Has anyone heard any promotion in their local cities? Radio advertisements, anything? I'm betting most people don't even know the song is coming out Monday.

Richie, I really appreciate your honesty and viewpoint, even though I just happen to feel just the opposite. LOL Your explanation helps me understand.

I have never had any problem understanding Kris and I can actually understand his diction a whole lot better than most artists nowdays, but it may come down to accents and the way people talk. I think I may just happen to talk like Kris, even though I am from the Indiana-Kentucky border. My family is from further south and I got some twang myself. Or it maybe that Kris talks in a similar manner to me and it has nothing to do with accents or regions.

Something that I pick up from Kris in the snippet that I have loved about Kris overall is Kris's voice just seeps into my subconscious and Kris has a sneaky way of just sticking in my brain. It is like I don't hear Kris singing, but instead I am subconsciously thinking and feeling along with Kris.

I think I chose Kris as my favorite over the other guy who is my second favorite because Kris just connects to me on a deeper subconscious level, and as much as I love a lot of music, that subconscious ability is extremely rare and special. This is why Kris is my favorite. The subconscious connection. (Hope that made sense and that I don't sound crazy, it is hard to explain. LOL)

Richie,
I have my fingers crossed too. But, if it doesn't waste 'the voice', I think that we'll love it. They're all going to be ok. It's us that I'm worried about.

...cuz this is a Kris thread and all of a sudden you and I are talking about He Who Should Not Be Named Too Often. And, this is bad; very bad. We might not get to be older than sunlight if we offend the thread.

Thank you for being so understanding. I'm older than dirt so I probably should get lots of leeway on this subject of teeny popish music. I'm not even sure I'm going to like some of Adam's music. I just have my fingers crossed that everyone will be successful.

Hi ilovekrisallen39

I think you should go with richie's view of things. It means that you, at almost 40, are in the very youngish group !!! So, take it girl and work it ... while you still can. (I say this as I pivot, turn and run away with giggles)

Hey richie. Fair enough....... But you tried it! You get major points for experimenting and being open-minded ... I think that you are, perhaps, not a fan at this particular moment in time but you are obviously willing to try things out as they present themselves. So, you get 'substance' points for being open minded and, not being teeny popish, you get 'style' points as well ... God forbid anyone over the age of majority should ever regress to teeny popish. Scary isn't it?

Okay, I gave it a try and I'm probably not the one to be doing this because I have never liked Kris's voice, but I prefer the other guy's voice and I can understand the words better. Kris seems to be rushing too much through the words and they seem to run together to where I can't tell what he's singing. I don't know if it's just that I'm not a fan of his or what, but that's the way it sounds to me anyway. That said, it's not my style of music either. It's too teeny popish for me. They may be going for the very young set with him which leaves us oldies out.

OK, so when it's said that Kris' single is being released on Z100 in New York at 7:40, does that mean it will be available from iTunes to purchase at that time?

<blockquote>I'm not ready to help build up or tear down his possible career on 23 seconds.</blockquote>

This. And, I'm not ready to build up or tear down the release of this single based on 20 seconds. But, as I mentioned yesterday, I can really see Kris killing this song live, (based on the short clip, and the full version by the Script), and as Kris makes the round of TV shows, etc., to promote the song, that will be a big factor.

I didn't vote for Kris in the finals, but do like him, and got to appreciate him even more with the YouTube videos from the tour. I'm on the fence about my expectations of his career -- it's just waaaay too soon to tell how it will play out. But, I'm sure hopeful that he'll do well.

The Script haven't been flying totally under the radar. They were opening for Paul McCartney because Sir Paul ASKED them to do so. So, they were on his radar, and IMO, that's not a bad radar to be on. :)

I don't know much about the music industry, but I recall reading years ago that Sir Paul had no say about his singles. That was up to the record companies. So, I certainly had no expectations that Kris would have control over his first post-tour single.

I'm looking forward to hearing the full song, so I can make a better judgment about it, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Kris perform the song, (via YouTube or TV, at least), and seeing him bounce around the stage to it. He's gonna do an awesome job of it, I think.

I see your point Richie!!!

but (a little embarrassed) string dozens of those 24s clips together ...

and (trying to sound very humble) I have a good ear for tone of voice, inflection, sincerity etc. I'm pretty good at spotting 'fake' and 'hollow' in people's voices

... but don't take my word for it .. see for yourself. Go to Slezak's article so that you can flip quickly, back and forth, between Kris and The Script ... and compare ... see what you hear. Honestly ... take a few seconds and try it.

Plus ... pertinent trivia here:

Studies show that people are better at 'shit' detecting when they listen but can't see people speaking (i.e. we're a better judge of sincerity via radio than via television). Weird huh?
