Oh Kris. What a great live performer he is.

There was someone on this board who posted that Kris has too many fans to be a One-Hit Wonder. I think we were talking about billboard sales or something. I feel that it is true. He may not sold out arenas or even medium venues, whatever, but he is too great to not have people following him in concerts. And as long as he can write new music, we will continue to go to his next concerts.

I’m so happy for him.

Rickey Ugh!!!! I’ll never forgive him for posting that crap about Kris’ album before it was out!!! Can not stand the goof.

Just read thru the tweets and it sounded like it was a fantastic show! So happy for Kris that he gets to perform before an audience that shows him total love. That has to really energize him and KAB (and make up for all the opening act tough crowds).

Yeah, I don’t really follow him at all. Of the times I’ve noticed him, sometimes he makes sense to me and other times not. So I’m not surprised I don’t get his tweet from tonight.

I remember when I first saw Kris and the KAB perform this in GMA a million years ago and said ‘uh-oh, that’s a tough song to sing’. :) Now, for me (for you), it’s Kris’ best opening song. (without the guitar) :)

what a night for kris and his fans. i just watched the videos and i can hear that the crowd was singing along for most of the songs. cute that someone gave him a flower during waomf. kris must be really happy and proud. it was a great crowd and i would say that kris’ fans are the best.

Oh Em Effing Gee! Just watched the Jesha84 videos & INTK and am blown away. What an amazing night that must have been for you who went. He was just outstanding and so cool to his fans. E.T. news: I forgot to say a couple of days ago I asked Cale and Lizzie where E.T. was and they said he was going somewhere cross-country, but not by plane. Cale said that E.T. is very large and has to buy an adult ticket, so he wanted to save money.

Only had a few minutes to pop in but that video for I Need to Know was amazing – I love that song, so intense. One of these days I’ll catch Kris live, it looks like he puts on a great show.

Hi guys! About to board a train, but here’s 1st part of y recap about last night’s sho. First things first — Kris was awesoe, the crowd was totally into the show fro the oment the opener (Chris Nathan) took the stage.

Jatt17 picked me up at my hotel in Hershey around 9:30 a.m. an we strted out on wat was supposed to e a 3 hour drive to AC Traffic was a proble, and we eventually arrived at the Borgata shortly before 2 p..

We had been warned that they handed out wristbands for Ada’s show, so before checking in we headed over to Event Center to get ours. Ran into CharcoalEyes there, and the security guard told us to coe back around 4:30. We checked in and headed up to our roo, only to be unable to get in! Turns out, they told us the wrong room number. After that was straightened out, we headed on the elevator — and imagine our surprise when the doors opened on the pool/spa floor to reveal a sweaty Kris (in tank top and shorts) aiting for the up elevator. Unfortunately, the doors closed before Jatt17 could get out ore than a surprised “Kris!”. Oh well :(

Afer getting settled in our room, we got lunch, wandered around a bit (I won a whopping $3.75 at video blackjack) before going back to stand aroun in front of the entrance to the venue. We saw Ryland coe downstairs in a big hurry, and a little later the security guard told us to leave and coe back around 6 p.m. By this time, we had met up with several other people I knew from previous Kris concerts and been introduced to a few new people. We were a pretty big group — probably 2 dozen or more, although we kept breaking up into smaller groups throughout the night.

The wait was a little disorganized, which was frustrating. Eventually, we were told we would be lined up according to the number on our wristbands, and we headed upstairs. When the doors opened at 7, it was a mad rush (gallop, we were warned not to run), to the front of the stage. I ended up in the 2nd row, dead center, so spent the whole show basically right in front of Kris, looking up at him (nice view, but oh my neck!)

Congrats to everyone who was able to attend this awesome concert and thank you soooo much for the videos, pics, and tweets. These videos are just omg perfection (drool worthy)! And thanks for showing Kris so much love, you could tell he was enjoying it.

girlygirl Since you were so close I have a question. Were there scorch marks on the stage where Kris was standing from all that hotness????

So, I forgot to say that we finally met up with MtlFan shortly before we were all herded upstairs. It was so great to finally meet her — what a nice lady (and love the accent).

Anyway, on to the show. Chris Nathan is very entertaining, totally adorable and performed some really nice songs. He is REALLY tall (around 6’6″) and did a lot of adorably dorky dancing during his set. His banter with the crowd was hilarious — he had so much energy and the crowd gave him a lot of love. A really really really strong opener for Kris. I think he’s opening for Kris again at the orlando show in a couple weeks. He had a bunch of people talking to him/talking photos/getting his autograph after the show. He got down on a knee for his photo with CharcoalEyes, and they were STILL the same height :). He also handed out his CD for free — I got a copy and am looking forward to it because although his set was a little uneven, I really liked several of the songs.

Steve and Brian taped the setlist to the floor, and people were freaking out when they saw INTK and this notation “SMAYA/ELECTRIC”. We were speculating whether that meant they would be choosing between doing SMAYA and Electric Feel, or whether Kris had come up with some sort of mashup (not 2 songs you’d think of mashing together, necessarily, but with Kris, you never know). There was a VERY short break between Chris Nathan’s set and KAB’s — less than 10 minutes. The guys all got a huge ovation when they came out, and it was clear they were feeding off the energy. I was trying to wath all the guys, not just Kris — ad I have to say that Andrew’s expressions and head banging are amazing to see up close :).

Most of the crowd was right in front of the stage, many rows deep. So it was hard to move around much, but people were dancing, singing along to EVERY song, giving Kris presents and yelling comments at him the whole nigh. One of the California peeps I know yelled out if Kris needed to pee as he was doing the intro for IIO, and his expression was priceless! I hope someone got it on video. He then had to explain the whole “I have to pee” story. LOL. I also hope someone taped the banter leading into MITM, because he was so faunny in explaining how he went through the huge list of songs Idol gave them for that week, listing off the choices — “Ace of Base, Boys II Men, etc.) — then sang a cople of lines of Ace of Base! He also talked about how his MJ tape was te 1st he ever bought — well, except for Kris Kross — then jokingly promised to cover Kris Kross — someday :).

Anyay, his whole set was awesome. Cale and Andrew came forward to play to the crowd numerous times — during the IIO guitar break, I basically had the two of them right in front of me with Cale almost on his knees. Very nice! After he finished CT, he donned sunglasses and handed out the twilers someone gave him to the crowd (I didnt get one — boo). He then stuck around on stage for several minutes to sign stuff.

Yup, Girlygirl someone got it on video and it’s already posted on MJ’s!!! She’s very efficient.

So girlygirl, was this show almost a sellout? With everyone getting numbers etc. One of the tweeters for Chris Nathan was asking him to come meet her and said she was #2252. Some of the other tweets said it was a packed house. Surely hoping so. I know it was a great night for fans as well as Kris, especially with Daughtry in town with a sellout and the Black Eyed Peas somewhere around there. The tweets were coming in so fast it was hard to keep up. And whoever had this board, great job keeping up with Cook, Kris, Adam, and season 10 idols.

Finally finished watching all the video’s.WOW girlgirl and everyone else that got to go what a epic show it had to be.Watching those video’s seemed like I was there also.Loved that version of INTK it was the best one so far.Loved WAOMF that song is just so awesome.And am so happy he doesn’t do the guitar anymore during CSA,it makes the song so awesome that way.And IIO I think is one of my favorites that he does live.Wasn’t one of my favorites of the album until he started playing it live. Hi everyone, girlygirl wrote a great recap so there’s not much to add. My husband and I had major traffic issues and didn’t get to the Borgata til 6:15 pm, then had to check in and eat, so we didn’t get to enter the venue until between 7:15 and 7:30. As a result, I didn’t get to meet any other Kris fans. :-(

The setup of the venue was quite strange. The Event Center is a huge ballroom with massively high ceilings and standard casino carpet, so when walking in it seemed like we were entering a luxurious place. The stage was set up on the farthest wall, and the risers for assigned seats were WAY back leaving a massive general standing area between the stage and risers. I had purchased seats in the risers because hubby thought he wouldn’t want to stand the entire concert, but when we sat in them for a minute he agreed they were too far away and we moved up into the masses. Imagine an IDOL tour where you have several sections of floor seats. The setup was like pulling out an entire section or two of floor seats between the stage and risers-massive space. I believe the place holds around 4,000 ppl.

When we got there the risers had only scattered attendance and people were around 10 rows deep near the stage. Hubby wondered where all of the ppl were and that’s when I told him there was an opening act and it’s normal for ppl to arrive during that. He wasn’t happy about the opening act, but quickly changed his mind because Chris N was funny and could sing!

Once Chris N was done I turned around and noticed just about every riser seat filled and ppl standing all the way back to the risers.I’d say there were thousands there, but don’t know if it was a complete sellout.

Sunday morning started with a big smile because I knew there would be recaps and video and so many more posts from all the great Kris fans! Thanks so much mj for letting us have this thread to share anther epic night.

I want to give a shout out for Ryland and his terrific skills. I love the way Kris turns to him for the count off to start a song. As someone mentioned, Ryland does look like he would be the life of the party. I love what Ryland does on INTK. Oh Kris, INTK, that song breaks my heart and inspires all at the same time.

I can’t believe Kris and band were playing at the Gypsy Bar! Hubby and I went there right after the concert ended and hung out for an hour or so, maybe a little more. We were laughing because a sign said the capacity was 133 ppl and the place was wall to wall ppl-hundreds easily-we could barely move. There was a band playing covers who were pretty good with current Top 40 rhythmic stuff, but when they finished I didn’t see anyone else getting ready to play. Just my luck we decided to walk around to see if we would run into any fans. I did see a couple of tweets that Kris was in the casino, which surprised me because security told me Kris and band went straight to their bus which was parked in a secure area under the hotel, but like girlygirl we walked around aimlessly for what seemed like forever and got pooped out. What time did those ppl tweet that Kris was playing in the Gypsy Bar?

I like Torres alot more since he seems more down to earth the last few month’s.Ryland seems like he’d be the life of the party to me,and love his drum playing.

I only met them for maybe ten minutes, but Chris seemed to have the most outgoing personality and I’d guess he’d be the one to be the life of the party. They all were friendly, but he was more extroverted and outgoing. Anyhow, when you say you have this other impression of him, I don’t know where it comes from. He seems like a super-nice, friendly guy.

I just saw IIO video posted with the pee banter.

That is the essence of Kris Allen the live performer,

He was ready to sing, played the guitar intro and somebody yelled about previous concert happening. Kris
stopped the intro and said “There was a SITUATION..”.
Who knows if at the time he said it deliberately or not, but in that instance he made a reference about a TV show in that city he played in. And then, he continued talking about the pee incident which in effect he stopped the song AGAIN to talk about peeing.
We can hear the audience laughing, and then once he started singing, THAT voice came out from his mouth.
And the audience, I’m sure was mesmerized again.

How did he do it ? Amazing.

And the fact that I was watching the San Diego show live when the pee situation happened makes it even more incredible. And yes, afterward the audience was even more in love with Kris.

3:00 am?? OMG! My bberry battery was long dead by then and I was definitely sleeping! Didn’t Kris have an a.m. Radio show today in MD? Or just a show tonight?

Since I wasn’t in the 1st several rows I didn’t bother taking video or too many pics because I could see the hundreds of fans close up doing that.

I did try to tweet about all of the banter and key moments though and I see some of my tweets posted here. I’m J9DH on twitter. Just ignore the ones where I’m mad at hubby. :-)

I think Kris and band blew out cell service though because I had trouble with processing tweets during the more epic banter moments. :-)

Part III (whew, this is long)

After the show, we hung around the escalator in front of the Event Center, waiting to see if the guys would come out. And we ended up seeing everybody except Torres, eventually. Ryland and Cale (on phone) both zipped by), then we spent some time talking to Steve and to the new sound guy, Brian. Steve was the first to tell us about Kris potentially doing a tour in the fall opening for (unnamed) band. So that as exciting. Lizzie later gave us heads up on the same thing, hinting that he will be playing more dates (we specifically asked about West Coast/Pacific NW). Of course, these plans are still tentaive and vague in terms of when/who/where, but it definitely sounds like he’s going to be doing more touring this year. Brian also confirmed that (assuming the plas don’t fall through), the whole band will be going with Kris to play for the troops overseas.

Cale eventually returned and I spoke briefly with him. He asked me about how Daughtry sounded last night, because he had only heard a couple of songs (they left for AC during Daughtry’s set, which explains in part why Chris D didn’t bring Kris back on stage during his set). We had about given up on Kris when he suddenly appeared with Andrew (thy came down the elevators in side hallway). Immediately, Kris was absolutely mobbed. Given where he was standing, he as pretty much cornered, but from what I could see (I didn’t go up to him, instead heading over to Andrew), he was his usual friendly, accomodating self. I was in a group talking to Lizzie when seeral security guards came up telling us to break it up, and Lizzie had to go get Kris and take him away. Guess we were blocking the hall and causing too much of a commotion.

So we wandere around some more and by this time my feet were killing me and my legs were cramping. The Borgaa is HUGE and since we did the GA thing for the show, I’d been on my feet for hours. By this point, all I wanted to do was sit down! JMatt17 and MtlFan eventually headed off their separate ways, and the rest of our group split up into multiple sub-groups. Just after 2 p.m., I gave up and went back to my room.

Which I shouldn’t have done, because when CharcoalEyes came up to the room at around 4:30 a.m., she said they had been in one of the bars hanging out watching Ryland, Drew (Ryland’s rother who filled in for him on the Asian tour), Torres and Andrew just jamming out. They also got to alk a bit with them. Kris & Cale weren’t there (probably because they had to lave shortly for the radio show they are doing today). I’m bummed that I missed that, but if I’d been there, I wouldnt have gotten any sleep at all.

He was just on a Baltimore top 40 station less than an hour ago. He did say that he had a 4am wakeup call this morning.

Ross I think it’s more just because for along time I just couldn’t get into torres I don’t know why I think that’s why I felt like that.it wasn’t anything he did,now I would feel like a part of my family died if torres wasn’t with kris and the rest of the band.I really love the way torres sings along with the words to the songs and the way he looks at kris is the way andrew and cale do.I think that’s another reason I felt that way because I. Was so into kris and those two more.once I really started paying more attention to torres my feels started to change.

Hi all, girlygirl and J9BT both wrote awesome recaps–so I’ll try to just share my experience with repeating what they’ve already said. My husband and I got there about an hour or so later than we were planning to, because we got stuck in terrible traffic too. By the time we got checked in to our room and everything, we got to the Event Center and there was quite a line (it was around 6:30). At 7:00 when the doors opened, there was quite a rush of people running to the stage. We ended up with about 4 or 5 people in front of us, on the right side of the stage, directly in front of Andrew. We also had reserved riser seats, which we bought just in case, because my husband didn’t want to stand in GA for the whole concert. He checked out where our seats were-and like J9BT said-they were very far back, so he came back to stand with me. He agreed to stay up front until Kris came on and did a few songs, then he would go back to his seat. Well, I have to tell you-he stayed up front for the entire concert! He was extremely impressed with Kris-he said he is an incredible live performer and that his voice sounds even better live than his CD. I predicted he would come away a fan and he really did. The concert was such an amazing experience. Kris sounded incredible on every song. And he was mesmerizing from the moment he took the stage until the end. He left me wanting to hear more! Seeing him live, he really draws you in. You feel like he is singing just to you. It just amazing how much emotion he gives with each song. I don’t know what else to say, but I can’t wait to see him live again. I can see why some keep seeing him over and over again-seeing him live is addicting!

So after the concert, we went to dinner. We had been rushing to get to the concert and never had time to get lunch, so we were really hungry after the concert. After dinner we walked around the Borgata, keeping an eye out for Kris and/or KAB, thinking it would be cool to meet them, and also that there would likely be some fans there. And I was hoping to meet some fans. (After the concert I was at the merch table buying a Tshirt, and when I turned around there was a group that were up front and center, I thought they might be girlygirl and maybe some others from here, but I wasn’t sure. I was going to walk up to them and ask, but then I felt foolish doing that so I didn’t). Ok so it was probably close to midnight, after our walk around the Borgata, no Kris or KAB sightings so we headed to our room. When we got up there, I checked in here and saw a mention of a tweet that Kris was in the casino. So I got my husband to agree to head back down to the casino (although he said–you know there is next to zero chance you’re going to see him right?) And girlygirl is right, the place is huge, so I didn’t think there was much chance either, but wanted to try anyway. We walked all around and saw nothing, we were heading past some of the restaurants-the Seablue restaurant, etc. and my husband says-there he is! I didn’t see him, we had walked right past him. He was hanging out at the Seablue bar, which is open into the casino, with Andrew and Ryland. I’m not sure of anyone else there. My husband says, why don’t you ask him if you could have a picture with him. So I turned around and by this time his back was to me. So I tapped him on the back and he turned around and I honestly don’t even remember what I said, because it was like I was having an out of body experience. I think I said something to the effect of being a huge fan and that I was at the concert and he was awesome and could I have a picture with him. He said, “sure, why not” and I put my arm around his shoulder and he had his arm around my waist and my husband took the picture! I thanked him and my husband said something to him about the show being great and the band being great and he said “Thank you, sir” and shook his hand. And then we walked away, and I was in shock at what just happened! I have to say that he was just so gracious and nice, and also super beautiful in person. I kind of wish I said more to him, but I was really starstruck in that moment. Wow! What a way to cap off an already epic evening.

I did get some video (IIO, PA, TMYFML, INTK)-I haven’t had a chance to look at what’s already been posted. So I don’t know if my versions have anything to add. If they do I’ll upload them. Also, I got some good pictures during the concert, but don’t know when I’ll get those up either.

Back to real life I guess…

Yeah chris4kris so glad you had a wonderful time.Yes about your husband that’s so fantastic I hope my husband becomes a big fan after are show.I know his hoping we can meet up the following day.He likes Kris but not near as much as me of course.He likes the way Kris sings but doesn’t think Kris would be as fun as Adam would be in concert,so I hope when we see him my husband well change his mind.He won’t watch video’s with me so doesn’t really know what to expect next month.

chris4kris, I’m so happy for you to have met Kris and that your husband actually enjoyed the concert, as well. I’ve been to 3 concerts with my husband and the most he would admit to is that he liked Kris CD and that it wasn’t a bad show. That was nice of your husband to agree to go back to the casino with a 0 to nothing chance of running into him. I don’t think my husband would have done that. He would not have minded if I go back myself, but I doubt if he’d humor me into going too. He was very willing for our daughter, though :) I guess a 7yr old’s fangirling is more acceptable to him than his wife’s :)

I know what you mean about seeing Kris live being very addicting. When I first saw him as an opener, I thought I’d be happy to have that one chance. But then, I wanted to see him as a headliner, at least once. Well, I’ve seen him headline 2 shows, and I still want to go to another one. Who knows when the next opportunity would be? Hopefully, it’s close enough that I would be willing to drive to it myself and not have to drag my husband with me — in case, I’ve used up all his “going to Kris Allen concert” pass.

Kris and KAB really put on a good show. I’ve said before that I am really not a concert goer or music follower, but one thing I do enjoy about KAB is how they play music WITH each other. It is as much fun to see their interactions as much to hear the awesome sound they produce. I remember making that comment to my husband when we saw Kris open for The Fray. Granted, we only saw 30-45 min of the The Fray’s set, but from what I saw, it seemed like it’s all business. The band members were in their respective place on the stage and just seem like doing their “part”, if you will. Maybe, because the lead was mostly on the piano during the parts that we saw. But with Kris and his band, you can see how they enjoy playing music together and I think it shows that they’ve become good friends.

I just want to reiterate what most posters have already said — a big thank you to all those who write recaps, tweets, and posts videos, that allows us to enjoy more of Kris than what we would normally afford to.

So hard to keep up with all these wonderful Kris threads & now another one is up. [ I feel exhausted just reading this & listening to all the videos- though I'm not complaining. I don't know how Kris & KAB keep up doing all these concerts & radio shows!!]

I just have to say thanks to girlygirl, J9BT & chris4Kris for your recaps . [ Still looking forward to MTIfan's]Its so great that all these husbands are becoming more hooked on Kris after seeing him live!! Hopefully that happens to yours iloveKA39?

Also thanks mermichelle for that link to crybaby4u’s video channel- what a great wealth of Kris videos. Loved the Q & A at the 106.5 studio. It was funny hearing about Cale’s audition & how he started singing in a low key. That happened to my friend here when she auditioned for The X-Factor!!

Now onto another concert – but I’ve really enjoyed this thread – the concert was another epic one with so many supportive fans of Kris there.

brbi1000-what you said reminded me that I wanted to comment on KAB and how awesome they are together. You can really see and feel the joy that they have playing music together. It’s all about the music for all of them, and that is so cool to see. I think my husband really enjoyed that too. He was really impressed with how talented they all are as well. The concert was just so much fun because not only did they sound great, but they were having fun.
Also, 2 other things I remembered. During TT, the girl in front of me had a sign shaped like an elephant and she wanted Kris to sign it. She was holding it up right when he started singing, but then some people behind yelled to her to put the sign down, which she did. But when Kris came over to our side of the stage she handed it up to him-he read what she wrote on it, while singing and then signed it for her. Whenever Kris came to our side of the stage and reached down to touch people’s hands and sign things, I was always too far away. Except at the end during Come Together, everyone really pushed front far and people behind me were crowding in, and I did get to touch his hand! At that point, I never thought I would get a picture with him later in the night!

I just got done reading up to chris4kris -08/08/2010 at 8:26 pm, and there will probably be more posts as I’m typing this. Or not, since there is a new concert thread up :)

Now you’ll just have to go to another concert with that picture and get Kris to sign it!

chris4kris: I’m so happy for you that you got to meet him and took photo with him and yes, touch him.
Kris concert is addicting. I swear those who never gone to see him live are “lucky” because you just don’t know what you are missing. Once you’ve gone to see him, you are a goner, literally.

The first time I met him at Las Vegas, he signed my cd booklet, and I just left without even saying thank you.
I felt so bad seeing his face, but everything was a blur. It was an out of body experience.
So the next 3 concerts when I saw him, at least I remember to say thank you, even though all my questions about Let It Rain, etc, just went out the window. I forgot everything I was going to say.
Just want to let you know that it wasn’t just you it happened to.
That’s why it helps to have somebody who does not fawn all over Kris by you (in this case, your husband).

And I can’t wait for Mtlfan report.

i found a recap from another blog from someone who went to the concert, the quote below is really touching;

“My favorite part was at the end he was shaking hands with people and signing stuff. He came down towards our end, and he began reaching down to shake hands. He got in front of my sister and reached down and tried to shake her hand. My sister is unable to raise her arms, and he noticed her struggling, and me trying to raise an arm, so he got down on his knees, leaned all the way over, just so he could grab her hand. I instantly teared up because he could have just skipped over her (there were people reaching over to grab at him), but he didn’t…he got all the way down to reach her. I didn’t think I could love him anymore…but I do.”

Back at work after a weekend of Kris, no fun! It was great meeting girlygirl and Mtlfan and so many other Kris fans. As everyone has said, Kris was amazing, his voice so strong and clear, really in great form. His eyes were sparkling and I think he had just as much fun as we all did. When I saw him at the elevator after his workout, I was actually able to wave and say “Hi!” We had met and chatted about Maine at one of the radio gigs on Thursday, so I think he recognized me, he got in half a wave and “Hey” before the doors closed on us again. I realized later I should have added “Kris” to my “Hi!” so girlygirl and the other fan we were with would know who I was talking to, but it all happened so fast. And to speak to his personal attention – I second that, at the radio gig he didn’t just blindly sign the promo photos, he first took the time to shake hands, look me in the eye, ask my name, thank me for coming – make a real connection, so sweet. And I found out his dad is from Maine, who knew?

Arwen: thank you for sharing – that brought me to tears! I guess that’s why I like him so much. He is so genuine and sincere. Doesn’t matter how much attention and celebrity, he is still the same person caring about each of his fans.

arwen thanks for posting that recap. That is so unbelievably touching, it brought tears to my eyes. Kris’s compassion for others is inspiring. After receiving all that adoration from the audience for his performance, he is still humble enough to do this. I am so proud of him!!!

This has been such a great week-end to fangirl over Kris . Thanks to everyone who wrote recaps. Loved everyone of them. Great video too, I feel like I’ve seen the whole concert. The fans really got back all the love that they gave him. What an extraordinary concert!

Hi guys:I wrote the recap that Arwen posted. I mostly lurk, but I really wanted to write about this amazing experience. My sister has Muscular Dystrophy, and she is unable to move her legs, and recently she has lost most of her mobility in her arms. I was lucky enough to get to see kris in Hershey and in Atlantic City. I couldn’t take my sister to hershey, but I made sure to get her to AC. She loves Kris as much as I do, so this was a special even for her (unfortunately, she does not get out much.)

We were in the front row (next to the girl who wrote that awesome recap – she was adorable) and Kris was bending over shaking hands and signing things. He got right in front of my sister, and bent over, but he couldn’t reach her, and she was unable to raise her arms. I tried to help raise her arm up, but it was awkward. Kris made eye contact with me, smiled, then got down on his knees, and he reached all the way down to grab her hand. He made her night…and mine as well because as the other recap said, a lot of times the people in the disabled section get passed over. He could have easily just waved and moved on, but he didn’t; he got down to get to her…and my love and respect grew more than I can put into words. He then went to the other people in the wheelchair section as well. In addition to hearing his beautiful voice, I got to see his beautiful heart as well (that was really corny…but true)

She says “her” rock star made a “pinky swear” which she calls dorky but then goes on to describe the meaning to her: “If my rock star really does keep pinky promises, reads that letter, and than I just keep settling in my life, I’d be lying to a him, and I cannot tell lies, especially not to my role models…”

Rather than approaching his audience as one big mass of adoration, Kris seems to consistently reach out to his fans as individuals with whom he shares mutual love and respect.

Hi. I’m new to all this. I’ve been a lurker too, checking these threads every day to catch up on Kris news and to live vicariously through others who have been fortunate enough to attend his concerts. I deeply appreciate not only the videos and recaps, but the first-hand accounts of the meetings they’ve had with Kris. The two I’ve just read about here have touched me in such a way that I felt compelled to respond, something I usually don’t do. He is so thoughtful and caring and I pray he continues to react this way to his fans as his star rises even higher.

Thanks for joining us mamacitabaja, it was quite a week-end wasn’t it! I was touched too, by these stories. Kris is such a genuine, down to earth guy with such a big heart, I don’t think we have to worry about him changing.

Wow! These stories are just so touching. And they just speak volumes about Kris and his heart and who he is as a person. As some of you have already said, I just didn’t think I could love him any more, but after reading these I do! Kris is such a special person. As sunny2 said, he is so genuine and down to earth. And his heart is just so full of love for others, we just keep seeing that coming through-in the way he treats his fans, in his music, in everything he does. I am so proud to be a Kris Allen fan!

I didn’t know how else to explain it, but it’s nice to know it didn’t just happen to me. I still feel like the whole thing was a dream. So hopefully the next time I get to meet him I can say something more to him…or maybe I’ll be just as starstruck again! What you said about once you’ve seen him live, you’re a goner, I totally agree with. I can’t stop thinking about how I can get to another concert soon. I’m looking at the rest of the tour schedule to try to come up with an option…maybe something will work out.

He may not be totally over the top for Kris the way we are (my husband isn’t either), but I’m sure he’ll be impressed and he’ll really enjoy the concert. And I hope we get to meet the day after. I began reading this Borgata thread from the beginning since about 7:00pm PST (now it is almost midnight, 5 hours later)and I’ve been sidetracked clicking on videos, pictures, etc. I was hoping to read Mtlfan recaps, but what I found was a wonderful recap from collbjc55
(thanks arwen). I’m tearing up, wow. I’m imagining the scene. Anyway, thank you so much and so great of you to bring your sister to see Kris. I can not tell you how great your recap is.

Same here. I don’t go to concerts at all. The last 5 years before this year, I’ve been to 2 concerts , Jordin’s idol tour and Carrie Underwood’s as opener to Keith Urban about 2 years ago. This year I’ve been to Kris concert in the beginning of January and that wetted my appetite for more.
Of course this past July I went to 3 Kris concerts within 6 days.
There you go. And they won’t be my last Kris concerts for sure.

Me too! Was always a casual AI fan. The last concert I went to was Billy Joel & Elton John about 10 years ago. There is something about Kris that just touched me and made me want to hear more about him and I’ve been to 4 of Kris’ performances in the last year. Going to another on Saturday.

Have to join you both for this! These tour threads have been incredible.

i know, i’m posting this recap very late.. was busy and yesterday as I was almost finished, I hit the wrong button and lost it all..sigh. Ok here’s my retyping of it.
First, got to say that it was a pleasure meeting jmatt and girlygirl; both are very nice :) aw thanks girlygirl for the compliment on my accent. Especially that sometimes i wonder if it annoys people at times.
It was a long drive and frankly with the heavy and slow traffic between NY and Atlantic city, at some point, i was worried i would maybe missed the concert, but nah, finally i made it well in advance of show time. I had not have dinner so I missed the time when the doors opened; for this reason i missed going in at the same time as jmatt and girlygirl and watching the concert with them (i watched the show with Rickey finally! he’s nice!) but I joined them after the show :)

Before going further, just a comment on the latest recaps on this page. It made me tear up. I was at the right of the stage and missed what was happening on the left side. He’s such a nice person and it made me remember the “love for all” spirit in which he was raised. Nice to see that in action :)
Back to the show.. the opener, Chris Nathan, was rather good and i liked his take on “Empre of State”. He’s an impressive 6’6′ and after the show took a picture with him. Very nice guy, he was giving his CD and didn’t have time to snatch one copy..sigh. Since i was wearing high heels, i don’t look too much ‘midgeted’ on the pic haha.
When KAB appeared on stage, I was soo excited. They started with CSA and then Kris came on stage. I was sooo thrilled. I mean after a year and a half of seeing his videos, he was there in person, like 8-9 feet away! It’s such a blast to hear him sing live,.. there is no replacement for this :) He sounds GREAT (he’s a very good singer! I knew that already but it feels different in person) and there’s such a nice positive vibe about him. I noticed that he looks at each person that he can see in the audience. I think the crowd will never be an anonymous mass for him but rather a collection of individuals for him to sing to. The show never feels scripted because he’s there 100% in the moment and reacts to what’s going on in a natural and funny way. He’s quite chatty on stage and it’s entertaining.
He did PA, one of my preferred cover and his INTK was superb. TMYFML was gorgeous. i loved every song he did. The show passed so quickly! I would have listen to him another hour — or 2 ;)
So the show ended way too soon for me, and oh! I would have like to hear BIB live but oh well, maybe another time.
After the show, i joined jmatt and girlygirl, and with a group of people waited for the band anf Kris to come out. Finally Kris showed up and was immediatly surrended by a lot of people. Security freaked out when i think there were no reasons to but anyway. I could have tried to get to him for pic and/or autograph but I admit that I chickened out. First I feel a bit rusty in conversational English since it’s been a few years I haven’t work at client sites (english) and second I never tried to get to an artist i like so it feels a bit weird to do it. It’s all very personal but looking back at it, it’s ok and next time i go see him in concert (Champlain fair), I’ll go talk to him. I really do want his autograph on my iphone clear case.
I drove around 20 hours (plus 2 hours at customs) for this show but it was really worthed :D

Don’t worry about your english, it’s great, and I’m sure he’ll find your accent very charming!!! Where is Champlain fair? I’m thinking of doing a roadtrip to the US as well.

it was only 10 min to cross the border to the U.S (there was almost nobody there around 9:30pm) but at the same time when i came back, there were so many people to cross the border to Canada that it took over an hour and a half!

The Champlain fair is in Essex Junction (close to Burlington) in Vermont. It’s around 2 h from Montreal.
Where do you live? I have an extra ticket for the show. A couple of months ago i offered it to ross and he was supposed to check on his vacation and get back to me but I guess it was not possible for him and i might have missed his answer. So if you want to attend with me, it would be great. I have not offered the ticket to a friend yet because my first choice was to go with a fan at mj!

Next time you see him, don’t worry about your English, since most likely you will be speechless anyway. ha-ha.

Hi Mtlfan, glad you made it home safely! Also, glad you made it to the concert-I know at one point I was worried we wouldn’t make it in time.
Like Ratna12 said, when you do meet Kris, you will probably be speechless! I know I was wishing that even though I met Kris and got a pic with him that I said something more to him. But in that moment it is completely overwhelming!
So cool that you are getting to see another concert so soon! You certainly deserve it after driving 20 hours this time. I really, really want to see him again soon-hopefully something on the fall tour will work…cause I don’t think I can wait much longer than that!

Mtlfan, thanks that’s so sweet to offer me your extra ticket. I’m from Toronto. I google mapped it and I’d literally have to drive around Lake Ontario to south of Montreal and then head south to Vermont. I think you’ll have a much easier drive.

I was really hoping to go to State College PA, it’ll be his last headlining concert (and you just experienced how amazing that is!!!). Thanks for the offer though, the nicest people are on these boards.

Although I’m guessing your English is just fine, I agree with the encouragement that telling Kris where you’re from is a great plan. When you think about it, it’s a great conversation starter, too. Most likely he’ll respond by telling you thanks and asking you something about your travel or telling you he know someone from there or something!

You saw an epic show where folks took lots of great videos for you to rewatch, pinch yourself, and say, “Yes, I was there!” (and it was awesome!) My husband & I are coming to LA [ Santa Monica] next May[ 14 hour plane flight- not quite like your 20 hour road trip though MtIfan] – if only I knew whether Kris would be performing anywhere then – I would make it work. I know though that Kris doesn’t know himself until the last moment what he’s doing so it’ll be a wait & see I suppose.
