On Veterans Day eve, Maryland Public Television aired a holiday special featuring American Idol alums, Kris Allen and Melinda Doolittle. The entire 1 hour show has been uploaded to Youtube, and you can watch it right here!
The singers performed separately and together, accompanied by the Air Force band. Kris sang his hit song, “Live Like We’re Dying,”In Time” from his latest album, Horizons, and “Fighters,” from his second album, Thank You Camellia. Melinda performed “Declaration of Love,” “Home” (from The Wiz), and a medley of “Brave,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger,” and “Titanium.”
Together, the duo performed a lovely rendition of “Over the Rainbow” and “Freedom Song”–the latter with a singer from the Air Force band. This was the first time that Kris (season 8 winner) and Melinda (season 6 2nd runner up) performed together.
