dishwalla of course Adam is the breakout star, as well all have known he would be since the Top 36. But Kris and Allison still exist. I hope they do well, I really do. I’m a Glambert through and through, but I wish no ill will/failure on ANY Idol.

“Kradison” only exists with some diehard fans in blogosphere. No one knows or even cares about “Kradison” in the real world.

This is true. Most people I know in MY real world still mention Adam and Danny, and maybe Kris when they talk of Season 8.

I had to come up with a quick spreadsheet for my students to practice using formulas in Excel. I decided to use make believe student names in an election in the spreadsheet. For the heck of it, I used Danny’s, Adam’s, Kris’s, and Allison’s names in the spreadsheet. None of my students could remember who Allison was. I kept describing her, and finally one girl was like, “Oh yeah, my mom loved her.” Several thought that Adam was last years winner and that he beat Danny in the finale. Some thought Adam had beaten Kris in the finale. I know this is anicdotal but it goes to show how short people’s memories are.

Adam, Kris, and Allison are not really linked in the real world. Adam fans do not *Hate* Danny or want to make fun of him. It’s only some/many of the online fanbase that feels like this and really it’s a very, very small amount of people.

Those Examiner articles aren’t always the most accurate source, but that looks fairly detailed. So if true, Kris, Danny and Kim would definitely appear to be hawking their own CDs and possibly one or all of them performing, in addition to promoting AI and sale of the AI merch.

I don’t see any problem with that. And some of the shows follow airing the AI top 3 and top 2 episodes, which at least raises the possibility that the QVC show may get a plug during AI9 airtime to raise viewership for those who will be guesting on them. So even better.

If true, this is great news. As I’ve said before, I don’t have a problem with them selling this on QVC. Is it cheesy? Sure. But still, it doesn’t bother me. And I think Danny will have a good time. He generally has a positive attitude about everything he does and gives it his best.

I’m pretty shocked that kris Allen would do this. Danny and kim seem more like sales people that kris. Wow. Kinda weird. Upside–I live about 2 miles from the QVC studio. Never thought that would come in handy. Should I go with my kids and yell to him, “but we like alright with me better!” ??

Reality check – Adam Lambert is far from an overnight success. He struggled for 9 years to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

… and never got any leading roles. So, obviously, he is not as good as his fans think. LOL. And is there anything cheesier than fashion correspondent on the red carpet. LOLOLOL

If cheesy really bothered any of us, I think we wouldn’t spend so much time on a cheesy reality show American Idol!

AI is the ultimate cheese, from the back stories to the videos, to the group numbers, to the theme nights, to the Ford commercials they all do.

But its a means to an end; just like QVC is a means to an end ;)

Reality check – Adam Lambert is far from an overnight success. He struggled for 9 years to make a name for himself in Hollywood. It finally took going on a cheesy reality TV show to do that. I don’t see Adam as the kind of person who thinks QVC is beneath him. He’s a smart businessman and knows that QVC attracts a huge audience. If he was available, he would have probably done it.

ITA-I don’t think Billboard cares where the CDs are sold when they rank them in their top 200. Perhaps if Adam wasn’t out of the country, he would be on QVC with Danny and Kris? Who knows?

IDK? Ask Beyonce and Taylor Swift! LOLOLOL

It makes sense they would have Kris do this. He is the latest winner of American Idol.

  • smeggingnuts

OK FYI I when I said Danny less busy than Kris, I wasn’t trying to imply that Danny was sitting around twiddling his thumbs on the couch. I know Danny has been busy, I know he has beenp laying alot of gigs.

And just because I’m an Adam fan I dont’ hate Danny nor to I make fun of him. I wish him the best of luck and hope he and all the others have nice long careers.

I also dont’ think hawking stuff on QVC is beneath Adam or any of the others. Acctually I would love to see Adam do this…I would be drooling over the increase in album sales.

But I think lorismile is right it does make sense for Kris to do this since he is the current champ.

Yes ASOLUTELY. Hawking shit on QVC

19E is a business and a smart business protects the image of the one who’s bringing in the big bucks. There’s a lot that Adam has done that Kris and Danny are not. He’s in Europe again on another international PR swing. He’s got the backing to headline his own tour rather than opening for larger acts. He’s been embraced rather enthusiastically by the industry. Adam gets invited back both to perform on AI and to serve as a mentor, while Kris appeared with Allison on his and only performed. Kris is a nice guy, but he admits that he doesn’t enjoy the PR stuff and he’s not as adept at it as Adam is. Both of them have platinum selling singles, but Adam’s album has far outsold Kris’s both in the US and overseas.

LOL how do you know that Adam is bringing in the big bucks? Do you have insider information on the financial records of 19E? It’s pretty obvious that 19E has been paying tonnes of money to pimp him on primetime TV shows, magazines, international tours and even get him to appear on AI for two consecutive days which even no AI winner gets to. AI producer, Ken Warwick, has admitted that Adam has been struggling painfully. He definitely knows something. I’m willing to bet that despite Kris having a lower sales, his returns on investment is many times higher than Adam since 19E does not have to spend much to pimp him. Any businessperson would tell you that a high ROI is the most important performance indicator of a business.

So if you were in charge of 19E, who would you send to QVC?

I might send Adam since he fits in nicely with such a cheesy show but then he would not be a good representative of AI. I mean one-third of the population would probably go “what is this?” if they see him on TV. Kris would represent AI well although I’m relunctant for Kris to appear on such a cheesy show that would stain his artistic image.

ETA: It’s pretty irritating when people try to parrot my opinions when they respond to my comments. If they have used a bit of common sense and really tried to understand my comments, they would not have miscontrued what I really mean. Anyway, I’m not going to waste my time debating with them.

  • bridget

“LOL how do you know that . . . despite Kris having a lower sales, his returns on investment is many times higher”?

“Do you have insider information on the financial records?”

Why would “one-third of the population . . . probably go ‘what is this?’ if they see [Adam] on TV” when Adam has been “on primetime TV shows, magazines, international tours and even . . . on AI for two consecutive days which even no AI winner gets to”? (And why would AI consent to that if they thought “he would not be a good representative of AI”?)

All the idols just want to do their thing, sing their songs, sell their stuff. They all have marketing plans. They and their management, of course, put that above questions of relative “cheesiness” vs. “coolness” (however those terms are defined).

That’s right. Adam’s fans only hate Kris. They don’t mind if any other people succeed, but Kris success just make them mad…

  • smeggingnuts

    kino
I was responing to people saying that all Adam fans hate Danny and make fun of him. I don’t hate or make fun of any of the other contestants on the show. I wish them all the best. But it seems to me that with any contestant there is a percentage that gets “mad” when its not theirs that has some success. Be it Kris, Adam, or Danny. There is always fans of another that get mad. Unfortualty this doesn’t seem to apply to Allison the poor thing I wish she was having more succes. Hopefully touring this summer will help with that. And no that is not because she is touring with Adam but because she is getting to tour period.

Oh, I don’t think any of the Danny fans here thought you were hatin on Danny at all! Sorry you had that impression.

Its just that when someone states something like Danny isn’t as busy as Kris so that is why he has the two QVC gigs, those of us who follow Danny’s every move so really are in the know, just want to set the record straight! There is much less information about Danny, and he has had much less PR, so I don’t blame anyone for not knowing what is going on with him. That is why us Danny fans here are so annoyingly persistent in our attempts to bring any news of him :)

A lot of fans like more than one Idol and buy more than one Idol’s music :)

  • girlygirl

I think it’s safe to say that Kris, Adam and Danny have all been crazy busy with the former two having had very little time off at all since AI ended last May. A week off at a time probably seems like a long break to Adam or Kris right about now. And Danny’s been running around doing gigs and promotional appearances since January at least.

As for this QVC thing, I think I could argue that this isn’t even the cheesiest thing they’ve had to do. And is it helps them sell their albums, it’s all good. I’ll laugh at it, but I’m hoping it helps their sales at the same time.

  • Kanadie Bonttell

I like how Adam has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread at all, but yet people can’t resist to talk about him, whether it be in favor of or against him..which is exactly one of the reasons he gets so much media exposure compared to the other Idols! You either love to love him or love to hate him….a win-win in my book either way! :)

  • smeggingnuts

Personally I think it would be awesome if they did a Top 4 from S8 to launch that. I wanna see shinanegians (errr no idea how you spell that) lol

  • steph6449

Exactly. Was just posting to correct any factual misperception. Danny is way busy, and I believe very possibly more so than Kris at this point in time as he has had an earlier start on regular touring plus still is doing radio and GAC/CMT interviews on a pretty regular basis.

One indicator how busy Danny’s schedule has been and looks to continue — his lead guitar player, formerly with Little Big Town and others, just left Danny’s band saying Danny’s schedule was too much for him, lol! He’s going to work now with Julianne Hough, whose country concert schedule may be, err, just a bit lighter than Danny’s ;)

If they wanted an AI8 artist with spare time, sadly I think that would really be Allison, not any of Kris, Adam or Danny.

Now that we are hearing that Kris and Danny will be performing on QVC, this is sounding like a pretty good deal. I’ll certainly tune in to Danny’s show, and possibly Kris although I’m not a big Kris follower.

  • toonces1966

For some reason, this makes me laugh, but good for them!

Kim, keep your paws off Danny and Kris. LOL

  • Raye

It really does not matter whose sales are higher, whose income is greater, who is the busiest, they are all doing what they love and having a great time doing it, and all thanks to AI. As for QVC, watch and enjoy whatever happens, it is a chance to see Danny and Kris.

  • iLisaLisa

OK, as for Kris’ appearance on QVC, I have to say, I’ve purchased a few things from that channel. I love Robert Elizondo’s sterling silver ECCLISSI watches. It’s the only place I can find them and they’re gorgeous! So, what the heck? The channel moves A LOT of merchandise. So if Kris profits from it, I see nothing wrong with it. The hosts are, for the most part, sweet down-to-earth people who will love him and make him feel perfectly at home. Best of all, they’re paid handsomely to do the selling. Kris won’t have to!

  • cher

I’m late to this debate, but my opinion is that any exposure is good exposure. QVC has a huge audience. I would love Adam to go on and hawk his stuff too. I’m sure he’d love to do it. Sales are sales, no matter where they come from. Many celebrities sell their items on QVC with great success. I’m positive Kris, Danny and Kim will sell lots of stuff, mark my words.
