He sounded so good on that one verse. Usually, he doesn’t like when people ask him to sing on the spur of the moment, remember how he was when he went to the I Can Dream House. I don’t know why he gets so shy, since he has an incredible voice. I wanted him to sing the rest of LLWD during that press conference.

Mtlfan, as always thank so much for backing up gg while she’s at the concerts. Oh, and welcome back from your vacation! I hope you had a great and restful time!

I just got home from the concert and it was great. I’m tired and think most people are already in bed but I took notes so I might as well make use of them.

Angel Taylor was a surprise – very interactive and cute acting – in addition to having a really nice voice. When she first started the place was only about 20% full and was about 50% full by the time she finished so a lot of people missed out but the ones who were there gave her a lot of love.

Kris was awesome. I have always liked Kris and loved his voice but sometimes I found his performances a little boring. Just let me say – he has come a loooooong way since the last time I saw him (AI tour). He moved around a lot, did some dancing, was very engaging with the audience and put on a really fun show. My only complaint is that it was too short. I sure wish I could see him do a headlining show. I loved that his band did all of the backup singing. He has a really good band.

The place was about 75% full during Kris’ set and the audience was enthusiastic and sang and clapped with him on queue. My favorite Kris song is AWM and he did not disappoint me. It was awesome and had great audience participation. I was proud of him for getting their attention because it seemed like most people didn’t know who he was at first.

One kinda funny/semi-uncomfortable moment was when he said, “For those who don’t know, my name is Kris Allen and I was on American Idol.” He got very little reaction which seemed to show not many people knew who he was or didn’t like hearing that (not sure which). He then said that MITM was the first song he sang on Idol and pretty much took control of the crowd with that song. People were very enthusiastic in clapping and cheering for him the rest of the set.

The couple sitting beside me didn’t know Kris before tonight. I could hear them and when he sang TT the woman said, “Oh, I’ve heard that before.” and then about LLWD said, “I know that song. I like that song.” and when he was finished with his set she said, “WOW, he’s really good.” New fan, yay!!!

There was a couple behind me that made me laugh. After Kris’ set the woman asked the man what he thought of Kris and he said, “Alright with me” and sang “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah”. It was cute. Another new fan, yay!!!

When the BNL show started some Kris fans left but not many. Unfortunately, the BNL fans around me were kinda irritated by it though. BNL is a band I was not familiar with before tonight but they were also really good and very funny. They had me laughing several times. “One Week” was the only song I had heard before. At the end they did a little dance skit/medley of some current pop songs. The whole thing was hilarious but I died laughing when they did Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” All in all, tonight was a really great show.

madnessinmotion – thanks for the great recap! I’m glad you had fun. I’m always surprised when people leave concerts early. You paid the money, you might as well listen to everybody! You never know when you’ll become a fan. I’ve heard that BNL puts on a fantastic show. Their concerts are known for their hilarity, LOL. So even if you’re not a fan of their music, you’ll have fun despite yourself!

I think he tries to stick with the more up beat and up tempo songs, since his job as opener is to pump up and engage the audience. While Red Guitar is a nice song, it might not be the best song choice to perform for people who aren’t familiar with Kris and his music. That, like I Need To Know, are songs that are more for fans of the album.

Forgot to thank madnessinmotion for the recap. I wish The Truth was doing better on radio, or at least that AWM was out, so that Kris lure in these new people who are seeing him in concert.

thank you madnessinmotion for your great recap. Some Kris fans got free tickets for the show, I guess that’s why some left; I wouldn’t if I had paid $75 for my ticket and even for free I would have stay, BNL seems to put on a very good show
