when Bush said that thing about Kris being more welcome at an American's dinner table, I wish Kris has just been like, "I know tons of people who would be ecstatic if Adam sat down at their dinner table. What are YOU talking about?" because HONESTLY

If it were Adam, I would probably go nuts and like jump on him or something. He is so great. Of course I would go nuts if Kris came to my house, too, but sweet mother molasses... Adam Lambert

Oh, and another thing, can we define à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“not close?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just throwing around hearsay, which is what tabloids thrive upon. Last year, they called it a landslide and the difference was like 6 percent, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“by accounts.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Access Hollywood, I know youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re barely a step above The Inquirer, but can you please not try to give cred to an oozing sleaze like Billy Bush?

Last year the difference was 12 million votes and that is significant and considered a landslide especially if you take into account that everyone thought Archuleta would win based on the final performance (which I disagree but it's just my opinion). When Reuben & Clay were top 2 the vote difference was around 150K or so and that's close sparking all kinds of the usual accusations that people's votes went to the wrong person by accident, blah, blah, blah.

Last year they told both Archie & Cook the vote difference prior to the show. This year they didn't say a thing. I can look at this two ways: The vote really wasn't close and TPTB were embarassed that their chosen one and "pimped" one would be humiliated or the votes were close and they didn't want the accusations to start about the lines being purposely busy (they were for both), votes cast went to the wrong person, or God know what else. How do you define 'CLOSE' anyway?

I didn't vote at all this season & only on the final night. I know a lot of people who still watch A.I. do that. We are the types that aren't ardent fans of anyone in particular, not "rabid" about anyone, but vote for the person who improved & progressed throughout the competition. We don't like "pimping" and we don't judge just the last show. We like the underdog and who we can imagine listening to on the radio. We may or may not buy anyone's album either. The ardent fans who have voted all along, just cancel out their votes.

Yes--AT&T will not be willing to give up the voting system as it is for the love of money. This is appealing to the younger voters.

But--was about 1 of their other major sponsors--Ford? Kiddies ain't doin' the car and truck buying.

Being older--and with the way the voting is geared for the younger crowd--I will be a sporatic viewer next year at best.

The complaints about the voting system and states cheating are nothing new. I believe there were as a big fuss made in Season 5 regarding something Pickler's hometown was doing. And how can any of us forget about how Hawaii kept Jasmine Trias on in season 3 far too long?

The power voting is part of the appeal of the show. AT&T and Idol make loads of money from the phoning and texting. Obviously all 25 million did not vote, but even if they did that is only 4 votes per person.

There is no way Idol is going to want to make less money from the voting which is what would happen with voting limitations. Every year the fans of those who didn't win complain that the system needs to be changed. AI has changed a lot over the years but they've never changed the voting. And I don't think they ever will.

Kris is totally a class act. I loved his answers to all those awful leading questions, especially the one where he said he hoped that someone like Adam would be as welcome in average household living rooms just as much as he would, and when he said that he and Adam actually talked about how everyone was making the competition into a culture war and how they were both sick of it.

Interesting that both Jay Leno and Billy Bush suggested jokingly that Kris run for a government office. I don't know whether to annoyed or amused. Heh.

Apparently Extra tonight opened its show with a segment about the Arkansas votes.

At&t in Arkansas apparently handed out free phones? And sent trainers there to train people about how to text and power vote.

It's a financial arrangement with at&t and ai.

This stinks.

I don't mean to cast any dispersions on Kris. He won and it's over. It's fine.

But AI needs to clean up their back yard. Something is fishy in denmark.

Cakenbake May 22nd, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Yeah, you think if Adam won, would they have been asking so many questions about Kris, if Kris came in 2nd place?

NO.

That shows you that Hollywood elites and Idol wanted Adam to win. They have tried everything to explain Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s winà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦uh, how about HE GOT MORE VOTES.

Carrie got the whole state of Oaklahoma behind her, and Clay got the state of South Carolina behind him. Ruben got all of Alabama behind him.Did THEY CHEAT because their states came up BIG FOR THEM?

No one mentions that.

I think that when there are only about 25 million or so viewers and 100 million votes that people are going to say the wins are not an accurate account of the competition. Everyone knows that the South power votes. The west coast is hard one because we live in our cars and our lives are so jam packed that power voting for most viewers is out of the question. I am sure that it is the same in NYC and other very large metropolitan areas.

On Larry King tonight (thank God Ryan was on and not Larry) Adam was very laid back so as not to outshine Kris. He said he knew Kris would win because he (Adam) is so different. Also Ryan and Paula both said that they did not know what the totals for Kris and Adam were. Ryan even made a point of saying he didn't even ask. Kris got mad at Gokey for writing on his Idol blog that Kris would win, but Gokey was right when he said he felt most of his votes would go to Kris.

On Wedneday's finale show at the beginning when Ryan said he knew that people tried to vote and could not get through, I think they all knew that something was weird with the voting Tues. night. I think the system has shown it's flaws this year. I know a lot of people who could not get through for most of the 4 hours. But, I'm happy that Adam can remain in the back ground and do his thing now and not have to sing "No Boundaries" ever again.

Oh and Billy Bush, Adam would be a more normal attendee to my familyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Thanksgiving dinner. But I voted for Kris because ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not about societial dictates to me. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s about what music do I want. I want Kris musicà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Adam I will have to wait and see.

THIS!

Both Adam and Kris would be totally at home at my Thanksgiving dinner table - Adam moreso. At the same time, I know I like Kris' music, but I have no idea what I'm going to think of Adam's.

One of the reasons my "Idol is a pox on real music" mother actually voted for Kris at top 3 and for the finale this year is because she heard Kris perform and then saw the critiques from the judges and was gobsmacked. (She usually watches once a year to humor me when I'm visiting.) As far as she's concerned - and she has gone back to watch most of Kris, Allison, and Adam's performances for the season - Kris was the only real artist on that stage, and wanted to shove it to the producers for trying to tell her otherwise. Very much a "damn the man!" vote.

And yet, she actually asked me to tell her when Kris and Allison have albums coming out so she can check them out. If they're good, I honestly believe she will buy them. She's never taken any Idol contestant seriously before. I'm shocked!

I can't take any claim to a landslide vote seriously when one person can text vote 6000-7000 times and there I am trying to phone vote and got in maybe ten votes.

Larry King is an idiot. Did he really ask Archileta if he was gay? Maybe someone should ask King about his personal sex life. Euuu...maybe not.

Kris is going good. Love both my Adam and Kris.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think that is how interviews work. The interviewer asks question and the person responds. It was Billy Bush who kept asking about Adam, not Kris talking about Adam. That is basically how Hollywood is going to be handling this for awhile.

One thing the interview does show is that Hollywood, the American Idol show, the producers, and Simon Cowell wanted Adam to win. Because I am sure they would not be asking Adam questions about Kris if Kris came in second. They would be asking Adam about his career goals and the tour, not about the 2nd place runner up.

Could you imagine if Adam won and Kris came in 2nd place. Would they have been asking Adam questions about Kris and how Kris is doing, why did Kris lose, was it a vote against unprofessionals like Kris, what was Kris feeling after the votes came in, will you keep in contact with Kris, why do you think Kris DIDNà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢T win, was Kris upsetà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦blah, blah, blah. Now just replace that with Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s name, that is how this interview went with Kris.

This is why I appreciated the Jay Leno interview SO MUCH!!! I've never been a big fan of Leno (usually choose Letterman for late night), but he did such a great job interviewing Kris and asking mainly about Kris! Thank you Jay!

Adam was my man, but I like Kris and love their friendship. But Kris needs to stop talking about Adam so much and talk about himself more.

Oh, and another thing, can we define "not close?" That's just throwing around hearsay, which is what tabloids thrive upon. Last year, they called it a landslide and the difference was like 6 percent, "by accounts." Access Hollywood, I know you're barely a step above The Inquirer, but can you please not try to give cred to an oozing sleaze like Billy Bush?
