After his concert was cancelled at the LA Spring Fair Sunday, Kris Allen & team scrambled to put together a not so secret midnight show at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. This gathering was special treat for his dedicated fans and others.

Unofficial setlist: CSA, WAOMF, IIO RG, EWTRTW/TWYMMF, SMAYA, new “Shut That Door & Keep That Devil Out”, SIAM (1st time full band), Leave You Alone, AWM, LLWD & Come Together.

    Andrew isn’t so much the hipster dude who was a little hard to talk to, is he? Which is nice because he’s a very cool guy…and a fantastic guitarist

    I’m so late to this party but I just have to remark on girlygirl’s comment here. Andrew has become my new crush. I met him at a Tulsa show last year and he really impressed me with how nice he was. I asked him to sign the setlist I caught and he said sure but before he did he asked my name and shook my hand. I don’t know, that just really stuck with me. Then I messaged him on Facebook and thanked him for being so nice, said he and the band were great, etc etc. A few months later he replied to me. Said he didn’t check Facebook often but he thanked me for writing. I was impressed he wrote me back. So yeah I have such a soft spot for Andrew.

    I’m so glad Kris (or rather Sirk) was able to do this show. I’m digging the new song.

    I’m finally back to this thread after taking my house guest of five days to the airport. I’ve only been able to listen to Shut That Door – and of course I love it. Can’t wait to hear the rest.

    I played it for my fourteen year old son – who is of course very much a music critic. He liked the song – and after one listen, I caught him singing it. :) Also, he was very impressed with the “Sirk and the Dirty Minds” moniker – “Kris Allen is really creative, Mom.” Yeah, I knooow.

    It’s always fun to see the familiar names of Kris fans here – thanks everyone for all the posts. Thanks Ratna12 and Girlygirl for the stories. And thanks Scott for the pictures. Thanks Tripp for all your infomative posts. Thanks again MJ for the thread.

    4/29/11 – Toad Suck Daze (Conway, Ark)

    I wonder what time the concert is ? That Friday is my Friday off, but I figure I won’t be able to rest at all since I’m one of those people who loves Royal Wedding and planning to see it live.

    I can’t stop listening to this new song. I hope Kris sticks with this sort of “dirty” soul sound. You can hear it in Adele’s Rolling in the Deep and in the Urban/Mayer/Jones Jolene Grammy performance, both of which are/were wildly popular. Can’t wait for the new stuff to come out!

    I was surprised that Ryland still came to CA since his brother was filling in. They look to me as a close knitted band and that’s good

    Late to the party too — didn’t realize the videos were posted.

    Man, Kris sounds great!! I am so looking forward to album #2 which I have a feeling will be much better — more time to write, think, arrange, record, and none of that Idol-hangover pressure.

    To me his voice is sounding so strong and sure. I think he could win this year on AI, handily.

    The new song is a stone blues, and I love that. Hearing the good boy get down and growl it, yeah! “Stuck in the Moment” wonderful also.

    Does anyone know if he’s going to perform this year on Idol?? Any rumors??

    Colette: Not sure if he’ll sing on Idol this year, but he did mention that he’d be in the audience for the final. And maybe if a single was out he’d love to come on and sing if it could be worked out.(some thing to that effect) That song is awesome, I really hope if I go to Alive Fest, He’ll sing this one. I just love this and Kris said this CD well be the kind that show’s him more as the kind of artist he wants to be.(something to the effect). And if that song and LYA are what the cd is going to be like, I’M really on board with that. Kris just gets better and better every time you hear him sing.
