I can’t wait for the tour and for new songs. Actually I’m not impatient about new songs I’m just happy that he’ll have so much time to write them so the second album (when and if that comes) will be even better than the first.

What kind of legal issues can AOL have since KAband played their songs during these sessions? The only cover they did was “O Holy Night” which has been covered by thousands of people so that wasn’t the problem, I guess and since Christmas is over they could have excluded this one and could have already given us the rest. I hope whatever it is it’s solved soon.

Did he do the “Heartless” mash-up? I also got a reply from AOL and pretty much figured out that “O Holy Night” would more than likely be public domain. However, probably not Gansta’s Paradise. I don’t know why they didn’t just leave this one out if that is the case…

Kris spoke with me on the phone a few hours ago after being delayed at McCarran Airport amid the New Year’s Eve onslaught into Las Vegas.

Don Chareunsy: Have you been to Las Vegas before?

Kris Allen: I’ve never been to Las Vegas before, man. What a time to come, right? New Year’s Eve!

DC: Will you get a chance to see or do anything aside from perform during your first visit?

KA: I’m really excited about seeing Love. I’ve never seen a Cirque du Soleil show before.

DC: Congratulations on your first album and hit single ‘Live Like We’re Dying.’  What has been the highlight since winning American Idol back in May?

KA: Thanks, man. Thanks a lot. The tour after American Idol was really cool, going to some 50 cities with the other singers. It was a total blast to be on the bus together. We had a lot of fun.

DC: And the best city?

KA: My hometown. They had a very nice welcoming for me in my hometown.

DC: What was your favorite song to perform on the show?

KA: Probably ‘Ain’t No Sunshine.’  I had a good time arranging the song, and it was really fun to perform.

DC: I read in your bio that you were a fan of Garth Brooks growing up listening to your dad’s records. You should check out his show at the Wynn. Who are your favorite artists today?

KA: Man, don’t tell me that, but I’m coming back to Las Vegas. I’ll get to see him. I like a lot of current artists. Switchfoot. The Fray. Maroon 5. I like John Mayer. I’m going to see Maroon 5 on New Year’s Eve.

DC: If there’s one thing you could add to your must-see list in Las Vegas, what would it be?

KA: To be honest, the Garth Brooks show. I saw an ad in the airport and said that I have to see that. He’s awesome.

DC: Are you excited about performing in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve? And tonight, too?

KA: Yeah, man, the show tonight at B.B. King’s Blues Club was booked a week ago. And then live TV. I’ve performed on live TV, but this is New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas!

DC: Your first big gig of the New Year on live TV. No pressure.

KA: Yeah, man, thanks, no pressure at all!

DC: What is your New Year’s resolution?

KA: Hmmm ‘ ¦ focus more on music. I’m not really a New Year’s resolution kind of guy.

Hopefully there are Kris fans at Las Vegas already that are there for the New Years Eve gig; and those lucky people will hear about tonight’s gig and also go the B.B King venue. And since this is for New Year, those people are ready with their videotapes and enough batteries to tape a whole hour of show.

I’m just excited to see something of Kris . Tonight, tomorrow night. and the Fox Reality of Idol will start Jan 1 continuing for the next week.

There are some there now that are going to tweet, but it’s not for awhile, of course. I desperately need to go to bed, but I want to stay up to see, too. I’m sad. haha

I truly hope that tomorrow night, if he does CSA on the NYE show, he leaves the guitar in the case. I love to watch him work the stage while singing this song and it gives it more of an edge when he isn’t just singing at the microphone. He is also able to interact more with the crowd. Apparently he messed up the lyrics during ANS but he improvised and at the end he brought it back together and he sounded awesome.

Before he introduced IIO, he said the usual about writing it with Cale and he asked him how long they have known each other and they answered at the same time but Kris said 7 years and Cale said 2 weeks and the australian chick next to me thought that was the funniest shit ever and was like choking, it was weird. lol Also the crowd was really into IIO, it probably got the biggest response of the album songs.

Red Guitar was awesome. It sounded really different in the beginning like almost unrecognizable and then when the verses started it sounded like the studio. Before and after the song he kept on saying that this was the first time he played it live and some dude cheered and kris said "yay for it sucking" and he played it and it was awesome.

He introduced Baby One More Time as a sexy version of a song we probably know and told us that we look like a sing along crowd. It was totally sexy.

AWM was great he jumped down to the barriers and gave hi-5's at the yeah sing along part

MITM is a total crowd pleaser. He said the story about it being the first time we saw him on "a show called american idol, you might have heard of it", lame joke is lame whatever made everyone aww. That sounded amazing, I hope there is good audio of that cause it sounded better than any other concert.

Wow Red Guitar was just Wow I loved it. Does anyone but me get a little Country vibe to that song. It sounds like a cross over song to me. I can’t wait for the rest of the video’s. I can’t decided if I like Cale all cleaned face all that. And I think Kris looks supper sexy in those two pictures up above.

Thanks for the tweets from the BB King club concert. I was seriously considering hopping a flight or driving to Vegas yesterday. But I have the flu and it was raining – not a good combo.

AOL Sessions are claiming legal problems? What? Is Fox or 19 demanding $1 a month for every AOL subscriber? (AOL and Time Warner just divorced) OK, I’m bitter that it wasn’t up in time for Christmas and the gift card shopping sprees. And I’m REALLY bitter that Fox will go dark on my TV at midnight and I’ll probably miss seeing Kris on my new TV.

I think nobody wants CSA with guitar. Why do you love your guitar so much, Kris?
