In a weird way it kind of make me feel better.
So, nothing personal toward Kris, per se. Of course Kris won the whole thing, so maybe they don’t like him more.
But, plenty of the audience in the Greek gave him a standing ovation after his set was finished.

Well I would be in their age group[ or maybe older?] & the first time I heard Kris do this I thought- how brilliant – not because he added Gangstas Paradise but because he blended the 2 so songs so well.

Its always interesting to see tweets at a concert where kris is one of the opening acts. Quite often the tone of the tweets changes [from the main acts fans], from the beginning of Kris’s set & after he’s finished. He & the band do seem to win more people over after they’ve seen them live than those that still think he’s a “karaoke singer”.
Just a comment from last nights perormance where Kris was the headliner- it was so good to see that Kris’s fans were so supportive of the opening act.

Obviously the standing people were more of fans of Kris, not like they will stand also during BNL.

Actually I should not say anything bad about BNL fans since the one concert I went to, I left as soon as Kris was done and never sat for one second watching BNL. I spent my time waiting for Kris to come out from the Meet & Greet. There was a huge screen behind us showing the live concert, but I still did not watch , afraid that Kris would run away to the bus without signing my things.

Wow, I’m very happy with tweets where people say they’re “extremely impressed” with Kris. I mean, I don’t think that’s necessarily typical for opening acts.

Overall, despite some negative tweets, here and there, I think Kris has been very successful on this tour, in impressing people and making a good reputation for himself.

I didn’t really see it as a mix up of the two Kris Allens. I think our Kris was just misidentified as a country singer because the man in question usually liked country music.

That almost made me cry – first because it was cool that the person telling the story had some significant intentional moments with his friend and second because it’s cool that LLWD helped inspire those moments. I hope Kris sees the story. And I read it just like Ross, did – that the description was because guy featured in the story liked country.

Much Thanks to everyone for your kind words on my first concert thread. You have Ratna12 to thank for directing me to photo and MJ for her rapid fire training. It was fun and I hope to do it again. Girlygirl & Mtlfan if you ever want a break or setup a rotation schedule, just give me a shout and I will be happy to do it.

I posted a link for a recap on the Borgota thread from the gal that Rickey mentioned in his interview/recap. Rickey pushed her wheelchair when she was on her way to the m&g with Kris. Her recap is sweet and wonderful in her devotion to Kris and her motivation to go see and meet Kris.

Kris seems to never take a day off. In the Rickey interview, he said he’s involved in the editing of the MV and it will be out ‘soon’. THis is something that CAN be done on the road via video conference calls. I wonder if that may be on the TTDT (things to do today) list.

Kris and the band don’t have a show today, but it isn’t really a day off in that they have to travel from Maryland to Michigan. Depending on whether they fly or take the bus, they may have a little bit of time to relax, maybe go out to dinner, etc.

Great job on these last couple threads! I’m glad you are enjoying doing it. Now that Kris is going to add more tour dates, I’m sure there will be lots of times for you to do more of these!

PS – Nice update on Hot AC chart for TT. Looking at who is losing spins and who is coming up behind him, it looks like TT would stay in the Top 20 for the next published chart even if the song doesn’t have a great week. But hopefully the bullet and spins will continue to increase.

Hi I just had a chance to skim over the comments last night, but this one cracked me up:

Now, for the fall tour does anyone think Kris could be touring with BNL again. I just got a tweet for tickets to a new BNL in Show in November. It doesn’t say who the opneing act is.

I am disappointed that most of the media here in Indy is not mentioning that Kris is opening for Keith on Saturday. I heard a marketing person for the Ind. State Fair on the radio talking about Keith’s appearance and no mention of Kris. Doesn’t seem like very good marketing to me. E-mailed the local Fox studio to ask if they planned to do an interview w/Kris – sent the link for the video of Kris/Keith doing “Boys of Summer.”

IDK if I’m recovered yet from the AC show! As most of you know, I attended the AC show w/hubby, who probably would have preferred gambling to attending a concert. He likes Kris, but spent most of his youth attending concerts and so it’s grown old on him as he’s grown older, so I now have a little different perspective of the mindset of some tweeters we’re following each concert (who many times have no idea we’re following them).

Hubby isn’t on twitter, but was texting with our son, saying it was torture even before the opening act even came out. When Chris N came out, he took a pic of him on stage (lonesome old Chris with the KAB setup behind him) from his cell phone and texted my son with the haha’s saying this is what he was missing, basically making fun of him.

If hubby’s texting series had been on twitter, everyone would certainly have taken it as a poor reaction to the opener, when in fact hubby was bored and trying to be funny w/our son before the concert even started. Once Chris N came out, it didn’t take long for my hubby to become engaged and entertained, and he agreed he was good. He certainly didn’t take the time to text our son back and say what a great performer the lonesome guy was, because that wouldn’t have been funny which was the purpose of his original texts.

I guess what I’m trying to say in a longwinded way is we have no idea of the mindset or circumstances of some of the concert goers who tweet – whether they were coerced by a friend/spouse who didn’t want to go alone, or won free tix they didn’t want to give up, or had nothing better to do and decided to just show up, etc., and we have no idea of the purpose of their tweets which may be to be funny, and may not be to provide an actual account of what is happening. Unfortunately for us, we don’t all get to follow KAB around the country so we wait for any type of tweet to attempt to experience that which we cannot experience 1st hand – something I’ve been doing for year – but I need to remind myself sometimes to not get worked up by everything I read because who knows what’s really behind the comment!

J9BT, very well said. I often feel like I’m eavesdropping on private conversations when reading the twitter lists for these concerts. It’s one thing if people have signed up to be listed, but too often these people have no clue what they say is being read by masses of strangers. They should be more aware of social media, of course.

Flip side is that a lot of these people ARE in it for the attention and out to get as many followers (total strangers) as possible. I get a little more than second hand embarrassment reading some of these tweets.

Just got home from the airport after my weekend of Kris concerts. I hope I don’t go into withdrawals now that I don’t have any KA concerts scheduled for the future. I will just hold onto the news off his fall dates and hope that we get more definite news about this quickly.

Luckily RL is going to be super busy for the next few weeks, which should also forestall withdrawal pains

Arkansas have been very supportive of Kris haven’t they. It seems they are very proud of anyone from there who is successful & kris should feel proud himself for receiving this.

girlygirl I am so pleased that you had recovered enough to go to these latest concerts. Do what those of us who can probably never see Kris on concert do- or at least I do- look over the wonderful videos from all the tour stops – it might help to ease your withdrawal pains!!

I just watched the Q & A on Mix 106.5 video.

Kris looked super gorgeous there and always smiling and seemed really happy.

-Finally, a question about why he doesn’t sing Let It Rain again. And he was non commital to sing that song. There is something going on between him and that song, I don’t get it. I know what that song is about, but I think of him as a positive person who doesn’t care about TPTB . Anyway, hopefully someday, he’ll sing it again.

-Interesting question about how much preparation doing Idol. The fact that there wasn’t much time to rehearse the song but as a musician it was easier for him because he could rehearse on the guitar / piano. And if the person can not do that, it is hard.

-Disappointed that he did not get to meet Paul McCartney. Someday.
