Something I’ve observed (and who knows, maybe I’m wrong)…hardly any of the opening acts listed for the big tours next year are actual opening acts.  I’d have thought all of these people opening for Keith would have had their own tours.  Do y’all think its the economy, what?  My thought is that it makes it that much harder for new acts…

Wait–Dustin Lynch is new, but others…

Oh, and I have to wait until I’m off work to see the video:))

Keith Urban puts on an AWESOME show. I highly suggest everyone to go to this.

In the country world it’s pretty common for the primary opening act to be somebody who’s on the cusp of headlining themselves. Maybe with the economy the way it is right now, there’s even more of a trend towards big package tours that bring together big name opening acts with headliners. You’ve had Jason Aldean with Luke Bryan as a primary opening act, Eric Church had Brantley Gilbert, Miranda had Chris Young (and Jerrod Niemann who’s had a couple big hits), and Brad had The Band Perry (TBP’s going out with Rascal Flatts this winter and I’d guess they’ll start headlining in late 2013). I think Lady A had Darius Rucker as their primary opening act too. LBT’s doing a small headlining tour in the late winter/spring before joining Keith.

Carrie’s one of the few country acts who didn’t go that route though I think Hunter Hayes has a lot of momentum now and will probably help sales for the 2nd leg of the BA tour.

Funny video. These folks of country have always a good sense of humour, much more than the “popstars”.

Love the video. Looks like it’ll be a fun tour. I saw Keith live when he brought Kris out with him a couple of years ago — he puts on an amazing live show.

LOL. Fun fun, fun. I’m so thankful Keith is on the Idol panel. The Austria comment was funny. :p

What a great way to promote his tour! Keith is a hoot!

What a great video! And the talent on this tour is impressive…no autotune needed here! Keith puts on a fantastic show! The show I saw was sold out, but he’s going to have even more exposure after 5 months on AI.

That was hilarious! I loved the countrified version of “Wake me Up”.

Looking at these tour dates, Keith Urban isn’t likely to return for AI season 13?

    Keith is hot.  Nuff said.

Based on the announced dates alone I think there’s plenty of room to work in auditions for the judges rounds. That being said I never expected Keith to be on AI for more than a season and have been saying so ever since he signed on, even before the shenanigans began. He loves touring too much to commit to AI for more than one season and he makes a ton more money off touring too.

This just worked out for this one season because Keith took longer than usual in between albums. But, once his album is out I think Keith is going to want to be on the road for a good long while. Probably 2 more legs after this one: another North American and then an international leg. I definitely don’t think his plans will include AI s13.

that was very fun promo!!!!! Go KU!

Similar to new acts having fewer opportunities…

I heard an established supporting movie actor on the radio saying… He’s doing all right, but roles that used to go to newcomers are now going to stars.

More basic and ominous is kids graduating from college with a mountain of debt and no prospects.

I just love this man and have high hopes for his ability to judge on Idol!

Love it! I’m seriously considering the St Louis show as a fun road trip. I’ve seen Keith a couple of times and add my nod to the ones saying what a great live show he puts on. I’m anxiously waiting for news of his All For The Hall concert date, too!
