No one, it is still awesome news, a lot of teens and 20somethings watch, and it is a demographic that I think is important for Kris to catch on with. I still remember the first time I saw Lady Gaga was on SYTYCD and I loved it.

This is good news although from what I’ve observed, the songs that were played during the dance routines tend to have bigger bumps than the songs performed by their guest artists. Maybe someone can confirm/deny this with the digital sales of the songs performed vs the songs played.

It depends on which song has been chosen for the choreography. He will then perform that song. And of course like all the artist showing yp there, he will perform his single

Well, it doesn’t always work for everyone. But, here we’re talking about the winner of a Fox reality competition appearing on another Fox reality competition. Odds are good that there is some cross-over audience, and that at least a portion of that audience will be those viewers who have not yet been made aware that Kris’s cd is out.

Yay Yayyayay (yes, insert obligatory ‘arms flailing in the air’). I love SYTYCD — Go ellenore and ryan, btw. To add in my favorite new singer to one of my favorite TV shows — priceless.

It is great news. You know, I was listening to Kris’s album and there are a few songs that would really work for the early episodes on AI–like Lifetime or Let it Rain or even Live Like We’re Dying for a no-time-like-the-present personal story. He has such a nice sound–it would be great to hear him.

BTW–I read on here that someone thought that there might be an AI promo featuring Kris like David Cook’s last year. Any more news?

I think there is amore of a bump for choreography performed then guest appearances but this is a great appearance for Kris to have. Last season (5, during the summer) there was a performance done to Kris’s Heartless (AI studio version) and it bumped it a bit in downloads.

Well this is good for SYTYCD too, because they’ll get at least one new viewer for their Wednesday show! Me!

I agree! David Cook’s Permanent was used on Canada’s SYTYCD and it was just beautiful! I hope Kris does perform one of his lovely ballads. That along with a choreographed dance would be something to see.

Great exposure for Kris! SYTYCD has a big audience. Maybe he can kiss one of the male dancers and end up on every news outlet….I think I like the no drama better to be honest.

What is the viewer count for SYTYCD this year? I understand the show hasn’t been doing as well as it did when it was a summer filler. And, sads, but Glee won’t be on next week so it will be interesting to see what Fox fills in with to help boost the night along.

Unfortunately I think we’ll just be getting the one song. I read down to the bottom of the press release (posted in the Sacramento Jingle Ball thread) and that’s all they mention. The performances are in reference to Kris’s (1) and the Wonder Girls (1). (I think.)

This is a nice added bit of PR – and I will definitely watch (another added viewer for SYTYCD!). And I know a couple folks wondered yesterday why Kris wasn’t the one replacing Adam on Jimmy Kimmel. Even if he didn’t have a packed schedule, I’m glad he’s not doing it, TBH. The whole “2nd choice to Adam / Stole the opportunity from Adam” theme that some would latch on to would overshadow the event. Allison probably won’t have to deal with too much of that, since there really aren’t Allison vs. Adam comparisons going on.

THis is great news! I’m looking forward to it. There are quite a few songs on his album that would work well with interpretive dance. I’ve been hoping some of his new music would be featured on SYTYCD and/or DWTS.

Kris doesn’t need controversy or shocking news to sell. He just needs people being exposed to his music. That and distance from the whole AI competitive nonsense.

A big NO on an addition to the Katy and Kris family …. unless it’s a puppy for Christmas – adopted from the shelter. Pretty sure Katy said she’s in no hurry to play Mommy. She’s working on an acting career.

And, sads, but Glee won’t be on next week so it will be interesting to see what Fox fills in with to help boost the night along.

No reason to be sad. Glee is on next week. Dec 9th is their “fall season” finale. Orginally, the season was going to be only 13 episodes long so this episode will tie up the loose ends for the episodes which have been airing all year. Then, they got picked up for 9 episodes for the rest of the television season so that’s almost it’s second season.

Glee won’t air again for quite some time due to Idol, so this will be the last new episode for a long time. It’s called “Sectionals” and promises to have lots of big reveals (don’t want to spoil people).

So, if anything, it will probably be a big night for Glee and Fox. Not a bad night for Kris to be on the same channel. Yay!

I’ve noticed DC doesn’t always get a lot of recognition, but I’ve also noticed Kris always mentions him when he talks about successful idols.

Someone asked earlier about the promo for Season 9. All I know came from Kris’s tweet:

I’ve been watching SYTYCD for more years than AI – I love that show and the tours are fantastic! I am so excited for Kris to get exposure on this show. This will definitely boost sales for him and give him great exposure – especially coming right before GLEE.

The way the results night is set up, he should be performing only 1 song unless he chooses to do a mash-up or medley of some sort (which I doubt). The interesting thing to me is that typically the artists featured have back up dancers perform with them (tho not all of the time), and for some reason I can’t see any type of back-up dancers for LLWD. I think it would be odd for him to do any other song than LLWD since that is the only single he has officially released at this point.

LOL! They do that because the ontd_ai site as a whole can get a little explicit in terms of language and/or discussing the various Idols at times. That’s why they usually end up locking a lot of the threads as well.

Yes! Any exposure & publicty is GOOD and that’s what Kris needs right now to make up for all the lacking/overshadowing in the past 5 months! He just needs to let more people hear his new music and let them know that his album is out.

I will be at the Worcester show on Monday too! I have tickets very close to the stage, can’t wait! Since it is a ‘Acoustic Xmas’ show, I am thinking he will be singing some Christmas music but I am also hoping he sings some of the slower songs we haven’t heard him sing yet, like ‘The Truth’ and one of my favs ‘Bring It Back’.

I’m sure Adam will be performing there sooner or later. So far I see pretty much most if not all of Kris TV appearances, Adam was or will be there plus some other gigs Kris didn’t even get to do.

As usual, I’m late to the party, but this IS a Kris Allen thread. Must we talk about the other guy here?

Hey, didn’t a couple perform to Kris’ cover of “To Make You Feel My Love” for their audition. The small routine they did was ballroom dancing coupled with figureskating lifts. It was beautiful, and Kris’ dreamy vocals made it so touching!

I also envision someone doing a solo contemporary routine on “I Need To Know” starting at “Feel so far away…” to the rising, swelling “I Need To Know”… I can just see it!
