Well, I like the lead off track – didn’t like “Mess of You”, conceptually. The first one didn’t do much; I recall hearing it, and seeing the video – but I had no memory that was last April! Now this one seems to be catching on. Whatever was the hold up – looks like they’re ready to roll this time – I wish her lots of good fortune with this album.

I hope this date sticks and the launch goes well for her. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing…

Oh hey, looks like they did replace that unfortunate album cover they originally had the year before! Good! Like I mentioned in the numbers thread, DGASB is not bad. Good luck to her!

  • Miss Blue

I really like DBSG. A lot. Definitely going to download that track, but I’d like to hear more from the album before purchasing the whole thing.

I wish her well. I’ve always liked her and her voice sounds better than ever.

I really like Kim Caldwell, hope she does well with this album!

  • Joyed

I hope this goes well for her – I know she has talked about releasing her album for years and it is wonderful to see her dream coming true.

I certainly enjoy DGSB way more than the Britney song. Good luck with it.

I hope they give Kimberly a performance slot on this season’s AI. I never really liked her during s2 but she’s grown on me lately with her work ethic plus I think she’s found herself musically. I think she’s got a good single too that deserves to be a hit.

I really hope this succeeds for her. Nobody can say she hasn’t worked for it.

That is one damn catchy song. Sure it’s another loud, four-on-the floor, drink until we drop, party song, but it’s fun and has a hint of pathos and self-awareness that I appreciate. Good for her. Hope it’s a big hit. She deserves it.

Wonder if Cook will give her a shout-out on twitter? T’would be a
classy move, although having his brother do it instead would probably side-step the inevitable fan melddown. LOL.

I’d actually disagree with that. The lyrics seem to be making fun of the “drink until we drop” crowd. It’s making fun of their stupidity and desperation that so often accompanies binge drinking parties. The song struck me more of an anthem for the people who want to live it up without getting piss drunk.

    I’m stoked for this cd!

I ended up buying her new single and it’s a GREAT song! I guess I only know Kim from her cameo in Wrong Turn 2 (playing a reality show contestant ;)) but she has a real nice single. Don’t think it will impact radio though.

I’ve always liked Kim, so I look forward to hearing her cd. I haven’t had the chance to listen to the single, but I will.

Don’t think it will impact radio though.

I think it will, if it hasn’t already.

That would be cool if she ends up being huge. All it takes is a catchy song.

Uhmmm, that was precisely my point when I said that I appreciated it’s pathos and self-awareness. It comes across as your typical fun, party song for those who choose to enjoy it as such, but with a bit of a hidden twist and depth. Well written pop, well sung.

    Kim? JK, JK.

I got “Say Love” as a free download from her and I liked it. I always thought Kim was a good performer, if not one blessed with a great voice. I do like her and hope she manages to have some success.

Since Randy Jackson has been behind her all these years, I’m hoping that will happen. Work ethic – that’s what I’m taking about.

Got to see Kim perform live at the Hotel Cafe on Monday night, and she sang about 7-8 songs from the upcoming album. It was the first time I had seen/heard her perform with her band, and she was fantastic. In great voice, and all of the songs are great…very eclectic with some very soulful and others rocking out fun. The crowd was super enthusiastic and she is funny and charming with banter in between songs. Puts on a great show.
