Gorgeous cover!!

And, Woohoo!!! for Vince Gill. As it states in my Twitter bio, Vince Gill makes everything better. He’s recorded a couple times with Carrie before (I Told You So & Look At Me), and he performed Tennessee Line from Daughtry’s sophomore album with them at the CMAs several years ago. His high harmonies are DIVINE. I’m excited they’ll perform this at the CMAs, and Don’t Rush’ll likely be pushed to country radio. Very, very curious and excited to hear it.

are people like us, catch my breath, and dont rush the new songs – or did I just miss those?
Well at least she’s confident shell be successful for another decade to put out a Chapter 2.
I dont really see the need for greatest hits albums anymore…if anyone wants to buy those OLD songs, they can just find it anywhere online for very cheap..esp older songs…the only reason to do this besides the artists’ ego is for  you to do different versions or remixes.  I still remember Whitney Houstons 2 disc greatest hits (hot and cold) and the faster songs had a lot of remixes or different versions so at least people who had the original recordings would have a reason to buy again.  But who cares about a greatest hits album – just buy the  new songs individually (or download them anywhere like I have done for years)…but from what I always read, Kelly records so much – doesnt she have 10-13 songs to put on a new album vs rehashing old songs.  Maybe Im wrong and people will buy this album – I just think people who are Kelly fans would have downloaded those songs already….I know she likes country and many fans probably want her to do a whole country album…Id also like to see dance songs…sorry i cant  get excited about old songs being put on one CD esp since I dont buy CDs anymore 

Sad that Dark Side isn’t on the CD. Probably means I’ll never hear it live.

This is more or less a label requirement. Most artists have them written into their contracts.

I happily bought a copy of Catch My Breath on iTunes today. I really think it is a great way to introduce the Greatest Hits album. P!nk has shown that a Greatest Hits package can still be successful in the Digital Era, so I wish Kelly well with this. I plan on picking up a physical copy to add to my Kelly Collection when it comes out. 

Also a good idea for her to include the iTunes Sessions version of I’ll Be Home For Christmas as it can help her with those holiday sales initially. However, it might have people shying away from it after the holiday season. 

I’m getting the hard copy myself because I want it to commemorate Kelly’s milestone, plus I own everything she’s put out digitally anyway.

Not sure which picture I prefer on the cover.  When I first saw the new one, I preferred the one from yesterday but the more I look at it, I like the newer one.  I saw someone else mention this elsewhere and I had thought the same thing, it reminds me of several of her covers during the Breakaway era.

Solid tracklisting.  It’s a Greatest Hits so I wasn’t expecting any surprises on it.  If it was a “best of” compilation, I’d be very disappointed there were some other gems on there.I’m very excited to see that Vince Gill is on a track with her.  I’m going to assume that he’s lending his wonderful voice on some great harmonies for that song.  Also solves the “what’s she going to sing” question for the CMAs.  Over the weekend some people saw a commercial that said she was singing with Vince on there and no one made the connection that they might actually have a song together.  I’m going to run with another assumption that this will be similar to DYWS in that it’ll be sent out to radio after the show.

Ooops, missed the last line of heartly’s post. So I’ll say that I like the way that the lyric video makes the letters appear to ride in on the air. Symbolism is good.
