Kree Harrison & Emmylou Harris Sing at the Opry (Bonus Carrie Underwood!) (AUDIO)

Kree Harrison wasn’t picked up for a record contract after she finished American Idol season 12 as runner-up in 2013, but  that hasn’t stopped her from continuing to plug away at her craft in Nashville. She also continues to impress the legends.

The singer has made several trips to the Opry circle since leaving American Idol. The last stop was on Saturday (Dec 13) where the iconic country songbird, Emmylou Harris, introduced the young singer.  Emmylou boasted that she voted for Kree during her Idol run!

“I’m just going to drive off a cliff after this one!” Kree said after Emmylou’s introduction.  Later in the show, after performing two beautiful original songs, “Your Whiskey” (Kree/Maren Morris/Brett Tyler), and “You Would’ve Wanted It That Way (Kree/Trent Dabbs/Natalie Hemby), Emmylou invited Kree and Kate York, to join in on a lovely 3-part a cappella version of the Christmas song, “The First Noel.”

Listen to Kree’s FULL set right here, including her performance with Emmylou right here. How did she NOT get signed again?

Kree was hardly the only American Idol connection at the Ryman Saturday night. Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood, closed the show. The performance capped off a celebratory week of performances and appearances to promote her Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album. After the show, Carrie posted a photo of the gang, including Kree and Kacey Musgraves. GIRL POWER Y’ALL!
