Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is set to star in a video for fly-over rockers, Theory of a Deadman.   From a press release sent out by the band:

Vancouver rockers Theory Of A Deadman will be filming a video for their hit single à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Not Meant To Beà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ starring Grammy nominated songwriter and American Idol superstar Kara DioGuardi in the lead role. DioGuardi co-wrote the song with the bandà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s frontman Tyler Connolly.

Connolly had this to say about working with DioGuardi, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Amazing. I went over to her place, drank some wine and we wrote à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Not Meant To Beà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ in 5 minutes. Our writing styles fit together so perfectly it was almost like it was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹meant to be.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

DioGuardi adds, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“The best part about my job is that you never know who you are going to meet, and whoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s going to inspire you. Although Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d never worked with Tyler, when he started singing the song, I knew we were onto something special. I am thrilled he asked me to be a part of the video.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Hardly a “Superstar” after three weeks, Kara’s still at that “Uhm, what’s her name?” stage of fame.   Peeps watching the video will think to themselves, “Hm, that face is familiar, is she the chick on Bones?” Or, insert your random TV brunette actress here.

The song, “Not Meant to Be” is the third single from Theory of a Deadman’s latest release, Scars and Souvenirs. The band is currently on the Saints of Los Angeles Tour with Motley Crà ¼e and Hinder.   Butt rock extravaganza, peeps!

Great. Its all about the judges. Not the contestants.

Where Kara actually expresses an original thought or goes out on a limb and just once sticks up for a candidate no one else is getting, then she just might earn the title of AI superstar.
Right now she is just sitting in the weeds waiting to throw her support to the majority opinion.

I prefer Jewell and her battles with John Rich on Nashville Star any day.

I have nothing against Kara, but would much prefer LL Cool J or Kenny Loggins (who actually spoke his mind).

LOL, that “superstar” title hit me as a wee bit odd as well. Shrug, whatever. But, superstar? Really? The title of the song, on the other hand, seems to fit like a glove. :-)

Should be uhm interesting to watch! Coincidentally, Chris Daughtry co-wrote and guested in one of tracks of Theory of a Deadman’s album (“By The Way”). It would’ve been funny if Kara guested on that song instead. It’s an Idol world after all. Let’s hope she can act decently.
