Season 8 Idol winner Kris Allen sang a lovely acoustic version of “She’s Got A Way” at a meet and greet prior to performing at the 3rd annual Chocolates for a Cure gala in Kansas City Saturday night.

The tune is new, and as Kris explained to the audience, “it might be on the new record.” Later, at the event, Kris sang “Man in the Mirror”, “Alright With Me” and “Live Like We’re Dying.”

The charity event benefited the Warner Children’s Vascular Anomaly Foundation.

    Do you have “O Holy Night” and “The Christmas Song” as well? I love them all. :)

    Oh and almost forgot, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is another.

    Yes!  I have “The Christmas Song” and “Oh Holy Night” on my playlist,too.  I just adore the arrangement of “Oh Holy Night” that was done on the AOL performance. I know that it’s not really a good time for Kris career wise to put out a Christmas album but I hope that one day he will.  It would be killer!

    Thanks for that link to the kmbc news story, tripp. So Kris has 2 family members afflicted with this disease. I always wonder how he chooses which charities and causes to support. It’s good to know how much his heart is into his good works.

    well Kris reportedly told someone at this event that if he doesn’t do a Christmas show, he will post a Christmas song for his fans. I’m guessing on his website? Or maybe he’ll just tweet a video?

    I’m still bummed that they didn’t release the AOL sessions version of Oh Holy Night as a Christmas single, because I thought his version of that was gorgeous. But oh well…

    I agree girlygirltoo, Oh Holy Night is my favourite xmas song and the version Kris did was definately gorgeous!  I hope he gets to do some xmas shows and does a song for his fans.

    Not only that, but they released O Holy Night (with the AOL session) waaay past Christmas, in the middle of January, I think.

    I hope too that Kris will send out a Christmas video complete with him and Zorro. We can see how much Zorro has grown. Basically anything Kris :)
