I agree that the wings were a bonehead move, but I sort of like the boots. I’d like to hear whether Kris enjoyed being tall. LOL They just seemed to be having a little fun with this shoot. Sometimes that turns out amusing and other times it’s more WTF?! This time, for me, appears to be the latter. The fact that he’s a little too “made up” makes it worse, imo.

Ah well, life is often hit or miss, and this is a miss for Kris….

I really get your frustration with the youtube uploads. I also do my searches using the uploaded today or this week feature and they get buried FAST.

Ross, When I read about the GMA videos being posted on youtube, I googled Kris to see what the fuss was about, and yeah there were a hell of a lot videos posted under Kris. I think I had to go 3 pages just to see were the videos ended, but had you googled Adam you would have seen those same videos appearing under him, so who knows what the purpose of posting those videos were for and nearly half of them were like 15sec videos it was wasted time and space.

Fabulosity, thanks for describing what I was talking about. When I and a lot of other people were waiting for the video from the Dolphins tailgate party to be posted, and kept checking YouTube under “Kris Allen,” after a while all these videos suddenly were uploaded. Naturally, I have no way of proving somebody was doing this deliberately, but it was odd. Like you say, there were several pages, and some videos were only seconds long. And of course this stuff was weeks old, so the timing wasn’t easy to explain, either.

If you looked up Adam, or GMA, or whatever, you would have also seen these videos. But at that moment I think it’s safe to say a large number of Kris fans were on YouTube wanting to find those tailgate party videos. They had a specific purpose to be online looking up “Kris Allen” at that moment. So, dependng on your point of view, it may or may not be hard to believe that someone else, who had all these videos of Adam and Kris at the GMA performance, had no clue Kris was debuting new songs from his album at that same time. And just coincidendally chose that time to flood YouTube with a lot of filler that happened to have Kris’s name attached to it.

My personal opinion is it wasn’t a coincidence, but YMMV.

As for this Elle photo shoot stuff and the timing of it, I guess that after that video incident I suppose it’s natural to be suspicious of the timing of things that seem to ruin the enjoyment by Kris’s fans of his special moments.

But that’s just life, it’s not a conspiracy.

I’m just saying stuff like this always seems to happen, and even if people only do it because they need to feel important, or steal focus from someone as a prank or a gag, if nothing else it’s ill advised and immature.

No need for Adam to do plaid. He has worn plaid several times and he pulled it off beautifully. I was thinking that Adam wearing the wings will be awesome. I hope he does something with wings in the future. Adam really have a sense of style and he pretty much can pull-off anything.

My bad, sounded like you were saying it was some sort of conspiracy, because it certainly seemed like you were discounting it being coincidence. And here’s the thing, if it wasn’t coincidence, which is happenstance and, correct me if I’m wrong and forgive me, but than it’s deliberate, and that makes what people do to thwart Kris, some sort of active thing, i.e. a conspiracy.

Not to split hairs, but a conspiracy is when people get together and plot to do something underhanded. “An evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; plot.”
I never said people got together and plotted against Kris. Maybe one person decided to upload those videos, for example. I just was saying it often happens. You’re the one who took exception to my post in the first place. Let’s just agree to disagree, because I have my opinion and you have yours.

Well I can’t speak to “lots of people,” who questioned the timing of the GMA videos, because I’ve only ever seen this from you, sorry. As for ontd_ai putting the scans up, they did also put up the article, but frankly I don’t think it matters. There is no context where this picture doesn’t look awkward, and talking about how it’s supposed to look awkward is fine, I’ve done it myself. Talking about how I personally think it shows Kris’s great sense of humor, I also personally have said several times that I think it does, doesn’t negate that it’s a bad picture from a bad spread. Even the “real,” pictures aren’t that good, so not like mean ol’ ontd_ai was sabotaging poor Kris with giving out the real scans of a magazine. The real magazine pics/article will suck as well and that’s not Kris’s fault, that’s Elle’s fault. And having a scan of it, from any source, for whatever reason, was never going to change that.

just posting things the minute they become available, because that’s what places like ontd_ai and others do. They find content related to the show, and post it for everyone to enjoy.

Well, but that stuff is not theirs to post. For anyone to enjoy. It’s copyrighted. It’s okay if mj posts something like that, that has already been circulating on the ‘net, but I don’t really think it’s the place of ontd_ai to circulate it in the first place. You can see what happened in this case. A picture is taken out of the context of the article, and also it’s blown up larger than it appeared in the article so the quality of it is much worse than the magazine intended, etc.

I’m not a big fan of ontd_ai, sorry. They do a lot of stuff I don’t agree with (yeah, they also do some good things, but that doesn’t change my opinion of the other stuff).

I think the pic puts Kris in a good light; as others have said, it shows that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and that he’s in on the joke. The picture was taken to prove a point: that each star’s style has to “fit” his or her personality and can’t be forced. Elle could have taken a gorgeous picture of Kris in the wings and boots–he could have been posed in a more artistic way and shot in black and white (total missed opportunity there!); that could have resulted in a pic closer to the ones from the S7 spread. But because creating a beautiful shot wasn’t the point, they went with the funny pic. The point would not have come across as strongly if Adam had been dressed in Kris’s style, because the effect would not have been as jarring (there are plenty of pics on the web of Adam in jeans and plaid and without make-up). If anything, this pic is the most interesting of the whole spread, as the others don’t reveal anything new about the Idols or put them in a different light, the way last year’s spread did.

Omigosh, all the comments about Kris looking ‘gay’ . Kris doesn’t give a crap if he looks gay. He doesn’t have a problem with gay.

Saying he looks gay does not insinuate how he feels about gayness in any way. It is just an observation of the picture.
