It’s official.  Kelly Clarkson’s  country version of “Mr. Know it All” will be released as a single in the country format.

Kelly tweeted, “Hey everybody, I got to work with Dann Huff and recut ‘Mr. Know It All’ for country radio! I hope y’all like it!! I had a lot of fun recutting the song and getting the opportunity to work with Dann! It will be available on iTunes April 3rd.”

As I said in an earlier post, throwing a few twangy guitars on top of a pop tune does not make a tune country. I’m not a country fan, and even I know that!

For what it’s worth, I didn’t think “Don’t You Want to Stay” was particularly country sounding either, and it turned into a big hit for Kelly and Jason Aldean.  But personally, I’d love it if Kelly recorded a country record from scratch. She could pull it off and I bet it would be a country hit. Cause Queen Kelly can do anything.

In case you haven’t heard it yet, check out the new mix of “Mr. Know it All” below.
