    IMO, a true artist should be able to capivate people just by singing on a bare stage. Kelly does that as well as pretty much anyone.
    I am a big fan of P!nk’s, and I like Christina, but I don’t consider them (or Nicki) any more of an artist than Kelly, just because they have dancers or crazy production values or whatever.

    I think that they are all real artists.  Christina needs to work on her sound, but for the most part they all have their own brand and style, and they all know what works best for them.  Someone posted a quote from Katy Perry a while back, about how her first label tried to make her imitate Kelly Clarkson, but she was smart enough to say that she couldn’t be successful by doing what Kelly does so well.  Katy built up her own career that’s based on her strengths, and not someone else’s.  The same is true for Kelly.  I wish that all AI alums would learn that lesson, because then maybe those in the industry would see them as more than just AI alums.

    Kelly is just a singer, not an artist.

    I’m not really a fan of her music, I like some of her songs, but I would never say she’s not a good artist. Even though she doesn’t write/co-write all her songs, she delivers a lot of emotions and connections with her audience; she’s doing pretty well in the industry with her “girl next door” image in a calculated musical world of “images” and “performances” we see today.

    Nicki is talented, she is the queen of that humoristic, unique style, I would expect nothing but fun and “crazy” when her name appears somewhere(not really with her last night performance).

    Pink is great, she often  says in interviews “I’m still crazy”; she’s “crazy” good.

    Christina is another story; in my opinion, she’s so chasing the fame and stay relevant in the “pop” successful style of the year, electro/non electro “flavor”, that she’s going down with her artist-image, losing fans and deteriorating her artist persona she has built years ago.

    wrong. All Kelly needs is her voice, she doesn’t need a grand stage production. And please, don’t even try to say that the garbage that is Nicki Minaj is more talented than Kelly, don’t make me laugh

    Kelly, just like Adele, only have to rely on their vocals. They don’t need a bunch of flashy stuff on stage to distract you

    She’s not theatrical like those you named but for me, her interpretation and the notes she choose to sing scream real artist. imo
