Kris Allen Red Carpet Interview: His Album and Life after Idol

Okay, anybody that complains about Kris’ awkwardness trying to answer the questions…the interviewer was driving me NUTS. Every time she would ask a question, he would START to answer…and then she’d interrupt with an explanation of the question? Geez!

That being said, I’m glad she asked a lot of music questions…twice each.

“ummm, yeah, ummm”…oh, lordy Kris, I could make a drinking game out of your interviews. love the guy, but he does drag out his answers. make it quick and to the point, especially for the red carpet…this type of interview is different than a sit down.

Yes, that was annoying how she kept doing it. Kris was a good sport.

On a sidenote, LLWD finally made it to WTMX’s Morning show. I do believe it’s the top HAC station in Chicago.

@ Ex-lurker So Eric & Kathy played it during their show? If so, did they say anything? I’m hoping they might do some promo with Kris before the 12/4 concert. I’m in Chicago and have been kinda stalking WTMX for LLWD radio-play… never bothered to listen in the a.m. though since hardly any music is played then. I was happy to hear LLWD on the drive home on Friday night– very satisfying!

He seems to enjoy more the interview stuff now so he looks and sounds more confortable.

He just always makes me smile. He’s a thinker that one. Which of the idols said he doesn’t talk much, but when he does it means something? Maybe the media should get a hold of that idea. If not, that okay, he’ll still always make me smile.

mmk28, the second interview you linked is the same as the first interview! When you view it, you can see the link for the rockerrazzi interview to the right on you tube. Perhaps you could repost it (I’d just screw it up or I’d do it! Ha!). They are all cute interviews–love his happy face!

The interviewer was driving me nuts the way she kept pulling the microphone away just as Kris was starting to answer her question.

seems pretty neutral for me

OMG, that interviewer just kept thrusting that mic in his face and interrupting him. STFU, lady interviewer! GAH.

Of course he was adorable.

The interview wasn’t as bad as I thought after reading the comments!! Seems like the interviewer was just enthusiastic & was adding to her question a couple of times!! Kris as usual was cool & seemed unfazed !!

Heard LLWD on Houston station 96.5 KHMX today. The DJ introduced it as new from American Idol winner Kris Allen. 104.1 KRBE has been playing it sporadically for a week or two now.

“So, is everything good with your wife?”

Did she follow that up with a really forced wink and a nudge, as if to say “hint hint!”? Ha! Just kidding. She just sounded a little eager with that one.

I like all of his answers in this interview! The interviewer was a little annoying but he was polite and tolerant of her, so, kudos to him.

I dont’ know or get where Katie has any problems with her husband, neither his interview or his songs. I just honestly think she gets the entire thing…from the soundbires, to the interviesx to the fans who want to make her seem like franenstine, yeah she gets it.

His publicist needs to have a word with him for many things (perhaps for the mumbling which caused the misunderstanding of what he said, for his standards though he speaks pretty clear here) but not for this particular one. He says “I do have a favorite track, it’s this song that I wrote a couple of years ago, it’s called red guitar”. Also it seems he would have elaborated on the “no” he said if the interviewer had let him to do so.

These interviews were much better than the E!Online. The female interviewer was a bit frenetic. It made me edgy watching that mic go back and forth before he had a chance to answer.

Very interesting that Kris didn’t even know he was nominated for an award until he heard it announced. Especially since we all did. He must have a life or something. How thrilling that must have been for him.

Hey, Kris only said that LLWD isn’t his favorite song on his album and which one is. I think it’s great he has the confidence to really promote the one that is purely his.

Kris is very accommodating to fans and reporters. Very nice guy!!!

It’s fine with me that Kris says he has another favorite than his single on his cd. That’s honesty and i don’t think it’s a bad pr move. For people who likes the single, it opens the door to more interest for the rest of the cd.

He’s a very nice guy and it’s cool that he got that feedback from some press people

I really enjoy Kris’s interviews. He is so unpretentious, spontaneous, and pleasant. And, gosh, Kris has a fabulous voice even just speaking. He is such a delightful person, I don’t think I’d trust anyone who doesn’t like Kris- like goes to like – and he’s like an adorable unconditionally loving puppy.Kris is so genuine, that meeting him would be completely comfortable for anyone.

Well, you misquoted him…

She’s (interviewer) is hard to keep up with, but I’ll start here:

‘Is that one your favorite track on the album?’ 
‘I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite track, um ‘“’ 
‘Do you have a favorite track off the album?’ 
‘I do have a favorite track, it’s this song that I wrote a few years ago, it’s called Red Guitar.’ 

I don’t see anything wrong with this answer! And I doubt his publicists do because he always says in interviews that Red Guitar is his favorite.
They haven’t stopped him yet so I guess they’re cool with that.

There’s no reason to say your single is your favorite song on your album. There are 12 songs you want people to buy, so why give people the idea reason to believe the first one you released is the best, and the rest aren’t as good?

(It looks like he intended to say something positive about LLWD, anyhow, but she wasn’t even letting him answer one question before firing off another.)

Actually considering the way she was interviewing him if I were his publicist I think I’d be delighted, since he was never ruffled, thought really quickly in his feet, etc. And if he was the only artist to bother to talk to the non-mainstream press ‘” another win.

Kris did great in this interview. Enough said!
