I’ve always been glad that, as a woman, I didn’t have to see other people peeing next to me in public bathrooms. But that story was funny!

Kris seems to be pretty comfortable dealing with this newfound fame, doesn’t he? He’s so chill — nothing ever seems to get to him for long.

Seriously, could he get any more adorable? I don’t think so. And now, I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Randy and Simon were standing there peeing, talking to each other over Kris, having no idea that they were standing right next to the next American Idol, peeing. Awesome.

He seems super-relaxed in this interivew, by the way. Like he doesn’t have a care in the world.

Kris is so cool. He might be the most unassuming person in the world. Even though he’s just had this major change in his life, I doubt it will give him a big head, or result in him treating anyone differently than he did before. I love his sense of humor, and how he exudes confidence, but not cockiness.

That’s a hilarious story in retrospect. I think it would have calmed me down a little too, except it would have been weird for Simon and Randy to be in the women’s restroom.

Most of these little interview snippets aren’t very deep…they are just little slice of life fluff with no real substance and are used just to get Kris (or any idol) out in front of the camera. Wait until the radio interviews start when the album or single comes out. This will look like an epic literary masterpiece compared to those.

I think we just need to realize this kind of stuff is directed at the “very” casual fan and not to anyone really invested in the idol. And I thought the peeing story was priceless, and a nice way to put a human touch on everyone concerned.

This is funny but whenever I watch him I find that there’s a big grin on my face. Same thing when I hear or see him sing. To me he’s got a load of “it,” whatever it is.

What a cutie. I felt a little guilty staring at his lower lip, but it didn’t stop me. It isn’t just the little girls Kris… you are adorable!

Fun interview. He’s right — peeing next to people has got to be a leveler. (If they’d had Gene Simmons urinal cakes, they could’ve had 4 people from the finale in the same place. What are the odds?) Although I am a girl and have not done the stand up and pee next to people thing, I will say that standing in a big-ass line for the ladies bathroom is a leveler, too.

Where were the auditions in Louisville, anyway? The convention center? I’ve been to Louisville a million times and this is the first time I’ve wondered where exactly they were.

One other thing — this is the first time I’ve noticed what nice hands he has. (I think it was the air quotes.)

The Louisville auditions were at Churchill Downs.

I loved this interview. Kris is just so down to earth. He sounds happy and relaxed. His peeing story is a first! He does have a sense of humor and I love that he can laugh at himself. And people say he is boring. I think he would be a wonderful person, fun to be around.

Ha! I live in Nashville, and this reminds me of the first time hubby and I went to an event where we knew we would see celebrities. He said “They are just like us….they put their pants on one leg at a time….only their pants cost more than ours!”

“Ain’t No Sunshine” was the week I was waiting for because I thought I saw this potential in him from top 36. I’m so glad it came before the *Don Henley song* as he always refers to it. Otherwise, he may have been gone.

So being surrounded by Randy and Simon at the urinal was the FIRST sign that Kris was destined to become the American Idol! LOL!

People were speculating that maybe he went to Virginia Beach to work with Timbaland or The Neptunes. After that, somebody twittered that he was on a plane with them to Chicago. What if Chicago was to work with Kanye? Weirder things have happened.

As a side story, because I am talking about airplanes and people keep comparing Kris to Jason Mraz… My friend sat near Jason Mraz, not in first class, on a Southwest flight, I think. (They don’t have first class on Southwest.) She said he was kind of a snot. Although he had his eyes shut and appeared to be sleeping, he was also wearing headphones and listening to REALLY loud rap music, such that everybody else within the next three rows could hear his music, too. Finally, somebody tapped his shoulder and asked him to turn down the music and he was all, I’m sleeping! How dare you wake me up? And then people were snickering about how he could possibly be sleeping with music so loud blasting in his ears. So that’s my Jason Mraz close encounter story.

I saw an interview with him over a week ago where it sounded like he said people would be pleased with some of the “performers” on his c.d. to come out in the fall. I had to rewind and listen 2 more times to be sure that was what he said, and it definitely sounded like it. Don’t know if that means he has some big names collaborating with him, either writing or playing/singing, but I hope he has some quality input and good advice from other seasoned performers and isn’t just rushed to throw something out there. From what he’s said about sticking to the kind of music HE wants to do, I suspect that is what he will do.

Well, everything except album signings and tour news is kind of a non-story at this point, but it’s a fun little bit where we get to see more of Kris’ personality.

I agree with some of the other people above who don’t want Kris to change. He’s just too adorable as he is!

I’m thinking it was probably the Fray he was working with and not really Timbaland since he was at their concert, right? I wonder if Matt was jealous that he didn’t take him too? hehe

Love this guy! and I pray that TPTB do not throw Kris under the idol bus with the material for his new cd and the promoting of his music. I hope he was working with the Fray while in VA. what other songs is he singing on tour besides “natural disasters” song.

Honestly this is hilarious to me and much less of a non-story than Adam’s sexual orientation. He’s got a great self-depreciating sense of humor. I think it gives us a glimpse of who the man is, indeed.

He is adorable, and so funny in a very dry way. I like hearing random anecdotes from these guys–it’s a way of getting to know a little more of their personality without being too nosy about their private lives.

Anyway, watching Kris sing “Falling Slowly” on this video brings up a cool possibility for a collaboration…how cool would it be if he worked with Glen Hansard? Not only did Hansard co-write “Falling Slowly” and star in the movie “Once”, but he’s the lead singer and main songwriter for the group The Frames — which one of the most underrated bands in current music (IMO, anyway) — they are huge in their native Ireland and in the UK, but are basically a cult act here in the States. I think that could be a really cool collaboration

By the way, what does TPTB stand for? (I dunno..the producers that bitch?…) I’m usually good with text-y abbreviations, but this one escapes me.

That was a REALLY funny story. I’m glad I’m not a guy tho—weird to have to pee in front of people.

On twitter, a girl posted a picture of herself taken with Kris and Katy at a mall, and he was wearing the same shirt. She said how nice they both were. She was not one of those “little girls” he was talking about. I also heard he was mobbed by girls at the Fray concert the other night.

Love Kris. I really do think he is adorably normal and nice. He comes off as a really genuine guy in every interview. Cute story. Really don’t want to picture Simon and Randy peeing, but still I get his point. I do miss hearing more about him in the news now that the initial round of television and radio interviews are over, but I guess since he doesn’t have a supposedly “shocking” sexual orientation story for the media, we will have to wait until the tour. Can’t wait to see him in person. Hopefully he is having time to spend with his wife and family as well as practicing for the tour. I hope he will be singing Heartless, but I also love Man in the Mirror and Ain’t No Sunshine and Apologize and, well the list goes on and on. He almost can’t go wrong.

I don’t get to see the tour until the middle of August. Others won’t get to go until September. Long wait! Hopefully some magazine can do an actual in-depth profile of him at some point. I’ve read or watched a lot of stuff on the internet about Kris, told by his family and frinds, that has never really been covered in print. He’s an interesting guy.

In a way, though, it’s good to leave people wanting more, for now.
