Keith Urban Sings, Talks American Idol – Ellen DeGeneres Show

Keith Urban chats with Ellen DeGeneres on her daily chat show about “putting the fun in dysfunctional” on American Idol.

The newly minted judge talked about the feud between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj (he’s doing a pretty good job in these interviews, downplaying the situation).  Ellen gifts Keith  a cowboy hat outfitted with noise-cancelling headphones.  That would come in handy.

Eventually, Keith breaks out his guitar to sing his Golden Globe nominated song, “For You.” The segment was taped on Friday, so Ellen goes right ahead and congratulates the singer on his win. Sadly, both Keith and his wife, actress, Nicole Kidman, walked away from last night’s Globes empty handed.

Keith is handling the questions about Idol really well so far. lol at Keith’s “Smokey, the Bear” T-shirt.

Keith is amazing (how can one play the guitar so well) Also, a really personal song, I wouldn’t have wanted to make the decision in tha category. They were all good songs.

Keith is a terrific guitar player.  Not at all like many WGWG players who are no more than pretenders at the art.

Okay, Idol did its job of luring me back. I said after Jessica lost I’m definitely out. Then they hired Mariah, Keith, and Nicki and I can’t help but be interested.

    Keith is a good interview.

Keith must like funny/retro t-shirts. Didn’t he have a Partride Family one on for Leno?

What a class act!  Talent, passion, humor, humility.  What more could a fan ask for? Makes me want to believe there’s something worth listening to in contemporary music these days. What a contrast between him and the AI girls and old dawg.

Love Keith. He always is fun in interviews and he’s amazingly talented. He’s the only judge I’m interested in hearing from.

When I heard Keith Urban sing on Ellen, it reminds me of the duet he had with Kris Allen on the Idol final (season 8)… Memories, memories…

    He’s a charmer.
