I never watched the first season of idol and hadn’t really paid much attention to Kelly Clarkson but I’m now a big fan! Congrats to her on all of her success. She seems like a pretty unpretentious, real person too – an added bonus. That guy in her vid was cuuuuuuuuuuuute!

I guess I’m the only one who is not fond of the idea of Idols touring together (post Idol) regardless of who they are? Nothing against anyone really. It’s just that IMO a tour with someone from Idol is one step forward, two steps back. You try to break away from the Idol stigma and here you go touring with yet another Idol. You have absolutely nothing to gain especially for someone like Kelly who IMO is already beyond Idol. And I cringe just thinking what happened before Kelly toured with another Idol (Clay). I’d rather her tour with someone like Pink. Now that is something. JMHO.

Kelly’s leap back to the top is gratifying. I really just like her period. She’s real, unpretentious, and she sings her ass off. I can’t ask for more than that. I know she had to make concessions, but I have a feeling that this will only embolden her and raise her status to allow her to do her thing in the future. I don’t know if it’s gonna be a full fledged tour, but she’ll be at Universal Orlando Mardi Gras in March. And I am SO there.

Kelly is a rare entertainer who is definitely cool and modern but she’s still herself, uneffected by fame. Idol lucked out with her as their standard bearer.
