Kris Allen and Jordin Sparks to Perform at the Z100 Jingle Ball

New York City’s Z100 Christmas Ball, is one of the hottest radio station concerts of the holiday season.

An Idol or two is usually in the lineup, and this year is no different. (Last year, David Archuleta was invited, Jordin performed the Jingle Ball for the first time, the year she won)

Two American Idol winners, Jordin Sparks from Season 6 and this year’s winner, Kris Allen are set to take the stage at Madison Square Garden on December 11, along with Taylor Swift, John Mayer, Justin Bieber, The Fray, Boys Like Girls, Pitbull, Owl City and Jay Sean for the big concert.

Idols will be playing radio station concerts throughout the season. I’ll be updating my Idol Appearances Page this weekend with the latest dates, so watch out for that…

    This is a really strong lineup and it is a good gig for Kris to have landed – although not really a surprise since LLWD has done really well on that station. Good for Jordin, too. Did she do this show after she won S6?

    If I didn’t live all the way across the country I could definitely see myself going to this

    Ok, but, in all seriousness, this is pretty cool! I’m not thrilled at the whole line-up (the faster Justin Bieber disappears from my sight forever, the better, and I’m not fond of Owl City’s song at all), but having Kris there redeems all of that, and, heck, having Jordin there is great as well.

    Wow. That’s a great line-up. Lots of whos-who in Pop radio. It’s great to just get on the bill and to be able to network.

    The Z100 Jingle Ball always seems like such a fun time for all.

    Wow, that’s an amazingly awesome lineup! I could also do without Justin Bieber, but everyone else looks great, and seeing Owl City would be a hoot.

    whoa!!! And I’m already excited about the Sacramento Jingle Ball lineup (Jason derulo, Justin Bieber, Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls and of course, KA). The Z100 lineup is a hundred times better. Congrats to Kris for getting this gig!!!

    there is a lot there for all tastes. Justin Bieber is so popular with young teens. I was looking at the ipod of my niece yesterday (she’s 13) and there he was..
    there are 10 artists/groups performing. I guess they’ll do like 3 songs each?

    Not necessarily. I remember from last year that the bigger stars got to perform a half-hour to an hour long set. I specifically remember Lady Gaga doing 1 song (Just Dance). The other acts did 3-5 songs. I remember the Archie fanbase being schocked when he was one of the few acts who got to perform longer. lol The order they perform doesn’t necessarily reflect their popularity though.

    Here in my country, there are ATLEAST two top radio stations where his song, LLWD, is the number one most requested. But, then again most AI alum are HUGE here. Hahaha.

    Oooh, Owl City! I didn’t find out about their recent show here until it was sold out. I didn’t know they were in to big promo gigs like this. I guess that’s what a hit single does to you. Very cool. Good line-up! Okay, except that Beiber kid. Sorry, just not a fan.

    Does anyone know if the West Coast has these things? I might try to catch an LA one (KISS FM, maybe?) this year.

    That’s a very interesting line-up, lots of popular names out there. Sounds like a good show to go to, even for those acts that one might not personally like. I will agree about that Justin Beiber being the biggest DNW part for me.

    And yeah the Idol winners do this each year, but still it’s a good gig and I’m sure Kris will do with however many songs he’s allotted. Wish I could go to this, but between it being across country and during the holidays, not going to happen.

    Yes, KISS FM is having theirs on Dec. 5th at the Nokia. Nobody from AI is listed in their lineup. I have to admit, other than Taylor Swift, I don’t know any of the artists on there. But I also can’t stand KISS and what they normally play.

    I am SO happy for Kris, getting to meet John Mayer and others! Last year when David Archuleta was there he had a ball, singing at Madison Square Garden, etc., etc. ~ plus getting lots of stage practice for his solo tour. I forget who he shared the stage with ~ Lady Gaga and Shontelle ~ and maybe it was Rihanna? Great experience for Kris too! I would love to attend one, but I don’t think they come to the South. Hopefully, will get to see Kris on his upcoming tour.
