Hmmm, looks like a simple stage set-up. I liked the catwalks. I hope they’re not gone.The set-up for season 7 that put Cook right out into the audience was very cool.
Wonder if having Adam, Kris, and Allison doing other things and being gone might cause a “divide” in the closeness of the group. I guess the guys will like it if Adam and Kris are gone to other places to record. It’ll make more room on the guys’ bus.

Adam calling Kris on the cell telling him he was 15min late, If I was Allison I would have said to Kris – “And then u rolled over & said ‘Thanks Adam.” MUWAHAAAAAHA. Oh I KID, oh I crack myself up sometimes.

That video was great–one of the better group interviews (not too cheesy, either). Allison and Kris being inspired to get moving by calls from Danny and Adam–what a hoot!

By the way, I live in Seattle but Portland is my hometown and it is a truly beautiful and fab city (not that I’m biased). I hope the idols have some fun in addition to preparing for the big night on Sunday. I actually sent a couple of twitters to Adam, Allison and Matt with recommendations for things to see and do (no sales tax for the shopaholics, the country’s largest bookstore–Powell’s, and amazing restaurants the most microbreweries in the country). I’m turning into too much of a fangirl here…

Matt G tweeted that they saw the stage and video (video that opens the show?) and that it looks amazing. He sounds really excited–very ciute!

And….I couldn’t resist and last night bought a ticket to the Seattle show next Tuesday. Since I bought 1 ticket, I was able to be in the middle section only 17 rows from the stage. I cannot believe I did this, since I am not really able to afford it, but I couldn’t resist after hearing about some of the latest details — and that Adam is doing Bowie. I am a total Adam fan, but I am also really looking forward to seeing Kris, Allison and actually just about everyone else. As a musician and singer, I really want to hear Adam sing live and to hear how everyone else sounds live as well. Now I just have to drive to Tacoma–about 40 miles south of house in Seattle–in rush hour traffic. Ugh. Luckily, I know where the free and almost free parking is around the Tacoma Dome–hee!

The tour bus, they should put Kris and Michael on the girls’ bus – they’re both married and therefore there is a “perception” that they are not threatening.

Anyone else think Scott might not be traveling on the bus b/c of his aide, his brother and is obvious needs???

In the beginning of the season when they did a lightning round of questions for the top 10, Danny was the only one who had to “think” about his answers, and also changed his mind about his responses a couple of times. He’s not very good spontaneous responses.

Remember…these buses are to get them from point A to point B. The Idols usually stay in a hotel especially if they have an off day. Rarely are the shows back to back unless there is negligible travel time…say 3 or 4 hours at the most. Otherwise there is usually a full travel day. The idols may be on the bus for 12 to 16 hours on a travel day but that would be the limit. Though I think the Idols may be flown between destinations that are extremely far apart, especially since Adam, Allison, and Kris might be flying back to LA on the off days.

I think I have been doing this “idol watching” far to long….I know the most trivial stuff.

That looks like the bus from last year. We got to look in the windows at Ft Wayne. Also, last year Jason got in trouble for taking a pic inside the bus, as did the girls. All those vblogs were deleted. Not sure if it will be the same this year.
I’m wondering how Adam, Scott and Anoop will fit in those bunks! They’d have to be at least 6’2″ long.
I read that Allison’s mom and a couple background singers will be on the girls’ bus.

I went on the websites for the two Portland newspapers, and neither one has even a brief mention of the fact that the American Idol tour is even going to be there this weekend. The one paper has a “live music” column listing concerts for the coming days — no mention at all of AI tour.

Hopefully there will be some sort of coverage in the paper this weekend!

AC – I’m hoping for more than just the single ladies dance. Michael and David were the highlight of the group finale last year with their Mavid antics so, if we’re truly lucky, Anoop and Matt will have a “surprise” addition each nite. The Moop, perhaps?

Thanks Heart for the link to Eclipse, very touching. There are already comments about how this is Adam’s favorite song. It’s amazing how fans react to him. I was at a book store today, looking at OK, Star and some other fluffy celeb magazines, and Adam was in every one that I looked at, just a mention with a small pic here and there. (Kris is showing up too, no worries.)

Like the above vid for the coverage on some of the other idols. One thing I’ve noticed is that Lil is not bothering me at all in these interviews. She just seems like a mother trying to provide for her family and she seems real and friendly. All in all, I expect even the ones I like less on the show to turn out to be great when heard live. Anoop, an early fave who faltered at times, has sounded surprisingly good in every one of these clips. July 31!

You think you’re obsessed with the trivia? After reading your post, I looked at the tour schedule and counted the intervals! Most of the shows are back-to-back — I counted 30 overnights, something like 19 1-day-off intervals, and one 2-day-off interval.

The last four dates are pretty brutal — no days off, going from Portland, ME to Providence to Syracuse to Manchester, NH. Both legs to and from Syracuse are in the neigborhood of 5-6 hours. They’re probably going to be glad that’s the end!

Now, I’m an Adamtard to the bone, but I thought it was beyond ridiculous that she didn’t even mention Kris, except in the context of “the others.” I had to read it through twice to even see that he was mentioned.

Drop It Like It’s Hot was a song by L’il Wayne, then later Snoop Dogg. It can mean a lot of different things. I think here they were using it to mean sexy dance moves? Maybe.

In Danny’s twitpic it looks like Adam and Allison got re-blued for the tour. Both have way more blue then before. Love Kris’ shirt and Danny looks better clean-shaven with no glasses, IMO.

Guess what, if Kris sees this he’ll be just fine. This Amy Carrier must be a fan girl. Even if this kind of thing continues throughout the tour, good for Adam-I’m happy for him.

I understand. Hey, I don’t hate Scott. I find him amusing, and obviously he has his strengths. Going to college at 14 years old is a big deal among his other credentials. But dang, if he can NOT sing. He really just sounds bad to me, and it looks like to Adam, too.

Danny just posted this on Twitter. I’m assuming this is today since Danny has no facial hair and no glasses. It has Adam, Kris, Allison, and Danny’ ¦so ya’ll should be happy. Everyone looks good’ ¦well, Allison looks a little goofy, but cute.

I also got strangely excited to see the chairs with the “Rose Garden” logo on them. They’re in my hometown and only about 6 miles from my sister’s house! Yahoo! (Oh man, I should be so embarrassed that I just wrote that…).

Not really. I’m an Adam fan but I respect that Kris is the American Idol and Adam’s friend. I can’t imagine it will make Adam very comfortable overshadowing Kris.

If the content is “person-on-the-street” generated, the outlet should make that known, but they obviously, intentionally, do not. This way they can sensationalize headlines (to get hits), but then claim no responsibility for the content. Which is cowardly, in my opinion. At least The Enquirer stands by their fabricated articles.

I don’t know, it’s a problem of our times, I guess. Trying to differentiate between an article and a blog, and vice-versa. And that’s NOT to say all journalist-generated articles are responsible (by a long shot) or blogs are laden with personal agenda. Somehow or another, we’re going to have to learn how to discern, I guess.

Drop It Like It’s Hot was a song by L’il Wayne, then later Snoop Dogg. It can mean a lot of different things. I think here they were using it to mean sexy dance moves? Maybe.

As far as I know it can only mean one thing.

Adam does it in his youtube vid called I Make You Crazy. It was a benefit he performed. It is basically a squat and up dance move.

There is a report from some who went to the Portland rehearsal on TWOP. Here are a few of the most interesting bits:

Some songs were rehearsed more than once. Like Whole Lotta Love, for example (and Adam says ‘baby’ and not ‘woman’). David Bowie medley is amazing. And Adam sexy-dances a LOT through it.

Slow Ride is amazing too. Just like the first time, only longer. And they do hug after.

There’s a riser and dry ice like what Adam had for Mad World. Danny almost fell into the riser when he was trying to make a cool move. Fail.

Danny sings what sounds like 30 minutes of one long sappy Lionel Ritchie song. But it’s actually three or four songs that all sound the same.

Adam and Kris are siamese twins. They finish each other’s sentences. They go everywhere together. One doesn’t make a decision without the other one being there.

The techs and musicians all go into Adam-mode when it’s his turn to rehearse. You can visibly see that they treat him differently, treat his stuff differently. They were already setting up Adam’s stuff before Danny was done with his set. They were all fawning over him like flustered fan girls.

This report came from someone who didn’t see Kris’ rehearsal.

Perhaps “vulgar” is a poor word choice. The original expression and the Hip Hop songs that it is associated with are explicit. And the dance move associate with it is typically explicit. Adam does do it quite authentically in one of the Zodiac Show clips.

Those comments are really funny about Adam and Kris. They did say numerous times that they bounce ideas off each other. I think Adam is trying to get Kris to take more risks.

There’s a huge music festival in Portland this weekend. Besides running into David Grohl, the kids may get to see some great acts.

About Adam’s weight, many people said when they saw him in person (home town visit, or live shows), he looked taller and slimmer. Even a dj mentioned that. They say he has amazing eyes, like a very light blue, or light teal.

Well, although I am from Portland and my sister lives there, I live in Seattle at the moment and will be going to the Seattle concert. Soooooo, I will have my report for everyone on Tuesday night or on Wednesday (depending on how crazed I am after it’s over and how late I get home). Here’s an interesting item of trivia — it’s a full moon on Tuesday, so things could be even crazier than usual at the concert. It will be wild, no matter what.

The acoustics were bad so I can’t say for sure how the contestants fared that I never watched anyway (Anoop. Matt, Danny). They all sounded karaoke to me, so I didn’t pay attention to details. Allison rocked and Adam sings well with ease, despite the acoustics.

Yeah, I guess I should have specified, “wires” aren’t what they used to be. However, traditional news outlets do pick up many of the “digital wires.” Is there a term for that? That’s how everything gets so convoluted anymore. Still, the journalists interviewing them are often pulling their research from these “sources” and even then, blowing it (the Fox reporter that asked Adam about the “Billboard cover” and said we haven’t seen much of him since the finale). Geez, if I were her, I’d buy a burka and get transferred to Kabul for awhile.

Just *less* than a week for me! I only bought my ticket about 10 days ago, so it’s been a very short period of anticipation. I’m still bemused (and by that I mean flabergasted) at myself for becoming such a fangirl, which I have never ever done over any singer/band/actor/celebrity. Slightly early mid-life crisis, I’m thinking.

Best AI – I remember that video’ ¦where they asked Tattoos or piercings? He’ll get better in time, is it me or does he really come off as worried about his image and gets really anxious and overanalytical. Maybe image is not the right word’ ¦

I’m not Best AI but I hope you don’t mind if I respond. I remember the tattoos or piercings video. Danny said “ask me again” and then responded “glasses”, and the interviewer cracked up laughing. I actually thought that was pretty clever, everyone else was pretty boring in that bit from what I recall. (I do remember that he wanderered around a bit first, but I still thought it was engaging and funny).

I agree with you that he tries to overexplain at times. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that he has learned that he does not enjoy the benefit of the doubt that some others do, and that would tend to make a person a little anxious at times. I think he is getting better and will likely continue to improve as he gets increasingly distanced from the AI “pick your gladiator” audience, and people just pay attention to him if they like him and ignore him if they don’t.

I feel the same way – they work really well off of each other! Though that doesn’t really surprise me – Allison always seemed to get a kick out of Megan too – (CAW CAW!) And all three (plus Kris and some of the other guys, Matt, Anoop) all seem to share an off-beat sense of humor (a little crazy and child-like)
