Awwwww, that interview was so sweet. He’s a charmer. I cant help feeling bad for him when he says Adam is amazing and should have won. He’s gotta stop that. Its gonna be rough on him for a few days and the tour is gonna be tough as well cause the louder noise will be for Adam. These kids have the world by the balls right now.

  • http://www.dancin.ca dancin

he is such a cutie and so laid back and modest

and i love his voice :)

  • CFIdolsfan

I cant help feeling bad for him when he says Adam is amazing and should have won. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gotta stop that. Its gonna be rough on him for a few days and the tour is gonna be tough as well cause the louder noise will be for Adam.

I am sure it will sink in. I hope there will be some sportsmanship and the gracious-loser attitude shown on these tours. I have already read enough nastiness from people because their favorite did not win. All they will do is turn people off and represent their favorite poorly.

  • thedingoateyobaby

I will be very curious to see how the tour sells compared to others. It will be interesting.

  • t2

Wow!!! Kris’ initial audition was incredible. Can’t believe the idiots at ai buried it. Someone needs to remind these people it’s a singing competition. Oh yeah, why for goodness sake would they have made Kris do a sing-off?

Michael Sarver should stop trying to use big words.

  • Allison

Kris is just such a good guy, and gives credit to everyone. He’s a credit to Idol, for sure.

  • Little Boy Blue

    Folks,

We all know after 8 seasons of Idol that the winner isn’t necessarily the most successful ( sales-wise or even career-wise ) post-idol.

At this point in time, IT DOES NOT REALLY MATTER WHO WON.

It could still be possible that Adam Lambert ends up the real winner when it comes to concerts and album sales.

  • risalea

He’s much more comfortable talking about the music than himself. His interview skills will grow like his music has.

I think he’s gonna’ be a refreshing breath of fresh air to what you often see in the pop world.

    Go Kris!

  • t2

Hearing at least a tidbit of all that was going on behind the scenes, this season reminds a lot of Season 1 Clarkson vs. Gray (uhhhh…I mean Guarini) Definitely a come out of nowhere (and evidently the judges tried to keep Kris there) win.

  • Stephen Garcia

I’m sure someone else said this but there is Kris
again being amazing…saying, “I love [Adam] to Death”
and no beat, no worry, and no need to say in a
godly way (or worse) in the right way.

I think that I’m gay and that I’m an Adam fan and
    voter, is no secret.

However, congratz to KRIS. Congratz to his fans.
And Kris, listen to the advice, one might even say
from day one, the time for total humility is over.

    Be the Idol!

  • Stephen Garcia

Gesh, Gokey talks about Kris by talking about
    himself.

    Rolls eyes.

  • TKat

I think Kris and Adam both won. Kris is very nice, but I can’t see him having more commercial success than Jorden Sparks. (Unless he does Country music.) Adam will either be wildly successful or not, but I think he will be a big star.

The loser, American Idol. Who will want to vote next year after seeing that a handful of people can get someone into the contest by power texting and that a few thousand people in your home state can put you over the top with millions and millions of votes.

  • sillypraguer

Michael Sarver should stop trying to use big words.

    LOL.

  • Ward Hunt

Absolutely Amazing! Both of these guys won. My hope back when all the Adam/Danny finale pimping started was that someone would sneak in and take that crown from both of them (I LOVE Adam, can’t stand Danny) just to poke it at the AI machine. And about 8 weeks ago is when I got on the Kris bandwagon. Way to go Kris!

  • TwigLA

Kris is so smooth and down to earth, and truly talented. He never wavered from being himself or in his appreciation of others. It’s his quiet unassuming demeanor that has caused people to be surprised at his progression to final victory. I think that many of his fans reflect that personality.

We saw at least part of his audition during his group 2/top 36 performance. He, Adam, and Allison were who the viewers voted through. Yay us!

That he chose a Leon Russell song is what made me notice him. This kid knows Leon Russell??? I wanted to hear more. I’ve liked and an most cases LOVED what I’ve heard.

I think he’ll handle the media and fanase backlash just fine. I think Adam will also. They’re going into this as best bros and co-winners.

  • mac

I think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gonnaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ be a refreshing breath of fresh air to what you often see in the pop world.

If he makes it in the pop world, I will be totally amazed! I don’t think he stands a chance. He is nothing like what pop music is playing today. I agree with TKat, Country music would be a good route for him. It will be interesting to see what label he gets signed to.

  • sidewalk

I actually think there is a major outlet for Kris in pop music – that is, JMraz, Jon McLaughlin, John Mayer singer-songwriter pop music. That’s what he’s been singing all season, why would he do anything else?
And he is really a sweetheart. I have a lot of respect for him staying true to himself and not being frustrated by the depimping. I hope he makes a great record. He really does deserve this.

  • virgo03v

I think Kris and Adam both won. Kris is very nice, but I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see him having more commercial success than Jorden Sparks. (Unless he does Country music.) Adam will either be wildly successful or not, but I think he will be a big star.

I thought Jordin had the worst debut album of any Idol winner??? But yeah. I always saw Kris in country. I have a feeling that isn’t what he wants to do though.

  • Chipmunk

I think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gonnaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ be a refreshing breath of fresh air to what you often see in the pop world

Nope , he’s just joining a very large pool of people in the Mraz/Johnson genre, except, they have more talent

  • Chipmunk

Country music would be a good route for him. It will be interesting to see what label he gets signed to.

Dont 19E/Jive sign the winner and first runner up? I doubt he wants to do country but he may well have some success there, because he wont be a breakout/standout in the genre he currently favours

  • Chipmunk

I thought Jordin had the worst debut album of any Idol winner???

    Erhh..taylor*cough*hicks*cough*

  • BootStar

I’m sorry, I find him so incredibly charming and poised. I know a lot of people thought he lacked personality early on, but I always sensed that he was trying to be true to himself and not be manipulated by what was going on all around him, and he was so fucking smart how he played their game. The producers did everything they could to hide how talented and mature he was, and they failed. Bigtime.

Class act, this kid. So proud of him. His victory takes nothing away from Adam, IMHO. They both are incredible in spite of the shit they went through to be the last two standing.

  • Isuzan

I love Kris – this coming from a die-hard Adam fan…because he acknowledges that Adam should’ve won. Truer words were never spoken. He is so gentle and kind – and a talented singer, so I wish him all the luck in the world and can’t wait to meet them on tour!

  • wjmtv

Very well put, Bootstar. I couldn’t agree more.

  • Tony

Awwwww, that interview was so sweet. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a charmer. I cant help feeling bad for him when he says Adam is amazing and should have won. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gotta stop that.

Kris Allen is the new Rafael Nadal. Nadal beats Roger Federer (who many consider the greatest tennis player of all time) like every day but Nadal can’t stop saying that Federer is better than him….even though Nadal is the new #1. lol

  • Chipmunk

Kris Allen is the new Rafael Nadal. Nadal beats Roger Federer (who many consider the greatest tennis player of all time) like every day but Nadal canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t stop saying that Federer is better than himà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.even though Nadal is the new #1. lol

Errr, more like Andy Roddick, who beat Federer once or twice, and never again, and was totally eclipsed later on..and always gives Federer his due by saying he’s better..its not humility, its truth! Just putting a more realistic spin on your analogy, which i love BTW

  • calimari

He is very gracious. I’m happy for him. I was hoping for Adam but I knew it would be Kris. Sarver should avoid big words, agreed. And Lil thought HE had an accent? LOL. Can’t believe they didn’t show his audition or singoff or anything. Kudos to the cannon fodder!

  • jackclawsonz

Nice performance Adam!I wish you won!Anyway…way to go Kris! All the best! I was tracking u guys last night off Trackle.com

  • Suzanne

I hate that we didn’t see the sing-off! Maybe the person he sang against was the person that had been featured in the early auditions? So, so curious.

I love that Kris made it the whole way on musical talent including but beyond singing. His arrangements, interpretation, and instruments make him such a three-dimensional performer/recording artist.

  • karenw

What a lovely interview .. I’ve enjoyed watching both Adam and Kris’s interviews today .. what class acts they both are. I’m a huge Adam fan but strangely I don’t feel too disappointed that Adam didn’t win as I think that Kris seems a lovely guy and I’m glad that they’re both going to get an opportunity to further their careers.

Oh and as a side note to Gokey and Sarver … how lovely was it to see Kris say about Adam “I love him to death” .. and not feel the need to “clarify” anything.

Good Luck Adam and Kris .. you deserve success, both of you

  • TKat

It odd that they never showed the Kris sing-off. And now they also release more of Adam’s audition. So Adam didn’t start with Bohemian Rhapsody in his audition.

To Kris fans who think the producers were against Kris from the start, I think you are wrong. A few examples:

    1. Kris got the best homecoming video. Without a question.

    2. The Final intro for Adam was about how he screamed as a baby and was a lot of trouble; Kris was the shy kid with talent who gave his mom song coupons. Ahhhhh!

    3. Compare how they portrayed Kris’ family to Adam’s. They didn’t even air a clip of Adam and his mom’s home coming interview.

    4. They did everything they could to tell people “Adam = gay” — he likes to dress up in costumes, his audition was Bohemian Rhapsody (when that was a request by the producers), Ryan mentioning only two prior Adam performances in the Final competition — Believe and Bohemian Rhapsody. Simon saying “theatrical” with a wink.

    5. They never showed the Kris sing-off. My guess is it wasn’t very good because Kris’ shyness seems to really get in the way of his performances, and it was far more noticeable in the beginning of the competition.

I sincerely believe that Adam had more voters, just not more votes. And I expect that record sales will prove that Adam has more fans. But I am actually starting to realize that winning was really good for Kris, and coming in second will be really good for Adam, because it will help both of them be taken more seriously in the music world.

Finally, I think that all Kris fans should really thank Adam for being so sincere in his support of Kris’ win. There is not even a tinge of meaness or envy in his interviews. I can only imagine what the press coverage (and fan anger) would look like if Adam acted more like Daughtry did when he was voted off.

  • Sunshinegirl

Aw! What a sweetie! I hope the backlash will die down. He really did deserve this. They both did. But I hope Kris will start to take ownership of his win more and not be so modest about it.

One question, why the heck don’t they ever interview his lovely wife?! Even Ryan ignored her when he talked to Kris’s parents at the Finale. I’d love to hear from her. They show her a lot, but we never hear her talk. Weird. If they were trying to downplay him being married, I would think they wouldn’t keep cutting away to camera shots of her.

  • RemusL

Kris is very nice, but I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see him having more commercial success than Jorden Sparks.

TKat, I’m sure Kris would love Jordin’s success. She ranked 4th on the Forbes Top Earning Idols list for last year, making $3.1 million. The only ones ahead of her were named Carrie, Jennifer and Kelly.

  • david90531

    I love his dad xD
Congrats KRIS ALLEN. You deserved this :)

  • AC

I love Kris! and his interviewing skills have gotten much better too! haha

I think Kris will do really well for his debut cd. He has great commercial appeal and has shown what type of artist he is- those are the only one that does well in the real world. Jordin was a fantastic singer but no one knew what direction to put her in. The reason Carrie did well was because she defined herself in the competition. For those comparing him to Taylor Hicks and saying he won’t sell, that is crazy! Taylor just wasn’t commercial enough even though he was popular.

I think for the tour, there will definitely be a lot of loud cheers for Adam, and probably more for him in big cities, but Kris probably has more support elsewhere. This is just a major generalization but I really do love them both and it’s obvious that they love each other so I’m hoping that we can all get along now. haha

Btw, I’m super happy the morning news stories are making it and underdog story and not a cultural story. =)

  • annabelina

Kris’ interviews are a lot better than I thought they would be.

Kris is my favorite of the two, but oddly enough, I wanted Adam to win, however, I didn’t vote either way, so Kris’ win came with a mixed bag of emotions, but after watching his interviews and reading several recaps, I’m genuinely glad the humble guy next door who-peaks-behind-people-once-an-a-while-to-say-hello won. In your face Simon Cowell.

Lol at everyone commenting about how Adam will overtake Kris in the long run. Crystal balls abound! Hehe. Not that I can talk. I’m pretty sure I said something of the same when Allison was eliminated. In all seriousness of ALL of the contestants: we’ll see.

  • helaena

Kris! I am so proud of you! It’s very heart-warming knowing that a man like you, so kind-hearted, so mellow, so humble and sincere have achieved the unimaginable! You did it man! You’re fans are here to support you all the way!!!

  • zs

I love Kris, hope his stardom does not take away the niceties in him that truly makes him adorable. I was also surprised to learn that he had a sing off to make it to the top 36. He is a genuine idol find and makes this show worth watching in spite of all the meanness that it brings to lots of other people. Disappointed in Adam not winning, but we have seen he will do fine with/without the title. Kris’s endearing casualness w/talent will make him a great idol. best wishes

  • helaena

As a big big big Kris fan, I appreciate the support Adam has been giving him. Knowing Kris as a shy guy and unassuming, I definitely believe Adam helped him be more confident as a person, as a performer and as an artist. It helps when you have very positive people around especially with their circumstance, with all the judging and the critics around them all the time. So having someone around as confident as Adam yet as nice as well is definitely good and for that, I thank you Adam Lambert! You have been a part of molding Kris Allen and a part of this Kris Allen success!

  • Sunshinegirl

Kris is AWESOME! Sweetest victory story yet! :)

  • chicksineggz

    If you guys are wondering.

Kris had to sing off against Kenny Hoffpauler, who happens to be 16. or 17. (sp?) Kenny was shown for about 2 seconds singing on the show. It was during Hollywood week and he sang I’m Yours (I think) I don’t know this guy personally but he’s in a local band where I live, and I know two people who are also in his band. In fact, this one girl in my class has a personal grudge against Kris because he beat Kenny.

  • wand3rful

aww, man, great attitude, great talent….loved seeing his family snuggled up w. the lamberts.

and it was refreshing hearing him say i love adam to death…without having to explain himself.

btw, great audition, i love that song…and again shows me that he has good taste in music (hope producers, AI allow him to explore that on his album)

  • wand3rful

Finally, I think that all Kris fans should really thank Adam for being so sincere in his support of Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ win. There is not even a tinge of meaness or envy in his interviews. I can only imagine what the press coverage (and fan anger) would look like if Adam acted more like Daughtry did when he was voted off.

LOL, i swear you are posting this under every story. kris fans have been nothing but gracious towards adam, at least this one has. but lets keep it real, BOTH kris and adam have handled this beautifully….example: kris telling adam he too deserved to win was (shed tear). these guys (and their families) are class acts. lets follow their example :wink1_tb:

  • ShariG

What is not to love about Kris Allen. What a sweetheart. Both Adam and Kris are great guys and great talents. I would have been happy with either winner, but I have to say I am ecstatic that Kris won. I was not planning on going to the tour, but now I have to be there to see them in person. Kris is my kind of guy and my kind of singer. I downloaded No Boundaries and he actually made that song good. That is the magic of Kris.
