E! Online reports that the rumored Katie Holmes So You Think You Can Dance tribute to Judy Garland will air during the SYTYCD finale on August 6

The rumors have officially been confirmed. Katie Holmes is bringing her Broadway skills from the stage to the studio for the final episode of So You Think You Can Dance, a source tells E! News.

“It taped last week,” says the on-set source. “It’s going to be on the finale. It’s a Broadway does Hollywood number. It opens on a Broadway stage and then she walks into a Hollywood studio.” The finale airs Aug. 6.

Holmes, who has been rehearsing and dancing for more than a year, was on top of her game, adds the source. “She was amazing. She was such a pro. Her legs are in great shape. She’s got a hat and a cane and she’s wearing a leotard and tights,” the source adds.

Sounds as if it similar to the number she did on “Eli Stone” a while back although I’m sure it has been expanded and improved a great deal.

My brain first read that headline as

Katie Holmes Dance Number will RUIN So you Think You Can Dance.

    Projection!

Is Katie Holmes that important? I mean, she’s Tom Cruise’s wife, but other than that, where is her fame comming from?… I just don’t think she’s that big, to tape her apperience in the finale way before and to be announced as a great act, is she really that relevant??

I don’t believe Katie is relevant and in a way it is embarassing. Anne Hathaway has been signed to star in Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland (2011).

If this is such an important event, why not book Anne? Judy Garland is one of our premier legends in the entertainment business. Maybe SYTYCD producers may explain their motives.

Hey, Katie may surprise us all; I just cannot figure out why she’s doing this.
