Katy Perry knows how to jump on a trend. The success of Rebecca Black’s “Friday” finds Katy doing her own take on the subject, with the fun fun fun girl herself, Rebecca Black, playing Katy’s best friend.

The “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)” features the pop star as a teenaged geek who can’t quite figure out what happened the morning after a wild party.

The mini-movie is full of awesome cameos from Glee’s Darren Criss and Kevin McHale, Kenny G (!!!) Hanson…AND Corey Feldman and Debbie Gibson as Katy’s parents.

Check it out below.

Rebecca Black was funny enough, but I just about lost it when Kenny G appeared. :D

Love it! Very cool of Katy to put Rebecca Black in the video. This song will do well and the video will do well!

What I see that sets Katy Perry apart from many of her peers is that she has the ability to laugh at herself and life…evidence in her songs and her videos. She may not have the greatest voice but her writing skills are exceptional even if the “message” of her songs can be conceived as being trite and moronic (in some instances). Not all songs need to be “deep”, I don’t think.

Win, win, win, all around. Great stuff, Kenny G…..lol perfection!

I agree! I am a Katy fan. Will be going to see her in August and I expect it to be one fun party concert from beginning to end. My daughter and I are going together! :)
The little “wink” in the OTT performances is what has been making me lose my Gaga enthusiasm. Katy’s got the “wink” as does Adam Lambert and even PINK for most of her songs.

Love it! Very cute. Probably will be the summer song of the year and following California Girls last year, that’s pretty good legs for an album.

I saw Katy on Friday night. Her show is fun, lots of tween girls squealing. But there was enough adult humor too. She said it was the 3rd US show, I thought it dragged a little in the middle. High energy up until ET, which was awesome live, people were up and dancing and then ‘Who Am I Living For’, ‘Pearl’,’Not Like The Movies’, an acoustic medley with a lot of talking (Friday and Whip My Hair were cute) and then ‘Thinking of You.’ She did that one acoustic on a cotton candy cloud above the audience. About 40-45 of downtempo. It’s a pretty long show. I give her props, she’s not the best dancer or singer but she’s engaging and entertaining.

I’m actually not much of a Katy Perry fan, but that is like the best music video ever. Rebecca Black being in another video that has Friday in the title is worth it being called that alone.

5th #1 on HOT 100 from Teenage Dream album? Most likely. Damn, Katy makes it look so easy!

Remember when her album opened at #1 with less than 200K (192K) sold after Cali Gurls monster and Teenage Dream smashing? After 4 #1 singles she’s at 1.5 million albums sold and who knows how many millions of singles?

LOLOLOL! I <3 this so much

So after Lady Gaga and KP I guess everyone will be including sax solos in their singles.

The video is hilarious! Last Friday Night is one of my favorites from Teenage Dream. I wondered why it wasn’t a single sooner but I see now why they waited until this summer to release it. Say what you will about Katy but she’s a marketing genius. Who would have thought a year later this album would still be going strong with a fifth single to hit #1. Crazy.

This has got to be the best Katy Perry MV ever. Rebecca Black FTW.

Damn looks like Katy Perry is going to do the unthinkable she is going to have a fifth single SMASH lo. This is her fifth smash in a row. Clearly she has a great label called Capitol Records who did an amazing job with the way they rolled this album out. California Gurls was last years summer smash, Teenage Dream was a big hit in the early fall and then Firework was huge. I didn’t think ET would be such a huge hit and it almost 4 times platinum and this LFN IMO could be her biggest hit yet and its what the fifth single on the record. Nobody usually gets five singles on a record and there are all huge hits, MEGA hits. Katy has a great label, they did everything right here.

Love the “Glee”content of this video… Kevin Mc Hale as the adorkable knight in shining armor… And if ever Blaine leaves Dalton and join the school of Kurt… hopefully he will wear the same awesome haircut as Darren Criss’ character in this Katy Perry video…

I’m not a Katy fan either (even tho Firework is my theme song) but I agree this is the best video ever – Hanson FTW!!!

great after-the-party song, just like gaga’s “let’s dance” and kesha’s “tik tok”. fun inventive lyrics & video, boring musically – same formula for most KP songs.
