People magazine got an exclusive reaction from Kris Allen to Adam Lambert’s admission in his Rolling Stone cover story that he found his Idol roomie “cute” (And so thinking someone’s cute = having a crush on them? Whatevs.):

In his Rolling Stone cover story, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert admitted he’d been crushing on his roommate in the Idol mansion, Kris Allen.

“I was like, ‘Oh, s—, they put me with the cute guy … Distracting!” Lambert told the magazine. “He’s the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group on the show … totally my type à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ except that he has a wife.”

Allen’s response? “I’m flattered,” the Idol winner tells PEOPLE exclusively, “And think it’s hilarious.”

Kris is both a good sport and tres cool.

  • girlygirl

I said this in another thread, but…

Kris is seriously one of the coolest guys ever.

    And KRADAM RULES!

  • kate09

    Long live Kradam.

  • Sunn

Kris is both a good sport and tres cool.

That he is. His personality never fails to impress.

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

I never understood why peeps thought he’d have a problem with it. I’m sure Adam probably told him, anyway. LOL.

I agree Kris is tres cool. He continues to impress. :-)

  • JenG

LOL. That’s why Kris thinks it was hilarious. Adam never actually said he had a crush.

I think the two of them are getting a kick out of the media’s total ridiculousness.

  • Mary102

Very cute! I loved the revelation in RS that Adam was stuck with the one guy he found attractive – don’t know why, it just adds to the Kradam awesomeness!

I seriously just want a Kradison and/or Kradam reality series for the summer – just following them around everywhere :-) Ok, I know they want their privacy, but I just need some candid moments of them joking around! We only got a hint of it on the show and in interviews, and only really toward the end of the show.

  • Tess

There are basically two kinds of people out there. Those who “get it” and those who don’t. Kris is totally the “get it” type of person. Kudos.

I say this so often that I feel like a damn broken record, but for the umpteenth time. Kris and Adam are both so comfortable in their own skins…and from what little I know about both of them I will say that they are marvelous reflections of how they were raised and what kind of families and parents they came from. You can’t teach kids how to be this magnaminous, you can only direct them and work with them. Obviously, Kris and Adam had this kind of an upbringing in spades.

And to Kris….way to deflect the press. You just shot the negativity and provacativity down with a few choice words!

  • wellhesback

Yep, Kris Allen is Very Cool. I’m glad he won.

but I wish being an adult wasn’t so rare, apparently. and everyone who still paints him as an Arkansas yokel – the guy has traveled outside the US! I’m a firm believer that travel, esp. to less-well-off places, really helps people grow and put things in perspective. It probably helped him.

  • cay

I may, just may, just a tiny tiny little bit, may be starting to like Kris a teeny bit!!

Seriously though, he never said crush. It was just his first reaction to the whole thing. Adam also describes him as a brother, and clearly their relationship has grown and developed into a close, brotherly one. I never thought Kris would do anything but laugh. Does anyone really think this is the most outlandish thing Kris has heard Adam say??? We can only imagine.

  • Eileen99

KRADAM is the best thing that’s happened on American Idol in a long, long time.

  • Mary102

but I wish being an adult wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t so rare, apparently. and everyone who still paints him as an Arkansas yokel – the guy has traveled outside the US! I agree — not to get too preachy, but I think ignorance breeds so much negativity and hatred. I’ve travelled a lot too, and I live in a very diverse, ethnically and socially speaking, area of the country, and I completely equate those experiences with being so much more open as an adult – you just learn to accept and appreciate people regardless of who they look like or what their religion or sexual preference is. Not that that’s the end all be all, but it definitely helps.

  • NGP

hopefully no one has posted this but these are some photos from Adams cover shoot and “OMFG!”
    http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/06/11/adam-lamberts-rolling-stone-cover-shoot-the-photos/

  • undercooked

Kris is just a great guy. Both he and Adam, I believe, have changed AI for the better with their examples of openess, respect and honesty. In comparison to Kradam, Simon’s and Ryan’s silly homophobic banter with each other looks even worse. Rock on Kradam! (and like I said in the other thread, you know the Kradam fan fiction will now be completly off the f**king chart).

  • IdolThoughts

Kris is a prince. I love him. I lurve Adam…but I love Kris. He is so endearing…and (obviously) highly evolved.

  • Michelle

oh gosh, Megan said Kris was hot too and no one made a tabloid article out of that. Good on Kris, and also Adam for having excellent taste, heh.

  • lifeisfun

I agree Kris is awesome! It is a compliment and Kris took it the right way. He should be flattered!

  • suebrody

    KRADAM FTW

It’s nice to actually lighten up about this for once…

  • bambambam

ITA that no one said “crush,” and in fairness to the Rolling Stone writer, let’s be clear that RS did not use the word “crush” either, or the blogosphere would be even more inundated with stereotyped accusations of Adam being a predator of some kind.

  • Akatot

I may, just may, just a tiny tiny little bit, may be starting to like Kris a teeny bit!!

Whoa there! Don’t get carried away! :biggrin_wp:

They should have Road Rules: AI 8 and start filming at the rehearsals. I’d want to hear the teasing that Kris and Adam had to endure for the revelation.

  • auntieaimee

I really wish Kris would stop being so charming, because every time he opens his mouth I feel like I am being drawn in by his gravitational pull. This is my secret shame.

  • Mom in the Suburbs

I think the fan fiction is going to be off the charts now

Agree with Undercooked the RS interview covered many fantasies. I’m charmed by the “bi-curious” comment he made. Posted this in another thread, but it’s better here.

I’m going to possibly open a can of worms here, but about the fanfiction, I’m afraid to read it! I was a huge L. of the Rings fan (hobbits!) and discovered that many ladies enjoyed something called “slash.” I’m not judging this at all, but I also was not so much into that aspect of hobbit-relations, lol. So before I start digging around in the fanfiction, someone do tell–is this anything like “slash”? That is, do Adam and Kris get, uh, rather close in this fanfiction? I’m totally cool if it is, but I’m not planning to read it, much, LOL. I like them both and think they’re both cute. Please don’t get me wrong! But I’d like to know before I click on those sites. :rolleyes_wp:

  • RubySlippers

Didn’t Adam say that to get through all the crap the media was doing to him during AI , he would just laugh and have a sense of humor about it?

I think Kris’ reaction is brilliant, it just deflates and deflects the whole issue with a laugh. He is awesome.

KRADAM is the best thing thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s happened on American Idol in a long, long time.

I think so too. This friendship has probably changed many people’s minds and perceptions , which I think is too great for words!!

  • Ellie2

Mom in the Suburbs, yep, most of it’s NC-17 slash. Some of it is just friendship stuff, though. I nosed around on a livejournal site the other day and was cracking up imagining Adam and Kris reading what’s on there. Holy hell.

  • Mom in the Suburbs

Oh, and I simply adore the fact that they are friends, and that Kris was not one of those bigots, like some other contestants. Just wanted to clarify that. His comment here really shows the depth of his sense of security. He and Katy are destined to have many happy years with an attitude like that.

  • AC

Hehe.. I think a lot of gay men like Kris Allen (like my boss!) so it would be no surprise if Adam did really have a crush.

Go Kris! Go Kradam! hehe.. I don’t know what it is about them that makes me act like a little fangirl.

  • wellhesback

Uh – Mom in the Suburbs, LOTS of those fanfic sites have slash. most, probably.

  • Dr. Tracey

    Kris is kool.

  • risalea

but I wish being an adult wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t so rare, apparently. and everyone who still paints him as an Arkansas yokel – the guy has traveled outside the US! Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a firm believer that travel, esp. to less-well-off places, really helps people grow and put things in perspective. It probably helped him.

Hmmm, interesting comment. It’s a shame that there are those who paint with a broad brush and assume if one is from Arkansas or some other southern location, one must travel abroad to develop one’s sensibilities.

I have no doubt that Kris’s mission trips opened his eyes to the suffering that many in this world endure and made him much more appreciative of the blessings in his own life. I’m sure he was awakened to the cultural differences that exist among us, and how we are all more alike than different. However, I imagine the manners and tact that he has shown have more to do with the influence of his parents, also Arkansas “yokels” than anything else.

From one Arkie to another….Kris, you continue to represent the state well.

  • http://www.last.fm/user/RemusL/ RemusL

Mom in the Suburbs, yes, that is exactly what “slash” fan fiction involves. :laugh_tb:

I had to laugh at the headline just below the brief People.com article to which mj linked:

    RELATED ARTICLE:
    à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¢ See Kris & Adam’s baby photos!

With all the talk of bromance and Adam’s so-called “crush” on Kris, the headline might lead one to think Kris and Adam were a couple that just had a baby! :lol_tb:

  • http://myspace.com/susanatfox sumidol

Seeee?? I knew it, Kris IS super cool and just love him even more now

  • milly93

*flail* I love Kris. I love Adam. :D
There’s all this paparazzi acting ridiculous, and then here are Adam and Kris, staying calm and making nothing of it. Love how they’re friends.

  • AmericanIdolatry

I think Kris is too perfect to be real. I’ve been looking for flaws since top 36 week. Haven’t found one inside or out.

Ugh! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: WHERE have all the good men gone?

  • babybelle32

Kris is just so cool and mature. This is the type of answer that I expected him to give. The fact that he has been so affectionate with Adam all season should have told anyone that he didn’t feel awkward about how close they are. His response will also let the issue die, so that the media can focus on something else. If he had acted like he was upset or weirded out by Adam finding him attractive, then the media would have tried to cause problems for the two of them.

Why wouldn’t anyone be flattered to learn that someone, regardless of their sex, thinks you are attractive. That doesn’t mean that either party has to act on the feelings. Just say, I’m flattered, but not interested, and move on. People can learn a lot from Kris’ example.

“Kris and Adam are both so comfortable in their own skinsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦”

This is so true, and one of the reasons why both made the finals. While others try to comform to what the judges wanted, or to what past contestants did, they were pretty much the only ones, aside from Allison, who remained true to who they are. That’s something that people like to see on this show, which can be very scripted at times.

  • will

What I’m wondering is if Matt, Anoop, Danny et al. felt dissed when Adam said Kris was the only one he found attractive. . .

  • weareallinnocent

Well, that’s it. I’m sold. Now I’m going to have to buy Kris’ album too. Better start saving now. :-)

And LOL about all the other guys feeling dissed that Adam didn’t find them attractive. That’s hilarious too! (And, you KNOW the did!)

  • tommy

The media, by and large, is so caught off guard when they don’t have a straw to grasp at manufacturing outrage. It’s what they live for, and when people hot in the news don’t feed them denials or dodging responses, they basically stand there with their collective mouths open and don’t know what to do.

The fact the Adam and Kris are so blase and unconcerned over this “juicy little tidbit” extracted from Adam’s interview, it’s driving them nuts, most likely. Gosh, why can’t Kris freak out over this, it would make their journalistic lives so much more titillating. Come on Kris, help ‘em out…….will ya? Enough with the “no big deal” reaction. :smile_wp: :smile_wp:

  • suebrody

Matt’s taking singing lessons! (He just twittered that.) Now I am even more in love with him! I think the triumvirate of Adam, Kris, and Adam would be awesome. I can’t see Danny being flattered if Adam were to say that he felt he was hot…yeah, not so much. I don’t know about Anoop. Sarver would be at TPTB’s door in a hot minute.

  • colette

who’da thunk it would be “American Idol” that actually taught people something about tolerance, acceptance, and civil rights? Yikes.

meanwhile, I think people around Kris (his bro, wife, friends) would beat him to a pretty pulp if he started putting on airs and thinking he was the gods’ gift to boys and girls!

And humility is sooooooo much sexier than the opposite…. :wink1_tb:

  • Zerika

Ugh! Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve said it before and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll say it again: WHERE have all the good men gone?

They are either married or gay?

  • twinkle

Kris rocks my socks. seriously. these two, i think, are good for each other personally AND professionally. they support one other and are great friends but you also get adam bringing coverage to kris and kris showing the rest of the world what an accepting, supportive, and yet humorous response looks like… which helps tone down the negative reaction adam might get from some people.

someone being weirded out by adam saying he thought kris is attractive just looks foolish after the object of the attraction thinks it’s flattering and hilarious. way to go Kris!!

plus, they are the perfect style foils for one another. being next to each other enhances what the other brings to the table.

  • Mom in the Suburbs

wellhesback, RemusL, Ellie2, Thanks for the heads up! I’m new around here and wasn’t sure about the fanfic references, lol. Their friendship really fascinates me, but that slash aspect is not my cup of tea, exactly. Of the two, Adam is the one who sends the electricity for me. (Kris not so much; he’s just cute as a button, lol.) That RS cover, whew, makes me want to run my finger tips on a magazine! But I’m afraid the two of them together doesn’t do the same thing for me. I wonder if I’m the “odd” one here? Still, there’s room for every type of fan I hope! :biggrin_wp:

  • GeminiDolly

This is just the way I thought he would respond. Kris is kool as a kat.

  • Zerika

I’m pretty sure Kris and Adam know about the slash fan fiction. I bet they find it hilarious.

  • undercooked

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m pretty sure Kris and Adam know about the slash fan fiction. I bet they find it hilarious.

I am sure they do! Plus with all the fan artwork out there, they could bind it all and put together a nice hard cover edition with original illustrations.

  • twinkle

Michelle Collins (the AMAZING columnist from best week ever who is a wee bit in love with adam) asked him about it in their interview… his response is pretty funny given the content of much of the slash and now the context that adam was attracted to kris. hehe.

Michelle: Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not even just saying this: you are magical, from Mars, I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t even think youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re of this Earth. Adam: We should show it to his wife. Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s who we should have read it.

Michelle: Do you like Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ wife?

Adam: She is adorable. They are the cutest couple in the world. He is the nicest guy. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s genuine. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s totally what you see is what you get. He means it. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s open-minded, and heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a real musician. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s great.

Adam didn’t know about it until Michelle at bestweekever told him about it during their interview. She told him it was hot and he should take a look. He was definitely intrigued and I’m sure he’s read some by now.

  • wellhesback

Just to clarify a previous post of mine: I’m from the South. I hate it when people assume everyone from the South is a redneck. and people don’t have to travel overseas to gain perspective (I never got the chance; I’m happy Kris did) but it can certainly add to one’s education and maturity.

I love him so much. As others have said, Kris is a true Christian, and as a Christian, I find him inspirational. He, Adam, and Allison deserve their success not only because they are amazingly talented, but also because they are really unusually lovely people.

And his reaction is also really logical: Who doesn’t want Adam to think they’re attractive?

I think the fan fiction is going to be off the charts now

Ugh – I think fanfic needs a new name. Because the bulk of it is so disrespectful to the subjects, that no true fan would write it. It’s such a mastubatory effort, created to catch the attention of the desired object or advance oneself in the fantard hierarchy. It’s all so narcissistic it makes me vomit. I wonder if David cook enjoys the fanfic and Sims his fans have made of him having sex with his bandmates?

Sorry for the rant, but I find the AI related fanfic grotesque.

At any rate, Kris Allen is an awesome human being.

  • Cakenbake

Some people speculated that Kris would ‘freak out’, but I have been watching Kris from the beginning and you could tell he was a very cool sweet guy, who loves to laugh, open-minded, and easy going.

Why can’t there be more guys like Kris Allen.

An American Idol has to be more than just a great singer…they have to be a good person also and to me, Kris personifies that.

  • shadow-rider

No surprise. I figured Kris would react that way. Its just how he is. Kris probably already knew otherwise I don’t think Adam would have said it in the magazine knowing that reporters would ambush Kris on the matter. They are close and as others have said here he never said ‘crush’. Hey I’m sure it boosted Kris’ ego knowing that he is just so darn adorable to both sexes just as Adam found it hot when women would scream for him even though he doesn’t swing that way…….yet.

  • Michelle

Hey Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure it boosted Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ ego knowing that he is just so darn adorable to both sexes just as Adam found it hot when women would scream for him even though he doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t swing that wayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.yet.

  • Yss

Please, Kris needs to stop being so cute, funny and adorable…like the song: he’s just too good to be true! Love him!

  • abbysee

I wonder if David cook enjoys the fanfic and Sims his fans have made of him having sex with his bandmates?

I don’t know….I don’t follow Cook except for what I read here at Mj’s, what I do know is that he took some pictures of him and his bandmates that sorta spoofed the gay shipping that some of his fans do. I read that here, last night, so maybe it doesn’t bother him that much….

I don’t read any fanfic, sorta silly to me.

Kris Allen is teaching so many men about true masculinity. Men for so long have bashed gay men, not because they are so much opposed to homosexuality, but because they are afraid to be seen as gay. Kris had the best reaction, he was flattered, and he thought it was hilarious. They should take their act on the road, oh wait, they are.

I am not gonna take Simon and Ryan to task because I think that they have a similar bromance going on, they just are acting like kids about it, whereas Kris and Adam are the adults. The love and adoration Simon and Ryan have for each other is very apparent.

  • Victoria

Exactly how I thought he would reply. Kris is cool :)

Ugh – I think fanfic needs a new name. Because the bulk of it is so disrespectful to the subjects, that no true fan would write it. Totally agree. And believe me, there is WAY worse Cook fanfic out there than the one you mentioned. And the Kradam stuff is moving towards scary territory very quickly.

  • Michelle

Meh, the thing about the ai slashfic is every year there’s a new pair that is made the focus, so it’s not anything personal or to be taken very seriously imo. The guys are turned into “characters”, sort of literary action figures that get put into situations, not so much about the actual people. It can be pretty weird the first time you stumble onto it, tho!

  • Mom in the Suburbs

I think fanfic needs a new name. Because the bulk of it is so disrespectful to the subjects, that no true fan would write it

SpenserJ, I’m the first to say that slash is not my cup o’ but I don’t believe this is the intention of fanfic, imho. Admittedly, I’m very live-and-let-live. It is fantasy-oriented and seems harmless for the most part. It’s an outlet for erotic imagination. Again, it doesn’t turn me on at all, but I’m not revolted by it, either. After all, any of us could be judged as being overly-invested in our respective idols. Who’s to say? I asked if Kradam fanfic stories are “slash” before I started going to those sites, because it’s not my thing–but I also get that human beings have a wide spectrum of sexuality. As long as adults are involved and not hurting anyone, it’s no problem. I’m sure, as others have said, Adam and Kris are aware of it by now. If not, they can certainly avoid reading it if they find it disturbing that people have erotic interest and/or fantasies about them (whether together or individually!). For me, it’s all about Adam, and I’d hate to be judged by anyone for the excitement I feel about him as an artist and as an incredibly sensual being, so I wouldn’t want to judge anyone else. JMO. :rolleyes_wp:

I have visited the livejournal site (kradam_ai)…and yes, it has lots of “slash”. The authors will give ratings…I have read a few PG and even G stories. Way too real for me. Like I am invading their privacy…even though I know its all fiction.

BUT, there are some really fun icons/videos/pics, etc on there. If you are a Kradam fan, these are quite enjoyable (I love the “your argument is invalid” pics). I just skip the fic!

  • chrgi

Eh, it’s the internet. What was that rule again Rule 34? There’s fanfic (and explicit stuff) about everything and anything. Slash fic about Kris and Adam is pretty tame compared to the stuff I’ve seen LOL.

Oh and I think I read somewhere that Kris is aware of Kratt shippers. He said that his wife told him about it. I forgot what interview it was…but maybe it makes Adam’s comment about showing it to Kris’s wife kinda funny. Maybe she already knows (!!!).

But I think they tell idols not to google themselves for a reason, LOL.

SpenserJ, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m the first to say that slash is not my cup oà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ but I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t believe this is the intention of fanfic, imho. Admittedly, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m very live-and-let-live.

I’m a live and let live gal myself. I respect their right to author their poorly written, ludicrous fanfic. Hopefully, they respect my right to make fun of their bizarre tales unmercifully.

Slash fic about Kris and Adam is pretty tame compared to the stuff Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve seen LOL.

The fact that there’s a bigger fire down the street doesn’t make the fire engulfing your house any less bad. Basicallly, even thought there’s worse out there, it doesn’t make that shit any less fucked up.

Kris is way cool. It’s no wonder Adam is attracted to him. Who wouldn’t be? More importantly, who wouldn’t be attracted to such a free and sexy spirit as Adam? Even Adam’s photographer, Matthew Rolston, had wonderful things to say about Adam. He says that Lambert is one of the rare truly sweet and kind music superstars he’s been exposed to à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ and compares him to Beyonce in terms of how stable and nice he is. “They are the rare superstars I’ve met who are truly centered and coming from a very thankful appreciative place.”

Ooh, awesome comments from Matthew Rolston. He’s done a few music videos too (I think he shot Jordin’s “Tattoo” vid?); maybe he’ll get to work with Adam again! And I’m sure he’d be flattered by the Beyonce comparison. ;)

  • RubySlippers

    Thanks for that link, xuziqueue.

Speaking of the photographer, here are more pictures from the photo shoot.

  • http://absinthedreamers.blogspot.com/ Starrlight

Sorry for the rant, but I find the AI related fanfic grotesque.

LOL..some fan fic is good writing. Most, I’d say 90% is so horrible it makes me want to rip my eyeballs out. I can count on one hand the decent fan fic I have read in my life. A couple of Twilight fics and some old Velvet Goldmine Slash. Although everyone in VG was either gay or bi so I suppose it is outside the true definition of Slash.

The AI stuff, particularly the slash, is hideous. But for a laugh, go look up some *NSYNC slash from the 90′s. Talk about some foreshadowing!

  • haruhi

I thought Kris would reply, “I know, right? Kick awesome.” Heehee.

Seriously, Kris is such a cool guy with a deep understanding of people and circumstances. His straight-forward response that he’s flattered, though he finds it hilarious, is well-said. Only he could have said it without coming across as fake because we all know that he and Adam are great friends.

Kris and Adam make it easier for people to love them, and I love them both.

Fan fic? Hmm…I didn’t know there are fan fics involving real personalities. Well, I love mangas and anime, and “boys love” or “shonen-ai,” or even “yaoi” is a common theme for some series. But real people? Kris and Adam? Kradam-ai (Kradam-love)? Eee…Though I bet most would be a hilarious read. But still…

  • Mom in the Suburbs

RubySlippers *thud* Hold onto our hats indeed. Those are so beautiful. Very artistic with the glitter and Elvis stance, and the shot with Rolston. And xuziqueue thanks. Love those comments by Rolston. Adam’s coming from a place of gratitude. No diva there! Like the quote about how he’s already part of a photographic icon tradition by being shot by Rolston. Where are the rest of those photos? RS needs to display at least one of the white shirt w/suspenders pose. And the small striped snake by his face. And the green snake on the shoulders. The issue had better be in my B & N by tomorrow like they promised….

is it just me that if you happen to be a big fan of either Kris or Adam, you can’t help but like the other one as well? hehe.. I’ve been a big Kris fan, and an Adam fan as well, but seeing their friendship and how much Kris likes Adam, makes me like Adam even more!

by the way.. if you look through michael sarver’s twitter he’s saying he did not say any ugly things about adam. i think he’s still getting hounded by loving someone the “right, godly” way.

  • maturin

Who among us does not crush on Kris? And admire Adam’s forthrightness?

The whole thing is pretty awesome. People drive themselves nuts or worse with the whole omg sexuality thing . . . seems like Adam and Kris probably had this conversation the day they moved in as roomates: omg you’re totally my type, too bad you’re straight. Kris, as above: that’s flattering and also, hilarious.

    Awwwww.

  • Truthiness

Of course Kris would be kool about this. He is secure in himself and I’m sure Adam was open with him. Adam seems like a pretty open guy, but Adam and Kris probably just laughed about it, because they’ve obviously moved past it to a really inspiring friendship. Go friendship Kradam!

As for fanfic, I agree, 90% of it is a crime against grammar, much less anything else. But I like some and admit to being an XFiles and Veronia Mars fanfictard. In fact the only Kris/Adam fanfic I’ve ever read was by a good Veronica Mars fanficcer(and published author IRL, btw) who made a sweet friendship piece of them. It was cute, pointless, fairly well-written, and a harmless bit of fun. But yeah, by and large, RPF totally squicks me out.

  • will

Okay, sorry, but I think Matthew Ralston calling Adam a “superstar” is just silly. That term should be reserved for someone who has produced a body of work and demonstrated an ability to sustain a career at the top of their field. Madonna = Superstar. Adam = Very talented newcomer. Just sayin’.

  • http://www.last.fm/user/RemusL/ RemusL

But I think they tell idols not to google themselves for a reason, LOL.

That advice was more to avoid reading hateful, nasty, abusive comments about themselves that could do a number on their psyches. I don’t think erotic slash fan fiction was the first concern.

In any case, I got the distinct feeling that this year’s Idol class is a lot more fearless when it comes to googling themselves than those from past years.

For someone in the public eye, having a Twitter account can be a double-edged sword. It has the potential to feed your ego instantaneously but it can also open you up to some real-time negativity. Sarver must be learning that lesson big time.

What Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m wondering is if Matt, Anoop, Danny et al. felt dissed when Adam said Kris was the only one he found attractive. . .

When a gay guy finds another guy attractive, they really are attractive. It’s a huge compliment, personally. Hahaha.

I am a complete (but not absurd) Adam Fan and I completely agree with this statement. It just made me feel so uncomfortable. So much of the OTT language is out of place, and if it makes me feel squeely I wonder how Adam feels. Here he is “trying” to get his foot in the door and others are going off the deep end….hope that people understand these words and phrases are not coming from Adam.

Well, you know that’ll be the next question everyone is asking :rolleyes_wp:

So, we’ve heard that Adam, Kris, and Allison were all really close, but, based on what I’ve seen, Matt and Anoop would seem to fit in well with them too. Not sure that I’ve heard much about that though. But from things like the Larry King Live segment, that group just seems to gel together really well.

I do understand what you are saying, however Michael Ralston is used to being around and photographing superstars, and when Adam gives him the same feelings some of the other’s do, then that is what is going to come out of his mouth.

Everyone who has worked with Adam has said he has such a star presence even when not on stage, he just stands out. So maybe they just cant help themselves. Feelings are not based on intellect. Just sayin!!!!

I have to admit to being a Spike/Angel slash fiction fantard.
There, now that’s off my chest, I feel cleansed..lol.

Real person fanfiction just makes me queasy slash or not, something about it just feels WRONG.

Kris and Adam are just both such awesome people. And I agree with others, they make each other better and more attractive to fans of each of them. I started about being meh about Kris and was upset at the final result. However, the more I see of him and hear him and read about his awesome personality, it just makes me want to support him and I’ll do that by buying his music.

I agree, these two are wonderful to see together and their friendship makes me like and want to support both of them. I am huge Adam fan but never really got into Kris musically, however, I very much admire that both of them seem to be so down to earth and truly care about each other and not give a fuck about how the world wants to judge their friendship, that to me is two people who are very comfortable with themselves and not afraid to show love and affection. Bravo to both of them and I also love that their families have both talked about how close they became and what good people they all are.

About the Michael Rolston quote, he is entitled to his opinion, I do think though that the massive amount of almost hyperbolic praise that Adam received all season from celebrities and judges alike did hurt him in the end in terms of winning AI which is too bad because aside from being his fabulous self he couldn’t really control what other people thought or said about him, oh well, bygones. I really do think his energy in person must be interesting though because people can’t seem to stop gushing about him when they meet him, to the point of hilarity.

Just had to throw that out there!

Kris continues to be so cool … go Kradam! Go Kradison!

(And so thinking someoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s cute = having a crush on them? Whatevs.):

Lol! That’s exactly what I thought.

Real person fanfiction just makes me queasy slash or not, something about it just feels WRONG.

I delve a bit into fanfic as well, but I agree with you. Fanfiction based on fictional characters is fine, but fanfiction based on real people feels like treading a bit on real person’s toes. It just feels weird. Would you like fanfiction written about yourself? *shudder*

The AI stuff, particularly the slash, is hideous. But for a laugh, go look up some *NSYNC slash from the 90à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s. Talk about some foreshadowing!

  • LaurelG

What is hilarious is the way Kris punctured the trial balloons of the media with just a few well-chosen words. Way to go, Kris!

  • ShariG

LOL I love Kris’s reaction. He just doesn’t get ruffled. I agree with those who say that the two of them as buddies makes both of them more likeable. I was not a big Adam fan until I heard some of the things Kris has said about him and until a couple of those hilarious interviews they did together, “top bunk” for one. They just really like each other and I love that.

  • PattyH

  • Ellie2

Would you like fanfiction written about yourself?

Ummm…if it involved Adam and me? Maybe… Kidding!! Kidding!!

  • lizardino

Adam and Kris are so great together. They are good role models of real friendship between men, which makes them both even sexier (to me, at least). I hope we have many more interviews of these two together because they play off one another so well. Whenever I remember that “I like the top” interview and picture the look on Kris’s face, I have to laugh. Hee! I’m also impressed by Adam’s wonderful ability to look completely innocent while saying outrageous things — now THAT’S a gift!

I have also read fanfiction (mostly based on Queer as Folk characters and some original stuff that is well written), but the idea of reading work based on real life people has always made me uneasy. I think I did read one little fluffy Kradam piece that was about their friendship, and it was okay. However, anything else…hmmmm….not so much.

  • LisaE

I was really annoyed by the whole “crush” language the press was using (because I knew how many would try to twist it into something uncomfortable and negative). I mean, EW twisted it into “Adam Lambert harbored a secret attraction to Kris throughout the show.” Seriously? Gimme a freakin’ break. Anyway, for that reason I was so happy with Kris’ response. It gave it the same casualness it deserved. And amen to whomever said that “Kris Allen is teaching so many men about true masculinity.”

As far as fanfic goes…when Kradam is so perfect, reality is just so much better! I wonder if they are still going to be hosting Ryan Seacrest’s radio show together at some point. That could be really fun.

The Rolston “superstar” quote didn’t bother me. I just liked the fact that he said Adam was a genuinely nice and appreciative guy. Reminds me of Archie’s comment. Maybe they’d work together in the future on a music video?

Ross Golan’s new twitter: “@ohferras and @scharffishere writing a film noir song.” I don’t know if it’s for Adam, but if it is, that would be very cool and Adam could kill it.

When I grow up I want to be like Kris.

    Even thoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a lot older. ;)

taran33, hubby and I were just discussing how amazingly mature Kris is for only being 23.

I’m so relieved to know peeps here at mj is not into fanfic on real life people. lol. As someone said before, the way Kris and Adam are together in real life doesn’t need anything more added to the story. These guys really do gain something from each other!

As many have said, Kris handled this entire thing is such a cool way, exactly as I thought he would.

Someone mentioned a possible Adam song on film noir. I hope so, that could be really cool!

  • wyked_whyspers

“I really do think his energy in person must be interesting though because people canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t seem to stop gushing about him when they meet him, to the point of hilarity.”

They also seem to have a very hard time keeping their hands off of him, someone is always touching him or asking for a hug, even the guys, Mario and Regis spring to mind right off the bat.

And even though it wasn’t on camera I am willing to bet Slezak got himself a hug!

I haven’t quite figured out how to make these quote things work, I can get the first one, but not the end quote to work. Help someone?

  • undercooked

Ugh – I think fanfic needs a new name. Because the bulk of it is so disrespectful to the subjects, that no true fan would write it. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s such a mastubatory effort, created to catch the attention of the desired object or advance oneself in the fantard hierarchy. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s all so narcissistic it makes me vomit. I wonder if David cook enjoys the fanfic and Sims his fans have made of him having sex with his bandmates?

Wow, I didn’t know there was so much to fanfic. But to be honest, I’ve actually never read any fanfic except what I saw on Idletard during the Cook fuc bunny drama blog. I haven’t visited that site since as I find people who take such glee in making fun of Idol fans almost as disturbing as the crazy over the top fans. I said almost.

Since I haven’t read much fanfic, I can’t judge if it is disrespectful or not. What I read was pretty silly and harmless. I’m not interested in seeking it out, but I find it fascinating that it exists. It’s almost like fanfic writers make up a subculture of AI fandom. It’s as if there is an underground AI afterhours club, kind of freaky and not for everyone. Sims? What are sims? I am assuming some sort of computer generated thing.

I do think Adam and Cook can probably laugh at some of the fanfic. They are grown men who have been around the block a few times. But having said that, it wouldn’t surprise me if it freaked them out a bit. I mean who would be so that invested in them to write a fantasy about them in great detail?

But back to the wonderful warm and fuzzy feelings I have towards Kris. I’m so glad we had Kris and Adam as our top two. They are awesome.

Okay, sorry, but I think Matthew Ralston calling Adam a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“superstarà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ is just silly.

Matthew Ralston is not some niave, “never seen a celebrity before” guy. He photographed and directed videos of some of the world’s biggest stars. I really think he knows a “superstar” when he sees one. And it’s not like he is alone in his opinion. He’s one of a long list of people in the entertainment business to say the same thing.

And I love the additional photos from the RS session. Hope they release more of them.

Kris Allen sounds like a wonderful person. I hope we all get to hear much more from him as he gains his ‘media legs’. I find myself looking forward to the music he plans to record – especially if it will be his own. The kid’s got a beautiful soul. I hope he shares more of it.

And I think Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a superstar. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s already changing popular culture (as I predicted he would). I have to share this à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹cause ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s illustrative of my point (not to mention funny as hell). Yesterday I asked my husband to pick me up a copy of Rolling Stone on his way home. Thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a bookstore right around the corner from where he works à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ so ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s convenient (our local Wal-Mart doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t carry anything interesting). So in he goes, heading straight for the magazine racks. Ahead of him is another man à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ maybe ten or so years younger. My husband had to stop and watch à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹cause this guyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s behavior was quite funny.

He practically tip-toes up to where the Rolling Stone copies were kept à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ furtively glancing from side to side à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ making sure no one was so much as looking in his direction. As soon as he was sure he was completely alone à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ he snatched one of the copies off the shelf à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ tucking it under his jacket until he got up to the checkout. Even then he was in an obvious hurry. As soon as she finished and handed him his change à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ he practically ran out of the store à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ his Rolling Stone copy tucked securely under his coat. My husband about busted a gut. The guy just didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to be seen buying the Adam Lambert Rolling Stone! My husband walked up, grabbed a copy, and paid for it. The lady at the checkout told him it practically flew off the shelves. She said she herself adored Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹even if he WAS gayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢. When my husband told her he and I had spent the first half of our careers in professional theatre (his way of answering her question about the gay issue) à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ she volunteered, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Oh à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ then youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re used to this kind of thing!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Now I live in a very conservative state. Adam was actually denounced on local radio following his à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Ring of Fireà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ rendition. Still à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ his fans find ways to get around all that. I think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s because the culture is changing. Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s lack of surprise or outrage has definitely helped (IMO). The more we all shrug our shoulders and say, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“So what? Who cares?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ – the better it will be…..and that poor guy in the book store will be able to enjoy all things Adam without having to hide his fandom.

I’m from Seattle so I have a different problem in terms of being a Lambert fan because it just ain’t cool to admit you like someone from AI when you’re from the home of grunge, not that it will stop me for one second from buying that Rolling Stone as soon as it hits the shelves (no one had it today, grumble, grumble). Anyway, as much as I think AI is a completely cheesy show worthy of more snark than respect most of the time I have to say that I am so excited and interested to see people coming out of it this year who really could make some kind of pop-culture shift and I mean both Adam himself and the Kris and Adam friendship when I say that. Cool to watch and cool to be a part of as a fan.

by the way.. if you look through michael sarverà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s twitter heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s saying he did not say any ugly things about adam. i think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s still getting hounded by loving someone the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“right, godlyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ way.

I guess this is OT, but I think Michael Sarver is getting a bad rap. When MS was eliminated, during the Idol Extra interview, one of Adam’s comments about Michael was that he seemed/tried to have an open mind and genuinely wanted to learn about people, or something like that. IDK.

IDK, maybe it’s kinda like people reading that Adam experimented with drugs and then jumping to the conclusion that he’s using them now and condones them.

Taking a piece of information, does not a person make. This of course is jmo and YMMV and all that good stuff…I ultimately think MS may be a good guy and is learning some things about life/and um soundbites.

    On topic, go Kradam/Kradison!!!!

  • golcook

Kris.. what an awesome person. Funny how my top 3 favorites this season (Kris, Allison and Adam) are the closest friends, and BTW they all 3 came from group 2.

Great people, so different yet awesome in their styles, wish them the best of luck.

That may be true. However, I think a lot of people’s dislike is stemming not from the “in a godly way” obnoxiousness but from a post that Adam’s brother Neil made on some other board about a comment that Sarver made to Adam that was offensive, now this was Adam’s brother and not Adam himself posting the info so I think it is fair to say that no one knows what was really said or not said so people should probably just let it go.

On topic, do we ever get to see pics from tour rehearsals, how I’d love to be a fly on that wall after the RS cover and the Kradam shenanigans.

  • http://www.last.fm/user/RemusL/ RemusL

Michael Sarver may also be getting some resentment from fans who felt he took a spot on the tour that should have gone to Alexis Grace.

Truth be told, I think Anoop deserves some of the blame here. If he had chosen a better song or just simply sung better during the Top 36 Group 1 show, he would have been the one voted into the Top 12, instead of Sarver. If that had happened, I seriously doubt the judges would have picked Michael Sarver for a wild card spot. However, that still wouldn’t have guaranteed Alexis a Top 10 finish though.

This is only my first full year of following AI on the internet, so I too am a rookie when it comes to blogspeak. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve been wondering what ROFL means for ages!

ROFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing

    Then there’s ROFLMAO.

“I was really annoyed by the whole à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“crushà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ language the press was using (because I knew how many would try to twist it into something uncomfortable and negative). I mean, EW twisted it into à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Adam Lambert harbored a secret attraction to Kris throughout the show.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Seriously? Gimme a freakinà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ break. Anyway, for that reason I was so happy with Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ response. It gave it the same casualness it deserved. And amen to whomever said that à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Kris Allen is teaching so many men about true masculinity.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Kris has so so so so earned my respect in this regard. What an amazing person! (Katy–you have a top notch guy!— You must be a top-notch gal!)

  • washpd

So, weà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard that Adam, Kris, and Allison were all really close, but, based on what Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve seen, Matt and Anoop would seem to fit in well with them too. Not sure that Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard much about that though. But from things like the Larry King Live segment, that group just seems to gel together really well.

I’m not sure about Anoop, but Matt and Kris were definitely good friends going back to when they roomed together during Hollywood week.

There definitely seemed to be a special bond among Kris, Adam, and Allison, though. I loved reading about how Kris and Adam were protective of Allison, and tried to help her take more risks musically.

And, yeah, the topic . . . Kris is awesome. When I first read Adam’s comments, and thought about how the media would be hounding Kris for a comment, my first thought was that he would say something like, “I’m flattered.” He did not disappoint.

Brin — Hey, I’m from Seattle as well! I know what you mean about talking about AI to some people here, but I recently had a funny experience in my local Target store. I went to the music department to buy some new headphones for my MP3 player and mentioned something about downloading music from AI. The guy at the counter immediately looked up and said, “so what do you think of Adam?” Of course I then (tried not to) gush about him so he wouldn’t think I was completely crazy. We then had this funny little conversation about Adam and Kris — until one of his co-workers came over and looked at us like we were loony. The guy I was talking to immediately looked embarrassed and shut up, and I took my change and left.

I couldn’t find a copy of RS with Adam here today either, boo-hoo. I went to 5 stores while running errands and saw lots of Lady Gaga, but no Adam. I guess I’ll have to go out for coffee (and a magazine) to the Barnes and Noble in the morning. You know, just casually…

  • fox

I looked up superstar in the dictionary….and adams picture was there ;)

Seriously though…if Matthew Ralston wants to refer to Adam as a superstar that’s awesome! It’s all relative anyway, and actually the definition seems to fit Adam pretty good. He is a performer with wide recognition (yesterday I read he was the most googled person on earth), he is esteemed for exceptional talent (yeah, that boy can sing), and he is sought after for his services (just got signed and is touring). So yeah, why not.

    Definition – superstar

    1. a person, as a performer or athlete, who enjoys wide recognition, is esteemed for exceptional talent, and is eagerly sought after for his or her services.
    2. any very prominent or successful person or thing.

    http://vodpod.com/watch/1742098-adam-lambert-is-gay-had-crush-on-kris-allen

The girl is nonchalant about it, but this is how many guys would probably think…and I think this guy is a liberal.

Thank goodness Kris is not like most guys.

Yeah, a fellow citizen of Seattle! I was so disappointed not to see the new RS here yet, I checked several places today and nothing, bah, so yeah, out for a latte (and a Rolling Stone, she says in a stage whisper) tomorrow. Although I must note that my husband was quite proud to announce to me “hey, guess whose on the cover of RS” this week (little did he know I had already read the scans online), he’s been exposed as an Adam fan now though. I will be curious to see if they sell as well here as they seem to be selling in other places (an outing for all those under cover fans if so). I actually think there are a lot of AI fans in the area (or at least Adam fans) but no one talks about AI here, like it is a taboo to talk about pop music in the wake of Kurt Cobain, cracks me up.

I know, we all live in secret around here so we look cool. Maybe we should start a secret support group? I’ve started getting pretty good at cruising the magazine aisles and looking bored. RS — ho-hum. I’m really here to look at the new Utne Reader — not! BTW, the Barnes and Noble at Northgate has a convenient magazine rack with Rolling Stone featured on it that faces the cafe. You can reach out for the magazine looking like you were just browsing while sipping coffee — then you grab that baby and run!

Whatever (TM Lambert).

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m pretty sure Kris and Adam know about the slash fan fiction. I bet they find it hilarious.

I believe that in one of his earlier blogs Neil mentioned that he had sent Adam some copies. This was long before the Best Week Ever interview as I remember being surprised that he feigned ignorance, but honestly it seemed the best route to take.

  • storm45701

On the Top 40 radio station I listen to, they pilloried Adam after the Rolling Stone cover, saying that it appeared AI had become “limp wristed”, and comparing Adam to Clay Aiken. The two male DJs were making all kinds of coded homophobic jokes; total frat boy stuff. They also said the Kris Allen “crush” was “disgusting” (their words) and said that Kris “probably wanted to throw up” when he heard it. One DJ wanted to bet that the other male contestants would ask for Adam to room with the girls. They said the AI contestants would be visiting the station when the tour came to town, and that they would report back if Adam was wearing fishnet stockings and high heels.

Such enlightenment! We’ll see if this attitude translates into less radio play for Lambert on this station come Fall.

  • spring2009

Adam’s brother is hilarious – it looks as though Adam’s mom and brother are part of the 20/20 interview (per his blog). His brother suggests it is wrapped around the gay thing – arghh.

As per the whole Kradam soap opera, Kris is cool. They both are cool and giggling about all this, I’m sure. Adam probably told him about the mention in the RS interview in advance (after all, the interview took place weeks ago).

I was thinking Adam was lucky to have been put with Kris as roommate. Distracting at first, yes, but can you imagine how much less fun the whole experience would have been if he had been stuck with Danny or Michael?

Ugh…….I was afraid of that. What is so earth shattering about it? Only in America……

As for those DJ’s……they need some lessons from Kris in how to be a real man. They are only showing their own insecurities acting like that. Sadly, I do think it might end up hurting Adam with radio which is why I didn’t think it was a great idea for him to come out so soon. Adam will handle this dipwads but he shouldn’t have to.

Finally, a reason to be glad that DJs hardly have any say at all over programming any more! lol…. The program director may share the exact same views, of course. Oh, well.

And you’re probably right about it hurting him in some places, but he couldn’t very well not come out because he was out already! Had been out for close to a decade. So if he hadn’t told the whole story in his own words, you can bet that there would have been tons of people crawling out of the woodwork to rat him out for bucks in the National Enquirer. So everybody would still have known — and he would have looked like a coward and a sneak besides.

frogcookie, you heard Kris’ version of “Heartless”? I assume that’s what you meant. That’s cool that a radio station would play it.

I don’t think that you can even buy a copy of the Utne Reader or Advocate where I live! But we still need to have a “secret Lambert Lovers support group” branch here, too! Of course, rural Mississippi is not exactly America’s liberal hot bed — but the need is just as great.

This guy has a reaction I see from a lot of Straight guys about Adam being Gay and rooming with Kris.

I’m not going to bother to click on the link because I saw enough of the anti-gay stuff on Adam before the RS article. And if someone is so worked up about it that they have to make a vlog, then they have got some issues.

I am hoping many young men and boys will see Kris’s reaction’s to Adam’s RS interview. Kris is a great role model.

As far as those DJ’s and their anti-gay rant mentioned by Storm???, I would love to know where this radio station is. If I heard that kind of crap here in Los Angeles, I would boycott that station. I also think if that station was in LA, (or any other large metropolitan city) there would be a public outcry and those DJs would be fired. So I am going to assume this radio station must be in some small hick town where it is acceptable to be prejudice. Yeah, I said it. And on that closing note, Adam and Kris are really doing a wonderful job on setting examples on how real men behave. Rock on Kris and Adam.

I loved Adam this season and always really like Kris. The more I see and hear from these two the more I love them. I had every intention of buying both their albums all along. I also am sure that this was not the first Kris had heard of Adam’s attraction (for lack of a better word). They seem to both be pretty open with each other so I’m sure Adam let Kris know this pretty early on. Can’t wait to see both on tour and hear their albums.

LOL Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s why Kris thinks it was hilarious. Adam never actually said he had a crush.

I know this is off-topic, but in that TV Guide video, Mitovich says that Fox gave Adam the option of disclosing his sexual orientation during the show and he chose not to. (Apparently that’s in the RS interview, which I haven’t read yet.) That’s interesting to me, because I’ve seen comments in other forums claiming that AI/Fox forbids gay contestants from talking about it during the show. I never believed that to be true, that it was the contestants themselves who make that choice. So I’m glad he set the record straight, no pun intended.

  • http://www.last.fm/user/RemusL/ RemusL

AI/Fox may have had some policy in the past, or at least strongly discouraged contestants from being open about being gay (e.g. Jim Verraros) but apparently not this year, according to Adam.
