So nice to wake up to videos! I found it interesting that he shortened LLWD (didn’t notice if the others were shortened, but I need to listen to CSA again). He took out the planes falling from the sky verse…. I’m thinking this was more than just a timing thing, given where he was.

Cute that he had finger puppets. Interesting about shortening LLWD, particularly taking out the ‘planes’ part. It is NYC and that will always be a touchy subject for many. Very sensitive of him to do that.

From the youtube videos, he and the band were in top form. The audience really sounded into it. YAY!

I don’t know…. but CSA would make a excellent second single! What A great job Kris did singing last night. I really think CSA should be his next single, I just love how he gets into that song while his singing it. And him and the band are getting better and better. I think Andrew is so good looking. I don’t know what it is about him but I find him so sexy. It was great to finally get my Internet back on yesterday. I missed so much the last week with just moving here to New York and finding a place to live. And then we had to wait a whole week for us to get are Internet and TV and phone turned on. I really think Kris has came along way. I enjoy him more and more every time I hear him sing.

LLWD is a “Breakout” on AT40 this weekend. That’s good for about 80 spins today and 200 spins tomorrow (some of these spins are unmonitored).

Next week, LLWD will lose all those extra spins because AT40 is doing its year end countdown, but due to the lag of that chart, these spins might get it on the chart once it starts up again (We The Kings’ “Heaven Can Wait” just made the chart at #40 this week and it’s just ahead of LLWD and it was a “Breakout” last week).

Should be a good update going into the freeze.

Z100 NY Radio site has 155 pics of Kris and band. Really nice and from about 143 on, they feature the band and the big screen. I appreciate that because the guys in the band must have been thrilled too…..a crowd of 20,000! They all looked great.

Want to thank Kirsten, girlygirl, Truthiness and the others that are so great in providing so much great stuff each and every day. Hope you realize how much we appreciate you all.

I’m really enjoying watching Kris perform his songs live, he’s got such a joie de vivre about him, love it! Kris and Allison are my favs this year, and really hope they do well. I’ve done my part, and bought 3 copies of each, lol. Only one for me, the other two are Christmas gifts for my nieces.

Hey, did anyone notice Kris had a black arm band on his jacket for the first number, CSA? I thought so. Maybe it was because the arena was so much larger than Sacramento and peeps weren’t as close to him?

I love this song too, Seeker. It just creates so much energy and peps me up! And I love the guitar riffs! Oh, my husband has only heard Kris’s CD once, so last night I played CSA and AWM for him and asked him which he liked better. He liked both of them a lot and said they would both be good singles. Football (soccer)/Cricket Players are known to wear black arm bands to express grief, if say someone significant dies.

But, sylvanaire, this not the case for Kris. if you look at bigger pics of that jacket, there’s another thinner strap of black cloth attached close to the collar, that goes under his arm and around to his back.
(Tho he lost his grandma in around August or Sept, I think.)

This is AWESOME news – perfect timing for LLWD on Pop. Someone at ONTD_AI talked to the people at Rick Dees HAC 40 countdown and was told Kris’ hosting segment will be aired in January. I wonder if they are waiting to play that when LLWD hits Top 10 on HAC, which it certainly seems headed for.

Good report on iTunes, too. We will probably see LLWD move beyond its previous peak this weekend, especially with 3 Glee songs still ahead of it (those should drop down in the next couple of days).

“Can’t Stay Away was fabulous and funky (and DAMN Andrew’s guitar solo, and the part at the end when Cale came forward to play guitar, too, and Kris was jamming with them – I adored that), Heartless/Gangsta’s Paradise was so great to hear in person (audience sang along to Heartless, and was stumped by Gangsta’s Paradise – poor deprived tweenage audience), and Live Like We’re Dying was both great on the part of the band, and super-exciting to hear everyone singing along. My heart was just overflowing with love.

I was watching Kris take photos with CRACK and Allison, and dance around with Ryland, and do a whole “hands into the circle, go team!” thing with CRACK prior to their set [..] I was watching Kris chat with people in the lounge, and clap politely or participate when the performers said to. The one thing that Kris did not have enough credit for is his brilliance in picking songs (or strategy) in AI. I think people (me included) think that this laid back guy is just so relax, see what happen, take it one day at a time – guy; but he is super smart, he knows the audience and how to reel them in. Who knows what’s going on in his head. Personally that is a big part of his winning AI.

Talking about strategy, I wonder why he came up to do CSA in a jacket and in front of all these tweens / girls, took the jacket off to do the other songs. Hhhmmm . And I’m not complaining at all here. :)

Yep, Mediabase doesn’t seem to have updated quickcut numbers for today… still showing yesterday’s (through dec 10). There was something on the website that the final reporting dates for 2009 are Dec 14/15 … so I think we are going to be going through withdrawal sometime soon either way.

Eileen and girlygirl definitely do a better job of keeping track of the iTunes stats and adds than I do, but thanks for the shout-out.

Now, just to prep everybody for the coming weeks, the AT40 won’t be for current songs until Jan 9/10th so all the new spins will be gone until then (hopefully, LLWD will stay high enough that he’ll be picked up by the chart in the new year). The good news is that some of the songs above LLWD will also be losing those spins as well (and no new, up and coming song will get them either). Nevertheless, odds are he’ll see a negative spincrease the following week. No need to panic.

Looks to me like Kris will end the week at #30 on Pop (I think there is one recurrent, maybe two?), and #16 on HAC. Boy, lots of songs are dropping quickly on the HAC chart, so if things hold, LLWD looks in a very good position on this format for the beginning months of 2010.

I get confused by the different charts. If Kris is sitting at 31 in pop, why is LLWD the “breakout” song? Is AT40 the same thing as Ryan Seacrest’s show? Someone please enlighten me!

Well, AL has had a lot of TV appearances and other high profile appearances lately (The View, Barbara Walters, ???), so I meant it’s surprising his numbers didn’t pick up MORE. (sorry)

Another interesting tidbit. I’m guessing there wasn’t a lot of love for John Mayer last night by the bieberboppies but maybe some love for Kris. JM’s album is at 29 (go Kris!) and his singles are at 96 and 181. (LLWD is currently at 105.)

If Kris was in the Atlanta airport rathr than simply staying in NYC — when he has to be in Philly tomorrow — there are a bunch of possibilities, ranging from chilling with friends/family to appearing with Allison at her gig later today, to doing some recording/writing with someone who is based in or currently appearing in Atl, to trying to get a sponsorship from Coke and/or Chick-fil-A

I’m assuming if he had an appearance, he would’ve said something about it, so I’m thinking he’s either chilling wth friends/family or doing some recording

A bullet indicates that a song is gaining spins. It shows positive momentum. Songs lose the bullet when they don’t have more spins than the previous week.

AT40 is the Ryan Seacrest weekly countdown show (Ryan also has another syndicated show where he just plays songs). The AT40 doesn’t have songs go recurrent (songs on the Top 40 chart go recurrent when they’ve been on the chart more than 20 weeks and fall below 20. For instance, Justin’s “One Time” is at 32 and just passed 20 weeks on the chart, so it will disappear tomorrow afternoon. Also, Taylor’s Swift “You Belong With Me” which just fell below 21 and has been on the chart for 25 weeks. But this doesn’t happen on the AT40).

Also, the AT40 chart lags behind the real chart by several weeks. For instance, Orianthi has been in the top 30 for a while, but she just made the AT40 chart this week.

I was throwing that out there because I know Atlanta’s where they’re headquartered (and I know that because they’re involved in buying the College Football Hall of Fame and moving it out of South Bend, IN where I live, to Atlanta). Kris loves college football, too, btw. Ooh, another tie in! My mind is spinning! :-)

It’s called being lazy on a Saturday and stalking twitter. Depending on your point of view, applications such as TweetDeck are either a blessing or a curse… real-time streams of people’s tweets that include the words “Kris Allen” make it very easy to find this stuff… and beyond that, Google is your friend.

It’s addicting, really. Once the whole Atlanta thing started, it was just a matter of time until something else appeared to give it away :D One of these days I’ll declare it a social-media free day, but not yet :D

you shouldn’t worry… he’s singing 3 to 5 songs a gig lately. Usually a show is over 20 songs. I know he’s doing a lot of traveling but don’t forget he’s only 24!! If he is having a good time, there is nothing to worry about! really..

I don’t think so, because Cale’s tweets didn’t say anything about travelling today.

And don’t worry too much about Kris — he and Katy are going to go home for the Christmas holidays — he should be able to get 5-7 days off, because his lat JingleBall thing is on the 18th and then he has the Fox NYE thing on the 31st. I’m assuming he won’t take all that time off, but 5-7 days should be doable. And January seems to be mostly rehearsing for his tour — don’t know how muh promotion he’ll be doing — there’s nothign on the schedule for Kris, Adam or Allison in January that I’ve seen on the various updated schedule of appearances.

Based on Cale’s tweets this morning, I kinda thought maybe he was traveling (and Kris tweeted right around the same time, so I assumed they were together..)

Mtlfan and girlygirl, thank you for trying to calm me down. The source of my worries must have been the fist videos I saw from last night, the sound wasn’t very good and I thought Kris wasn’t at top form but in the others he sounded pretty well so everything is fine.

I THINK the highest LLWD has ever been on the pop iTunes chart is #13 — but don’t quote me on that, because I’m not sure.

I don’t know if this has been said because I’m doing a quick drop in, but one thing that struck me was Kris took the time to thank Z100 for playing his record and inviting him to perform. In my opinion, the all important radio people have got to love that! I think he was again having a ball, ecstatic and in awe of where he was performing. Hearing the people singing along must have been a surreal and glorious moment. Those are the things that make following a young artist’s career the most fulfilling and enjoyable.

Had to leave for a while (can you believe my hubby wanted to take me to dinner??), but I’m thrilled to see that the Atlanta mystery is solved. At dinner, as my hubby babbled, I was thinking maybe Kris was at a private party for Chik-Fil-A, but the radio station party is a great connection for him, too. Do we know, though, why he tweeted that he had “chicken on the brain”? Hmmm…(*tucking corporate sponsorship away for another time*).

Anyway, GREAT news about LLWD! Is the album moving upward at all? I heard it in my car (the best way!) yesterday and my daughter heard it at 10 pm, so my station is playing it several times a day now. Makes me very happy…can’t imagine how it made Kris feel at MSG!

And bowling after playing the Garden? Kris is such a dork! Love him! :-)

I am so pleased Kris got to perform at MSG & after watching the videos looks like he & the band did a superb job!! It must have been so thrilling for Kris & the band to look out in the crowd & see so many joining in!!

Z100 & NY have certainly embraced LLWD & it was heartening to hear Kris give them a thumbs up for this. He is so gracious!!

Also – Kris cutting out the verse about the planes – just shows you how aware & compassionate Kris is . Words of songs hold a lot of meaning for him – so this just shows another side to him which is adorable!!

Yep, very different (and funny) name, but they are awesome so keep your ears open for them! Great guys, I’ve gotten to know them as my hubby and his partner have opened for them twice in the last year! Young and good lookin’. ;) They’ve been here in Dayton, Ohio four times this past year at the best small music venue we have! We didn’t know what to expect from them the first time, lol, and we’re Christians. :) However, their music is emo packed! (They have a trombone player who is amazing, lol!) Sorry for the OT, but had to mention since you’re from that state! (This all suddenly struck me last night.)

As for the examiner’s article he was kind of asking for the fanwars from the title alone. I didn’t read the comments (I avoid them for my sanity, I watch American Idol and listen to music in order to enjoy myself not to get depressed) but I can imagine. If you don’t want fanwars just don’t mention Kris and Adam in the same article but that’s what brings hits so…we won’t be able to avoid it anytime soon.

“Same old, same old”- No, its typical for articles about ANYTHING to receive comments. This is not unique to the idol world or to Adam or Kris. It happens on political and sports blogs as well as entertainment blogs.
