Katharine McPhee and Michael Johns – David Foster and Friends

Some PBS stations (not mine–at least not yet) are airing David Foster and Friends, from the Las Vegas show that featured a slew of musical artists, including Katharine McPhee and Michael Johns, performing Foster’s songs. The concert has also spawned a CD/DVD Hit Man: David Foster and Friends.

    I can’t wait to finally get to hear an original song from him on the radio–according to his management Top 40 and Adult Contemporary stations are receiving the single today so stay tuned Michael fans!

    Aside from the IAWBIAR performance on Idol, MJ sounds the best I’ve ever heard him. Not too keen on the song though.

    Thanks for posting this, MJ! Michael sounded great! Here are some comments about Michael from David Foster: “He is destined for greatness for years to come, I promise” and “This is a guy that I actually didn’t discover. I just grabbed him off of the television. When I saw him on American Idol, I thought this guy is amazing and he got bumped, as some of them do, like Jennifer Hudson…got bumped early, like #8 or something…he was bumped off the show, but when you hear this guy sing, it’s like who are they…I mean they got it wrong and they do get it wrong sometimes.”

    If he’s got Foster as solidly in his corner as it sounds like from those comments, we’ll be hearing the charming Mr. J’s music for many happy moons yet.

    MJ also sings “She’s a Beauty” from The Tubes. Another Foster song from the eighties. Actually on the DVD, he starts out singing “She’s a Beauty”, then finishes with “Man in Motion”. He did an amazing job.
