Kimberly Caldwell talks with FOX 26 Houston about her upcoming album,  Without Regret, set to be released in April. The Katy, Texas native wrapped up the video for her single, “Mess of You” last week.

    I hear “Mess of Me” and I look at her hair and I think, yeah, I get the whole mess concept.

    Not a fan of Kim’s voice. However, she has my deepest sympathies for that haircut. Whoever did it should be banned from ever wielding scissors again.

    She’s much more likable in that interview than she ever was on her season of AI. Much less KimberME and more humility.

    I don’t like Mess Of Me much but the other 2 songs on her myspace are decent. Either of them would’ve been better as a lead single too IMO. They’re all in that post grunge pop rock space that David Cook’s in too. It’s the right kind of music for her voice. I’m not a fan but congratulations to her because it seems like she’s releasing the album she wants after trying for years.

    I liked her as the TV Guide host. I guess this means her TV career is done. :( But I don’t blame her for trying to pursue her ultimate dream.

    I downloaded and listened to “Say Love” a bunch of times. I like it – it’s pretty addictive.
    I came to appreciate Kim a lot during the AI2 concert tour, which I saw 3 times. Sure she didn’t have the best voice during the season, and she was a bit of a fame-whore whenever a camera was around, but put her in front of a live audience and she gave the people what they paid for. She seems to have a good work ethic, and never quit on her career, so best of luck to her.

    I like the haircut; in fact, I went to my hairdresser about 6 months ago and described a haircut that I wanted–not that I had seen iton anyone. This was the cut I was trying to describe for my slightly curly hair. She talked me out of it because she kept thinking I was asking for this cut to blow-dry straight. She knew I wouldn’t fiddle with blow-drying straight. Anyway, I’ve never known who Kimberly Caldwell is, but I like her hair. I wanted something edgy for my milestone birthday and before I went to the Idols 8 Concert. I like edgy, funky styles. Now, I have something to show my hairdresser. I will now go and check out Kimberly’s music.

    I wasn’t much of a fan of her in Season 2, but I do like her voice. I downloaded “Say Love” and I really like it. So I’m actually kind of looking forward to hearing her other stuff.
