I wished there had been a bit more storyline development, actually.  The most affecting piece was the little girl on the tire swing who got to break into a smile at the end.

But KC looks great in the closeup shots.

you didn’t get the storylines but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there.  The fallen beauty queen, the young girl with the eating disorder, the man with a drinking problem, the wounded war vet, etc.

I liked the video.  beautifully shot and very powerful and thought provoking images.

Once again Kelly proves why she’s more than just a good singer, she’s an artist who thinks about ways to put her lyrics into moving pictures and bring them to life.

She’s such an amazing artist. So talented and artistic and real.

My point is that there were so many storylines that only one or two of them had a real arc.  What happened to the guy who lost his job?  To the vet who lost his leg?

The lonely girl on the swing found something that made her happy and hopeful, so that arc felt complete.  I would have liked a little more of that.

It’s a good video, but that would have made it a better one, IMO.

While I have enjoyed many other Idol contestants throughout the different Idol seasons, I have to say that we got it right the first time, and there’s just no surpassing Kelly. And among several that have come after her and been very successful, she is the only one to really remain a young woman with amazing talent versus a product like all the others become. Kelly had her public fight with the system and seemed to lose at the time, but in the end, she has been able to stay who she is, and that’s the biggest win of all. We are so lucky that she continues to write and sing and share her talent with us.

Like the song – the video not so much – looks rather like a campaign ad for the state of the economy.

I was hoping for something more personal to Kelly as opposed to her simply playing the role of narrator, but I like it ^_^ It’s simple but still very moving, and it was all shot beautifully.

Why in the world does the post about talent-lacking Stefano have more comments than this one? Oh that’s right, most of the people that read this site think Idol started with season 8…SMH.
