yeah, if he moved to CA from Arkansas, you need to take a new test to get a CA license. I’ve lived in several states including CA and they were really strict about it.

I actually liked that interview, even though the questions were the same old, same old. Kris seemed relaxed, and the interviewer treated him well, I thought. I love Kris’s speaking voice.

I also enjoyed this interview, despite the repeat questions.
The only things I did not know/heard before is the fact that he has not yet heard the song on radio and that his favorite TV show is House.
Now the LA stations need to start playing this song so Kris can drive around town and sing along!

I thought this was a pretty good interview. The only problem is that Kris has not heard his song on the radio – and I have heard it only twice. Have other people been hearing the song in their areas? Just curious. All I hear is Lady Gaga….

I have heard LLWD on several stations — but only by going online to the websites of stations I know have added it. I also heard it when Kris was interviewed on that syndicated radio show (something Party — can’t remember the name of the show now)

Well, Kris is based in LA now, and I believe that SoCal Top40 radio stations skew towards rhythmic (and dance?) tunes. That may be why he hasn’t heard yet. “Bosom Ball’ ..that’s a cute name. I wonder if Kris is slated to perform at all the “Jingle balls” this holiday season. I know Z100 is going to release the list of performers soon (Taylor Swift is set to appear in them)

Nine HAC stations added LLWD to their playlist this week! There were no Top 50 markets – 3 in California, 2 in Texas, Albuquerque, Akron, etc. – so it won’t be huge for his AI.

But 8 of the stations had not been playing LLWD previously so I think that should help out Kris’s spins this week.

LLWD was also in the Top 5 in total adds this week. Only Nickelback, John Mayer, Rob Thomas and Owl City had more.

Top 40 adds come in tomorrow.

About Kris’s “old man” tweet–he saw a man looking up into the sky and wondered what he was thinking. I liked it; I thought it showed Kris’s curiosity and imagination, as well as his interest in other people.

LOL — My guess is that the older man was thinking “Looks like it’s gonna rain!”

I can’t wait to see the video from Kris’ two performances on Thursday. I bet he’s more excited than when the AI tour started, it’s like he’s starting off on another new journey in his career.

I also love how Kris notices certain things, liike the nature pictures that he’s always tweeting. I think his knack for noticing things that most of us don’t see is one of the reasons why he’s able to connect so well to the songs that he sings, and one of the reasons why I can’t wait to hear a song that he has written. He knows how to get to the heart of a song without wasting time in generalities or cliches.

I think there’s a major difference between hearing your song while you are expecting it, and sitting in a studio, and hearing it when you are not expecting it, while you are driving down the street in your car, or in a grocery store.

So — is this going to be Kris’ album cover? And if so, does that mean they decided to just go with the self-titled “Kris Allen”?

I hope not. It looks like he’s attending a Sci-Fi flick in the 1950′s and some glowing green creature just entered the near empty theatre from behind. It’s the moment between Kris noticing the creature and realizing that he should be frightened because that thing is going to eat his brain. Of course, it’s probably just Clive and he’s just going suck out his soul, but it’s more fun to think it’s a monster that can actually be defeated.

LOL Kirsten. You sure have great imaginations and I bet you’re one great writer too!

Kirsten, I had similar thoughts about this pic. It reminded me somehow of “Thriller” with the movie seats and the eerie look. I’m not liking it too much for an album cover. The photo is nice, but not loving the setting…

I love the photo! Maybe they could play with the coloring of the text a little bit. But I think the photo is eye catching and that’s what you want when people are walking through the aisles.

Also, some posters on ontd_ai are saying that LLWD was #2 on Z-100′s Top 9 at 9!

aww, he’s freakin gorgeous on this pic. Made me this of a softer James Dean, not that’s in my era but I have seen movies and pics of him.

I have to disagree, though I enjoyed your scenario for the picture. I think the picture is good and Kris looks hot. Yes, there is a bit radioactive glow (from the monster), but I like the lighting personally and I like that it has some attempts at creativity and personality in it. Certainly better than last year’s album covers for Cook and Archie. Oy, what was with that? Could they have been any more dull? So for me (for you) this is a definite step up.

Hmmm. Can’t say I like the B&N cover. The pic is boring, the visual set up doesn’t tell me anything about the album or the artist. It has an old fashioned feel to it, like something out of the 1950′s – not exactly trendy. The yellow font is jarring – too bold, and looks out of place. All together a marketing and branding failure imo.

That’s true. There is tension in the photo which is pretty rare in album covers these days. It does make one think, so perhaps it will help to catch eyes which is part of the battle.

I don’t know. Cross promotion is my best guess, although it really just benefits the Script.

I like the album cover. They’re clearly trying to balance pretty Kris with just a bit of edge, as shown in the scratched font and his leather jacket (no plaid!), which is the sound Kris is going for as well. I like the color scheme and the font. I wish Kris weren’t so airbrushed, though. As for his random surprised expression, I think it’s lulzy.

Argh, I knew this would happen. NOW I have two copies of the same song (FYI, if you bought it before and then download the other one, both tracks will appear under the same “cover art” as if they’re two tracks on one album). And when I did this with DCTR I ended up with two copies of TOML and two of LO.
