS” hope this will cheer u up http://youtu.be/gIV_dPpJqrQ

i’ll be there as soon as i can to help my old neighborhood. I’m on tour + can’t let my fans down. I want to help with my hands with all of u. In costa rica tonight for stadium show. Thank you so much to everyone for buying a ticket to the BTWBALL. I will leave my heart on the stage

The song is a piano ballad and reminds me a lot of an old Elton John/Bernie Taupin tune. Which means, I like it very much. Check it out.

Nice! I enjoyed that. Gaga can really sing. I agree with the Elton/Taubin vibe.

That was very heartfelt. My wife and I are in Long Island and we are blessed to still have our roof and to have power back. Gas lines are insane, and the destruction around us is just as bad as you see in the papers and on the news.

God bless anyone who is displaced or cold or left in the dark. The one positive note to all of this insanity is the sense of community we have regained in droves. People are coming together, and we remain strong in spirit, even if we are weak in infrastructure.

Very nice and heartfelt. When she comes back, the charity concert she’s sure to hold should raise tons of money.
