Those dj’s deserved to be called out, but I’m glad peace was made. Humor (and some apologies) goes a long way. Kris is funny–love him!

That was a great Kris interview. He’s awesomely chill. Wait, so you have to pay thousands of dollars to attend the Grammy’s if you’re not nominated? How are Matt G’s people affording this…?

Kris is just adorable. Glad that the DJs are cool with him– he seems to win most people over easily.

Haha! Some people have commented in the past how Kris’ accent seems stronger when he’s at home. To tell the truth, I never really noticed it much. But here, I hardly notice the accent much at all, so I guess that’s true. I wonder how long it takes one to lose a regional accent? (I wonder if he’s consciously trying to do that?)

I think the internet show that Matt is involved with paid for his tickets.

its probably not a joke. its the biggest night in the music business…businesses buy tickets all the time for their vip clients. im assuming a couple of K is the standard.

Ha, so going to the Grammys is like having your star on the Hollywood pavement which you also have to pay for- so that’s why Allison didn’t appear to be there either .

This was a great interview. Very funny by all involved, and hey, I even learned something. I did not know about having to pay to go to the Grammys if not nominated.

And I did find it funny that some Kris’s fans attacked the DJ for his remark. Oh Idol fans and you all having cray-cray parts of your fanbase…so predictable.

Oh and I’m glad that Kris got some chill time this last week, inbetween rehearsing, because he had tons of promotions/gigs and has a KILLER two weeks coming up in Feb. so good he had that respite now.

It probably does cost in the thousands, because this past week they gave away tickets and a whole set-up for the Grammy’s along with a copy of all the nominated artists CDs in the showcase , along with a trip to NY and $3000.00, a personal makeover, and massages, and that showcase was over $20,000 dollars.

I don’t know how much to attibute to the Grammy’s but I was thinking – I wouldn’t want that showcase because it wasn’t popping…

Seeker, yes, they downplayed what they said after the last one. But it’s all good now and this interview was great. Kris is incredibly funny and chill.

Maybe on the grey market. You have to be a member to get an invitation to buy the tickets and they limit how many you can buy. Their website says the tickets are not transferable.

Thank you so much for posting this, MJ. I remember the interview and it wasn’t the words as much as the tone in which things were said that made me mad… so thank you fellow Kris fans who actually did something about it, causing this need to “make peace.” Loved the interview. Kris was endearing as ever.

Kris has his priorities straight. I think a lot of the entertainment crowd (media) don’t quite know what to do with him. They’re not used to guys like him who aren’t seduced by fame and who do not respond when they are provoked. Kris consciously works to remain true to himself and what he believes in. I’m reminded of the line in his song SMAYA, “Vanity is sure to come, and I don’t want to be undone.” As for rehearsing, as usual, his music comes first and that’s AWM. Cale tweeted to expect new songs in the Asia concerts. Hope there are videos! Go Kris. So proud of you!!

Lol, nice backtracking by the female DJ. As I remember, the guy DJ didn’t say much, but she was the one who was going on and on about how “sleepy” (not tired) he sounded, how he should really work at this and not waste interview opportunities, and how sad that he has a song out but he doesn’t work hard at these kind of other aspects to help promote the song.

And I think the DJs also exaggerated bout the attack they got. Hours after they twittered something bout “relentless” Kris fans, it was actually just a couple of tweets and only one of them were more nasty-sounding. Maybe a lot of other fans are not on Twitter (like me) and sent hate mails instead.

He said “working on tour dates.” Yay!

The last time she said something like, “Let me guess. You’re not even dressed, are you?” She said it in a joking way, so that’s how he took it. I think he answered that he had pants on. Then, after he was off the phone, she used the answer against him. I was pissed because it was like she baited him.

Also I think she said something afterwards like, “I thought he was supposed to be nice.” (!)

But anyway it’s all roses now.

I liked how the male DJ said LLWD is his favorite song they play.

I hope he can get some sleep on the flight to the Philippines. That is one long airplane ride — I looked it up on travelocity, and the shortest LA-Manilla flight I saw was 16 1/2 hours! Some were like 20+ hours with multiple stops/changes of plane. Yikes!!

It’s also a 16 hour time difference. Hope they get first class and can stretch out a bit on the plane … and sleep. I couldn’t do this.

I hope he can get some sleep on the flight to the Philippines.

the best is to schedule the trip to arrive there late in the evening. So you go straight to the hotel and have a good night sleep. I did this trip from montreal a lot (was taking me 31 hours door-to-door) and it was working just fine; I was not even impacted with the time zone change, but that was me.

Unfortunately, it looks like Kris will be arriving Feb 3 in the morning (local time). This is based on Cale’s last tweet, which, I assume is Feb 1 afternoon-ish in LA, plus the organizer’s tweet who is already here in Manila.

I do hope he gets some rest during the flight. If the rumored itinerary is correct, Feb 3 is grueling with a TV appearance, press con, and a meet and greet.

Best of luck to Kris. Can’t wait to see him on Saturday (and hopefully in the M&G).

I’m wondering if Kris went on a separate flight from the rest of his band, because I was surprised to read that Cale was still wandering around L.A. malls this afternoon. Kris needs to be there to do all the press stuff on the 3rd, but the first concert isn’t until the 5th, so the band doesn’t have to be there much vefore that, so maybe Kris took a different flight? Otherwise, it seems like he would basically be going straight to all his appearances as soon as he stepped foot off the plane.

Since Kris himself hasn’t tweeted in 3 days (wonder why not – that’s a long time for him not to do that), hard to tell when he left/is leaving

Looks like it’s part of a mass Valentine’s Day promotion for albums. FYE is also discounted to $7.99, along with a long list of others, including some very major pop stars. It would actually nice if his were one of a couple considering he never had the benefit of any of the earlier deep-discount album offers on ITunes.

I hope that the TV programs are done in the morning. Anything around noon and several hours after that, is really bad. I couldn’t even fuction at all in the afternoon, couldn’t open my eyes the next 2-3 days after a flight to Asia.
If not, then we’ll be seeing a really sleepy Kris. Poor guy.

He attended Clive’s pre grammy party, I think that was a good place to foster some connections as you said. He has a heavy schedule the following 2 weeks so I don’t blame him to want to relax some before going. And beside he had rehearsals with the band too.

Well, Matt did go to the Grammys. So if Kris “has time to see Matt” he obviously didn’t see him during the Grammys. So it’s still quite possible Kris had some time to see Matt, but no time to go to the Grammys. Since he may have been busy then (rehearsing for his Philippines concert, coordinating his travel plans, whatever).

YMMV, but I think it’s great Kris took a little time out of a busy schedule to see his old friend when he was in town. There are of course some people who, if Kris somehow went to the Grammys and didn’t meet up with Matt, would have issues with that, as well! I’m quite sure.

I don’t see that there is a lot of connections to be made as just a guest of the Grammys that he didn’t get the day before at Clive’s party, or that are really useful at all, much less useful enough to justify spending thousands of dollars to be essentially have a good seat.

I think Kris’s priorities were fine. He did an industry shindig the day before, and inbetween rehearsing for his overseas gigs, he had time to see a friend, which is fine and doesn’t have to take up all his time.
