Katie Holmes to Appear on So You Think You Can Dance

I’m not sure what the point will be beyond a ratings stunt, but rumors have been flying that actress and wife of   Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, will make an appearance on So You Think You Can Dance in the next few weeks.

From E! Online’s Watch with Kristen:

Good news!  A source  at So You Think You Can Dance tells us that Katie Holmes is indeed planning to appear on the show.

“As far as I know, that’s the plan,”  says the source, who  also says that the  extravagant affair is not for this week’s episode, but could not confirm it’s for the 100th episode as rumored. Our source adds that there are many dancers on the set today rehearsing for a big performance, including many SYTYCD alums.

Producer Nigel Lythgoe tells an X17 stalkerazi that he met with Katie, but was uncharacteristically typed lipped about   the details, except to say, “we have something very very special” coming up…

    I’m going to have to say “who cares” on this one. Katy Holmes lost every bit of her appeal and street cred to me after hooking up with Tom Cruise. I get this very Stepford Wife vibe from her and it creeps me out. Besides, she just seems so one dimensional and flat, even in all her acting gigs. Does she dance?

    Is she that desperate career wise? Tom is a really the kiss of death when it comes to his wives’ careers. But then again Katie was never much of an actress, her performance in Batman was criminal. A more monotone and dull performance would be hard to find.

    Katie Holmes can dance. She did a number in that show that starred Jonny Lee Miller.

    Still, it’s probably a ratings stunt.

    Anything having to do with Tom Cruise and who he fucks, is lost on me. I like Nicole Kidman again (but umm not based on who she fucks though if you hypnotized me, it could possibly come into play…dunno).

    Is she auditioning in an indirect way? Simon and Timbaland are said to be i the process of developing a remake of Saturday Night Fever with possibly Zac Efron.

    Me thinks the lady has something up her sleeve, other than her love for British produced reality shows.

    I so cannot stand “Kate” Holmes. I cannot imagine this gal can dance anything like the competitors on the show and will only look bad trying. She is pigeon toed galore.

    This one goes under “random oddball news of the day”. One one hand, I don’t give one tenth of a second of a whit, but on the other hand, it will stick in the back of my mind and randomly pop out of my mouth at a party or something. This is what Katie Holmes has been reduced to: party trivia to ward off awkward silence between strangers. :dry_tb:

    She was in the front row of the Idol finale with Suri (who slept the whole time, I think). I was like, And I should care WHY? Aren’t the ratings pretty good this season? She doesn’t sing or dance, right? Tho I have to say that she would sound better than Sean Kingston did last week. THAT was abysmal. Maybe they will put on Adam or Kris soon instead! *hopeful glance*

    Actually Katie was covering Suri’s ears most of the time she was there. I read somewhere that someone yelled at Katie for being stupid for taking a 3 yr old to a place that loud and Katie was upset and got up and left. Don’t know if that is true.

    She was there recruiting for Scientology. I think she gets points in the big spaceship in the sky for every person she indoctrinates into the cult.
