Kimberly Caldwell’s new “Desperate Girls and Stupid Boys” music video debuts on VEVO today. Watch it after the jump.

This Pink-ish bit of pop candy is a really good fit for Kim and will hopefully get some radio play.

I think the video needed more of a story but it’s a good looking video. The song really sounds like a hit, if they can get radio to give it a chance.

I liked the acoustic performance Kim did. I’d sort of forgotten her pipes are actually semi powerful. I’d probably like Desperate Girls And Stupid Boys even better if it were less electro and more rock/pop. Good phrasing from Kim though, even with the electro she doesn’t sound that generic.

She’s pretty likable in that interview too. I think she’s grown up some and learned to rein in loudness of her personality. Good comments about AI.

It does, very catchy. I still like it, video is not bad, and it was interesting how her voice pushed the radio station mikes there for a bit – she’s got some pipes. The interview portion was funny, and there’s no apologizing for AI – just the facts about their ratings. Much luck to this different ‘take’ on the Party Hearty scene.

She has a nice voice and a good look.

Nothing special about that song, IMO, could be a hundred other dance pop songs. But maybe that is the point of dance pop.

Cute video. It captures Kim’s fun personality. I always liked Kim on Season 2. I wish her well.

Such a gorgeous young woman. Like the tune too – I would put it on my workout playlist.

I like the song a lot and had forgotten how much I liked her voice. She’s toned down her personality where I don’t want to smack her as much, LOL. The video is a bit generic but it’s not bad and I’m sure she didn’t have a huge budget to work with. I like it a little more rocked up, it’s a pretty good song. I’ll be checking out the rest of the album

I love her hair now too!

Love the song, but the video is pretty generic. Would’ve loved to see something a little dynamic to stand out, just because I really like Kim and am pulling for her.

I’m hoping this song hits big – I love it. I’ve played it a couple dozen times since it first hit the interwebs.

I’m going to buy this CD. I’ve always liked Kim and I’d like to see her succeed.

I LOVE the song and nice video!!!!!!!! :)

That’s actually a really catchy song. I love her hair – she looks fantastic.

At least she is singing in a vocal range where she doesn’t sound like a tranny.

I like the song, but I don’t think it will do too well (I hope so, but don’t expect it to). The sad thing is, if she were Brittany Spears, or Ke$ha, a song like this would shoot to the top of the charts without her having to do anything. I wish her luck though.

For some weird reason I really like this, even though I generally really dislike the genre. Catchy. Better than anything I’ve heard by Katy Perry or Lady Gaga (not hard to do).

Who knows? This could be a hit. The song is more than catchy enough, so I hope so. And maybe Kimberly can changer her image slightly from ‘that one chick with the abrasive personality who dated David Cook for a minute’. She’s got a nice growl to her voice, seems like she could do justice to a Bonnie Tyler song.

I liked it, but this ain’t my genre so who knows?

Quote: The sad thing is, if she were Brittany Spears, or Ke$ha, a song like this would shoot to the top of the charts without her having to do anything. End quote.
(sorry I don’t know how to properly quote!)

Isn’t that the truth. Sad fact of the music business is that money buys airtime. I like the song, it’s catchy, good fit for her voice, and it actually has a deeper meaning than the title implies, if you read the lyrics (and implied in the video). It (and she) deserves to do well.
