It’s another State Fair gig, as Kris Allen opens for Keith Urban at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, IN. Local group 3Union is also on the bill — they will kick the concert off at 7 p.m. Eastern, with Kris and his band scheduled to hit the stage at around 7:45 p.m. Eastern.

UPDATE: Keith and Kris performed a new duet tonight, a cover of John Mellencamp’s “Jack & Diane” (video below cut)

    Thank you hoosiermama for the recap.

    I tried to take it all in—Kris, KAB the crowd, the music. It was all so magical and I tried to remember little details as his set unfolded, but it was all kinda a blur. The time just flew by!

    I know that we always try to prepare for Kris concert, but at the moment itself, everything was a blur. I think that’s why we always want to go to more concerts, thinking the next time we will be more “conscious”.

    We got quite excited when we’d spot a KAB member, and then when we saw Kris in the white tee, well, we KNEW it would be a good night!

    And Kris looked so good in that white T-shirt. Another bonus in watching the concert. You can not look away or very hard at that. In my case at Reno, I was very reluctantly looking at Cale a couple times, and as you know Cale is not ugly.

    Our favorite song was also FS/WOWY. I couldn’t believe he did it. I was so shocked and delighted as it started that I grabbed my friend’s leg and said “OMG FS!!!” Our jaws dropped!

    Exactly my reaction the first time I heard it live. OMG !!
    And so great that you got to hear a new duet. We were really surprised when we read the tweets – new duet – what ??
    Who knows what both K&K will sing next time.

    Till next time, Mr. Allen….because there WILL be a next time!

    There you go. I think the key for these new artists is to get fans to go to the first concert. If they like what they are seeing, that’s it then.

    As for the debut of TT music video, I wonder where/when they will premiere it. Several months ago, I just happened to see on vh1 an ad about Carrie U’s debut Undo It video at certain time. I DVR a certain program. Basically, they just put Carrie’s video at the last 10 minutes of that program; but from the TV schedule, you will never know it.

    Tomorrow’s vh1 schedule seems filled with Reality Show stuff.

    hoosiermama: Enjoyed your perspective on the concert!! Sounds like you had a good seat location except for the wire grid. My original seat location view of the stage – Cale then “post” then Andrew. Wouldn’t have been able to see Kris except when he moved around the stage. You had a great view of the holding area! Couldn’t see it from where I was sitting. Hadn’t seen that particular video of J&D – like the close-ups of Kris/Keith in this video. Yep that was me – good view of one of Keith’s attributes!!! Glad you enjoyed the concert too!

    ETA: Good thing I left after the K/K duet , when Keith came down off the stage I probably would have been trampled by KU fans lol.

    Well, she was standing because everyone was, but frankly I was so into watching the duet that I didn’t pay her any attention! So, I don’t know (probably was mentally writing her grocery list–haha!)!

    When he walked out and opened his mouth to sing “I see you girl, walking over here, can’t look away” my heart just melted! Gah!!! That voice was so strong and clear and warm—just like everyone has said, but it’s really true that when you hear it in person…YES! Oh my! I was a goner!!!     hey hglightly53–been meaning to ask you if you could see Nicole Kidman offstage from your vantage point. I could not, due to the white tent blocking the view. I so wanted her to pop out on stage for a wave! Just curious…

    Oh, and thanks for TT video–it was really nice. Good to hear it again!

    hoosiermama I couldn’t see Nicole or the white tent!
    Folks were really transient in my area – lot of movement going on – fans crowding the stage 3 and 4 deep – a little distracting (not complaining) had to laugh, I was on the aisle and moved out of my seat to let a KU fan by and she tried to take my seat. seriously – I guess she wanted an aisle seat to be near Keith when he came down from the stage. I thought it was funny!

    My feet were tapping, I was clapping and singing…all the while sitting next to Miss Partypooper. I warned this woman ahead of time I was there for Kris

    I know this is hugely late & the thread is dead but I’ve just come back from a week away & wanted to comment & say thanks Hoosiermama , hglightly53: & cookcricket for your recaps.
    As an Aussie I already loved Keith[ even though I am not a country music fan - i still like Keiths music as its more "rocky"] but love him more for taking Kris under his wing!!
    Hoosier – I love your comment above – there’s always one in the crowd- so glad you didn’t let Miss PP spoil your night. I am, so glad you & your friend had a great time.
